- "How Lovely" is based on my original characters, Victoria (purple hair) + Camille (brown hair) and you may recognize Victoria from my previous songs such as "Immortal" and "May I Have This Dance"
I'm slowly showing off the lore I have for Vic and Cam, one song at a time! This song is about Victoria reluctantly falling for Camille. I read too many fics from the enemies to lovers tag on AO3 (my absolute favourite other than Soulmate AUs)
I was going for a 2010s Pop/Musical Theatre Vibe for the Instrumental and I hope that came through in the finished product. I hope you enjoy my song! I had so much fun writing it (recording not so much, my alto ass CANNOT belt for the life of me but eh, I try my best anyways.)

That literally happened to me my freshman year of college, with this short pink haired girl. ohmygod. i get it.
may i have this dance is the first in the saga, the introduction to these two. victoria's the vampire, finding camille on an evening stroll and deciding to try and get an easy meal. although camille's a vampire hunter, she was prepared. the chase turns on victoria, but they end up at a standstill. neither is going to give up, and both are tired of it. so, they attempt to befriend each other. they warm up to each other. and victoria starts catching feelings. this is where how lovely starts. the two get their happily ever after, however it doesn't last. an accident occured, and camille was killed.
years later, victoria finds camille once again. it wasn't her. it couldn't be her. but it was, no one else could have those eyes, no one else could cause that flutter in her stomach. the cycle happens over, and over, and over. victoria, doesn't die, because she's a vampire. she's immortal, cursed to live the pain of watching her lover die. murder, old age, cancer, burning, drowning, all of it. and yet, victoria keeps finding her again and again. it's all she looks forward to now, all she sees in the world. after each death, she would just wait. wait until fate brought her back to camille.
was it really a curse, to relive the pain constantly? or was it a blessing, did cupid smile upon them and allow victoria to see her love once again?

I'd prefer to interpret it as the immortal character being excited whenever they get to see their old flame again and sad when they leave but, knowing they'll meet again soon enough.
Add Vice & Virtues to the mix too. But Camille is the one singing.

My brother (pretty right leaning conservative who obviously doesnt know I'm gay af) was showing me the "new song" he had put on his playlist for his dnd character, then proceeded to put on Outmatched, at which point I nearly lost it as I realized who he was listening to. After Outmatched, it went onto a "similar songs" type playlist, and this song came on and I swear I have never been SO close to just completely accidentally outing myself XD this song is just too good, the effort it took to pretend I had no idea what it was was astronomical lol

My favourite line was the part about the hunter falling for their prey
So I was reading the description and my head canon is
It goes this song-Victoria finds Camille before she gets turned into a vampire and is an awkward dorky woman who loves Camille whose the more confident of the two because she’s a vampire hunter with a bubbly personality
Then it goes may I have this dance- Victoria gets turned into a vampire and starts to embrace the power and strength she now has and has a couple of run ins in with cammy whose supposed to kill her but because they know each other and because of toris new power she’s actually intrigued by toris seduction and submits to toris will
Then comes waltz of the hunter they dance and fall in love
Then comes immortal- cammy ages due to her being human while tori stays the same age she was when she became a vampire, watching as cammy ages and dies but is reborn through countless life times all the while tori is ageless and finding her again and again remembering all the lives they’ve lived together and singing to cammy to try and remind her of those lives

and they one of them has purple hair
and the other one has brown hair
and they like eachother
the resemblance is uncanny
same with me, although my purple-haired girl has a much lighter shade of purple and my brunette has darker skin than camille. still, it's a funny coincidence.
