Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant...this really hit home with me. Excellent detail and showing it in motion near the end of the video was exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you, Russell.

My intention is to allow the right shoulder to meet the chin while looking down behind the ball. Only after ball contact do I release my head towards the target. This requires a full back swing and not lunging with the upper body as the first move down. Loose arms and wrists are the key.

The left shoulder being a pendulum literally was my ah ha moment, it enables the club to release up then down through the hands, this drill helps with making sure to release the hands. Great drill.

This might be a no-no, but I actually started feeling like my head goes back during the down swing. This stuff about the head going forward has been my driver fault for so long that I need to have that feel in order to stop sliding forward.

Like really like this swing but when I bring to the course I hit fat. Any ideas from anyone. Thanks!

Nobody talks about moving the head because of tension and expectations. As you come down in the downswing, if you Start moving the head to peek, that results in the most inconsistent shots. And the faster you peek, it results in either topped shots or wild pulls. Or a block.
Swinging without any expectations is key. I don't see anyone talk about this.

I can do exactly what you’re teaching when the balls not there. The golf ball is evil and brings out the worse in me! Any suggestions on hitting the ball with a practice swing? Thx

I had the same issue. Call me crazy but I don’t look at the ball but rather an imaginary line 45 degrees from the back of the ball to right of me. While I keep my eyes on this during the downswing, I find my body tilts and my head stays behind and I generate a better swing

Absolutely disagree, if you start tilting on the downswing right side collapses weight will be on the back foot massive block or slice, if you extend the left side while maintaining height of right side all good, try it.

Russell, you would be an excellent instructor if you just stop pontificating on all your videos…get to the point and stop talking

I like this feel but why do I hit behind the ball and fat it on the course? Any ideas?
