Coop, you are forgiven for forgetting the plates… but not for the puffy coat 😂
🤣🤣
Currently getting a matching puffy coat made for my Eleiko Mug to cause further upset. - Coop
@@GarageGymReviewsEleiko needs to make a heavy coat, but they'd probably never hear the end of it.
He also needs to apologize for that trap deadlift bar! 🤣
You make the most overrated plates in the history of plates. And I do own them. They're not that great
"I critique people for a living, so I have to expect critique back." That's a great mentality to have and a great way to handle the situation. Props.
i miss the days when plates were a dollar/pound
Okay Dad go take your meds....
it really is insane to consider we have to buy heavy stuff to pick up when our ancestors got paid to do so
@@rgh622 it wasn't that long ago homie lol
@@bushy9780 get a job as a mover then
Still are on FB marketplace
Well done Coop!! Also, I'm glad the puffy coat was discussed 😂
It is pretty puffy. When I first got it I felt like the kid from A Christmas Story who couldn't put his arms down. - Coop
You and a couple of other gym equipment reviewers influenced me to get these plates. I love them. Bought my set last year. Now I want more!!!
I’m all about giving people the benefit of the doubt. Great job making this video Coop.
Thanks brother. Loved the Brian Shaw video btw!
Hey Coop; this is why you're the best at what you do! Your reviews are always in depth, cover all that anyone would need to know to make smart choices on the equipment they buy, and you always admit when you've made a mistake, so keep it up!
We still love ya buddy
$100/45lb plate, you missed nothing of value.
That’s just the current state of the market and the rapidly declining US dollar. If you don’t want to pay 2 bucks a pound plus shipping then buying used from someone local is pretty much your only option.
lol “rapidly declining US dollar” you clearly know nothing about economics or the market. USD is unbelievably strong right now compared to virtually every other currency, historically speaking. Inflation has been quelled as well. Price increases have nothing to do with USD power and everything to do with excess demand due to several years of suppressed buying habits.
Wow, this was really gracious. Great job Coop Zissou!
I like the non machined backs of TSC plates. They don’t get scratched like Rogue’s deep dish plates.
Glad you made this video on the Strength Co plates and that my comment (1:12) was one of the huge amount of comments pointing out there absence.
Still love your videos
Having my comment appear in a GGR video and right above Coops head no less. All I can say is dreams do come true.
A humble man is a righteous man, rock on!
Once you include shipping and tax the Strength Co plates are actually cheaper than the Rogue Deep Dish.
For 1 pair of 45s shipped to Cleveland OH (only 2 hours from Rogue in Columbus)
Strength Co: $195 + $30 shipping + $0 tax= $225
Rogue: $180 + $40 shipping + $16 tax = $236
(ok I also plugged in a few other shipping locations and shipping and tax varies so it's basically a wash +/- like $10 depending on the location)
Now calculate resale value
@@jmagnum15 these plates will be passed down to my son and then his son and then his son.
but really, rogue will probably have a better resale value due to the name recognition. Both are fine plates, and the cost difference is mostly negligible. If one is considering resale value for a brand new plates, perhaps basic used plates should also be considered. (assuming the reason resale is considered is because they're not sure if the home gym thing is right for them)
You still have to pay tax per the IRS…just sayin. Difference is Rogue has the back-end software to incorporate it at time of sale. And if you’re only in Cleveland then you’re better off driving to pick up if you’re doing a full order of 500+ lbs.
@@kevin_rsg_18Happy you plan to pass your plates down multiple generations, but keep in mind this is one of several considerations people make when buying equipment. Rogue will hold its value significantly better over time. Maybe your great great grandkid needs money one day. Those Rogue plates will almost certainly provide a better ROI.
Ok, but compare them to plates from Barbell Standard.
Barbell standard plates cost $145 for a pair of 45# plates with free shipping
Strength Co plates cost $195 for a pair of 45# plates with a n additional $29 shipping (to where I live) for a total of $224
Are these plates really worth the additional $80? If I bought 2 pairs of plates from Barbell Standard I would save myself $158 meaning I could still get an additional pair of 45# plates (3 pairs total) and still come out ahead. Perhaps someone needs to remind Strength Co that the Covid price gouging days are over.
