i followed step by step but im having an issue with the controller. ill set it to controller but it wont accept any input except for the b button which when pressed, resets to mouse and keyboard. any ideas on how to fix this issue? edit: i figured it out. if you press start and back at the same time in desktop mode it switches the controller function
I actually did this before the video dropped, the issue I'm having through, is during gameplay it'll eventually freeze up. I start up heroic, then the launcher, logs in just fine, there's no lag or dropped fps when playing, but it'll just occasionally crash and I have to restart the steam deck.
I think there might be OTHER ways to get it working but for now the Epic version is definitely the *easiest* way to get it working. And for what it's worth, if you use the Heroic Games Launcher, you technically aren't touching the real deal Epic launcher.
For the record, only AFTER this video was made, apparently the standard launcher decided it would work fine. So the Epic Store isn't required anymore, but THAT is a recent development. We've been telling people to preload via EGS for days.
Hi just wanted to ask if use WIndows on the Steamdeck and play through windows does the performance the same as in SteamOS or slow performance? i wanted to change to Windows since all game i play are all Mihoyo games (Genshin, HI3,HSR)and Wuthering Waves
The game is works for me, but it has big VRAM issues on my laptop. From what i've seen the game fails to release unused memory so it eventually taps out and starts stuttering like crazy trying to reallocate memory. Going from a smooth 60 to 10-30 fps constantly. This happens regardless of graphics settings. I'm on an NVIDIA machine using Wayland, so maybe the steam deck managed to dodge this issue? Also i did download the launcher from the official site bc heroic was failing to launch the installer.
@@HiTechLoLife maybe 10-20 minutes, sometimes a bit more. Depends on how many things the game loads, like if you are constantly loading into new areas it will be quicker. It seems to be an nvidia only issue from what ive seen on reddit
I am having trouble installing it, when i select c programfiles x86 it tells me that o have insuficient space, wich is probably true, but it doesnt let me install in my SD card, its called primary i think, but it appears nameless and cant select it.
@@HiTechLoLife As an update i would like to say that after factory reseting my steam deck and formating my sd card the problem still persist so i couldnt select my SD card to install the game, the only diference is that now i do have the space to install it on the C drive at least, that half the space gone though :/

You're not breaking ToS. For now at least, considering we've been playing Genshin Impact for far longer without repercussions, it is (relatively speaking) safe enough¹. ¹: The choice is yours, the risk assessment is yours, I'm not saying it WON'T happen, only that we have reason to believe it may not.
Playing through the hoyo launcher does not avoid the anti-cheat. HSR does not work with the hoyo launcher on the deck, but Genshin does because they use different anti-cheat systems. The only bans were for bypassing the anti-cheat, and that only resulted in a relatively small number of people being temporarily banned from playing HSR on their decks and has not happened again since.
I got a question. seeing as zzz on epic works on deck, would the epic version of genshin impact work as well or do I need to go off of the anime game launcher? should I use the anime game launcher over epic version?

Wuthering Waves used to work in 1.1 presumably due to Kuro fucking up (classic, I know) their anticheat which made it run on Linux. They hotfixed the fuck up as expected and now it doesn't work. There *is* a way to get it to run but the process is very involved and requires a lot of tinkering
@@SiegmundCG Yeah disregard my previous message I just tested it in handheld and yeah, your only real option is 1280x720. Which is odd because both Genshin and Honkai can do 1280x800
It is safe as you use the official ZZZ launcher, whether or not you download it from Epic/Heroic. Whether or not it'll continue to work this easily depends on Hoyoverse but it shouldn't cause any issues with the Deck itself regardless.
For whatever reason this time around it seems they've included ALL voice languages in the download instead of just downloading them as needed unlike say, Genshin.

That's odd I haven't had any issues with running it as a non-steam game. Did you add it as a non-steam game through Heroic itself?

Yes you can, I did it on my steam deck and it works fine, you have to mount the SD card partition and select it when installing the game

I made a second video with a different install method that'll let you use your Google account and other accounts.
U can still play by this method if you add a hero.. launcher to steam lib, and run zzz from it
