Yes there is a washer that goes on the oil filter spring against the filter. Enjoying this build series and I am getting ready to start a build to put a 77 back on the road.
Another great video! I have been binge watching the whole series before I start restoring a 79 model. Please keep the videos coming. Looking forward to seeing it all come together!
Hi , The water pumps on the gl1000 tend to leak coolant when they get old or reach high mileage, There is a vent hole in the outer casting which tend to drip when warm quite often this hole gets plugged with road muck, The pump you have looks OEM ,plastic impeller ,My GL is a very early 75 KO From The USA & the pump fitted has a metal Impeller ,i suspect retro fitted at some time , They can be changed when engine is in frame However the upper screws holding the front case on can be awkward to get at because of the frame tubes hope this helps , By the way i got my first wing in 79 still have a1000 a1100 & a 1800 .!!!!!!
Great video, looking forward to more. Thank you for taking the time to share the adventure.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Some great tips there!
I managed to replace the neutral switch with engine in frame. Not fun but possible using a wedge between engine & frame. 😵💫