Good on you for the mea culpa. Well done and much respect!
Thank you. Great follow up.
Your vids are the reason I bought these for my home gym during quarantine. Plus they were local so I was able to pick up and avoid shipping fees
I thought something was missing in the plate review now I know what it is. Thank you for this video making Strength Co. the center of attention with their own video nice job!
Informative and hilarious! Thanks man
Whoa. Your studio is way bigger than I expected. Love the behind the scenes
It’s so sick. That’s the dream
if you REALLY wanted to apologize, you'd sign that puffy coat and send it to them... ;D
YES
Puffy coat for tribute!!
⬆️ This!
Glad you brought up the puffy coat issue. You cannot just sweep these thing under the carpet you know! Good man
Good job!
That’s the problem with modern day consumerism. The entire market is predicated on the “new” or the “innovation” and we all know who those companies typically are. Strength Co comes across as a bare bones organization that picked what they wanted to do. And they do it well. And for the most part, we don’t necessarily need “new” things all the time. All the bars and plates in my garage gym are from Strength Co and they are a great product/company. I love the classic minimalist approach.
The Stregnthco plates really are great. I have 3 pairs of 45s
My 45, 25, and 10s are rogue deep dish. My fives, 2.5s, and 1.25 are strength co. Both companies make top-notch play plates in my opinion. The strength co plates fit a little bit tighter to the bar and have sharper edges. You just can't beat the sound of deep dish 45 plates though!!!
after sooo many hours of research, between bumpers vs. cast iron and then which cast iron plates, i found strength co. it’s a full on risk to spend hundreds of dollars, if not more, on a full set of plates but man do i love these plates. i love old school gyms and so i ordered these and their squat bar. awesome products and very happy with the purchase.
Great video
Great vid 😊 have not heard of the brand until this video. Definitely gonna look into it and research thank you.
How had he not reviewed jacked up power racks yet!? One of the best values on the market.
Nice thing about these not only are they gorgeous easy to handle and fit snugg on the bar .but are also mostly all a bit lighter then 45lbs which is why brandon loves them so much..can now squat 6 per side ✌️
I Saw that video and my first thought was.. Damn that jacket looks cozy af, i wonder where i can get one like that.
Love the People Magazine cover
Thank you
I prefer the narrower profile of the Strength Co plates not because I need to load huge amounts of weight, but because they take up less storage space. I switched from bumper plates to Strength Co because I couldn't fit all my bumper plates into a Rogue 30" single post bumper plate storage shelf. The Strength Co fit perfectly, with just enough space to get my hands between plates and grip tightly before moving them. Rogue deep dish, with their wide profile, would have the same problem as bumpers.
Are the vulcan bumper plates in the background a sneak peak for an upcoming review video?
Coop and the folks at GGR are some of the most genuine, hard working, honest people that I see on social media. I can’t say that of all influencers on UA-cam but the positivity always shines through in each video this team posts. Keep up the great work guys.
Appreciate you!
your jacket is fine, i remember actually thinking dang Coop's fit is on point in this video
somewhat related: how big is your hat collection Coop? you always have on some sweet hats, especially like the vintage ones
I do have a LOTTTT of hats. I think it's a part of the whole losing my hair thing. I have more socks than hats though, to the chagrin of my wife lol. - Coop
Coop are any of your hats knurled😂??
Best response video ever.
I don't know about that puffy jacket but I do like that cap.
Now Strength Co. gets their own video.. it’s win win.
brand of the jacket?? I needa cop that
The Strength Co is also offering (what I think are) good shipping rates on these plates, which is another selling point to consider.
Please do a video on the best steel plate manufactures
Still love ya Coop. Apologies are hard and you did it with grace
Hi, could you do a review on this VERSE AGILE RACK? Nobody has decent detailed review on this. Thanks!
LOVE the strength co. plates. Also really excited to see the sledtred!!!
SLEDTRED-Is it any good??
The value definitely seems to be there :)
Hoping to review it! - Coop
I love the Rogue deep dish but they don't make a complete set in the deep dish line. For that reason, I'd probably go with Strength Co.
OKAY!
You're a good lad, Coop.
I think your puffy jacket is fine ✌️
I was thinking more South Park 🤣🤣🤣
You must respect my authorityyyyyyyyy - Coop
So glad I bought weight back around 2000. Paid like 40 cents a pound. Not US made though.
When my Dad turned 88 he gave me the plates he bought in 1946. These are what my brother and I started with in 1971. You may handle these things hundreds of thousands of times over many decades. Get good ones. They give a lot back.
I drove down to their warehouse. Owner was super cool
Man coop when you do some spring cleaning let me know so you can hook me up lol 😂
You messed up and you handled it perfect!
these plates look the best for sure
Hey, nothing to do with this video, I'd just like to see a powertec multisystem review
My only real problem with the Strength Co plates is that I'm not sure you can make a good deep dish corn bread in them (shout out to your corn bread deep dish plate review).
You should review the dd02 gmwd leg press as a budget alternative
I go with Strength Co!
A stand up Guy👍
Original video, and this one still missing coated iron or steel plates. E.g. Rep Urethane coated plates. Maybe you don't recommend coated plates? But I think it still deserves a mention. They're quieter than bare steel and you can fit more of them on a barbell.
DAMN, i wish i knew about this company.. i just spent $400 on four 45lb plates at Big 5. The Strength Co is less. Ill be shopping here now
good guy coop
Vintage milled York plates are great.
I Coop, yeah forget too review something
! Forgiven bro, as long as you review Rogue, calibrated weight plates and HG2.0 collars/ And the famous Rogue 45 lb -Ohio bar, and the plate loadable db-15 dumbbell bars as, those are what I I use most.. Next to the Ironmaster dumbbells with heavy handle ,and upgrade kits to 180 lb each dumbbell. x2 ..Yeah I am strong boy! Much luv from Tokyo,JAPAN!
Time to install a mini split in your warehouse studio
Coop, Whatever happened to Ivanko? I think they are still around but they are not a prominent brand. In the 90s, these were the best around. Well as far as I knew.
Yep! Told ya
Strength Co should do a puffy coat collab with Coop made for unnecessary warmth inside a home gym. Then Coop can start a side channel called puffycoatreviews
Love my Strength Co. Plates. I really like that I can fit plenty of weight on a Rogue Stump Bar (shorty) but still have an ergonomic and safe way to handle the plates. They are the sweet spot of cast iron plates in my mind. I would buy them all over again if some jacked dude came and robbed me of them.
He was very wise to steal those Strength Co plates for his gym.
Depending on where you live, Strength Co can be WAY cheaper than rogue. Best looking plates currently in production IMO.
Are you guys ever going to review Griffin products?
Rogue deep dish counter please.
I love the look of the grey plates. I'm probably in the minority opinion here but I wish plates came in grey and not just black. I would buy these instantly.
That's how I feel about Rogue's Revolvers. I wish they came in black.
Came for the mustache, stayed for the integrity.
I just found a company called gmwd. Some of the reviews sound like they're alright, and their prices are pretty decent.
No mention of urethane weight plates in either video?
G'day Coops! 🇦🇺🪃
Jacob's Ladder review?
Might be nice if their company’s name was in the title for even more advertising
“Forgot” is code for, “my private equity overlords didn’t put them in the script.”
I’m going hunting for the puffy jacket video
biggins iron plate video when
I like Coop more now 😊
Cool
These look like York Barbell’s plates.
I'm still upset that after requesting a few times over the years that you haven't reviewed Biggins Iron Weight plates.
This calls for a mandatory 100 push ups, 100 squats and 100 sit ups for your screw up.
Then you can carry on. 😂
Make it right by sending me some free used knee sleeves
man if i weren't born yesterday i would assume this wasn't a mistake at all!
Anybody found the coat?
Did he he shoot the finger at the end of the video? He did! What is up with that Coop?
He already ranked them. He gave them the Award for Best Home Gym Plates last year…….
How did it feel when Burt Reynolds passed you the torch?
Watson stainless steel Olympic plates are the best you can’t beat it
