What a great interview with Carey! This man has so much common business sense, and is just a solid dude. His view of how sponsors are getting the shaft makes so much sense. I wish Feld would hear his voice. It would make our sport so much bigger in the long run. Thanks for the awesome show guys!

Hey guys, it's Diamond Dave here you know the "one-trick pony"? Actually I had about five tricks down and did pretty good at step up too. Lol. I have to agree, Carey absolutely, unequivocally changed the whole freestyle industry. The day I saw him land his first flip at gravity games was the same night I stayed up and watched it frame by frame hundreds of times to try to figure it out. In fact, it's what got me to basically sell my motorcycle shop and go out and start riding freestyle. You can only imagine how that would change your life, so yes Carey, you completely changed the whole course of my life and the course of the whole freestyle industry, thank you bud. I remember when we were all of X-Games 2003 or 4 and Metzger and Adams were the only guys doing a 75-foot flip. I never tried one more than 45 ft. so I figured there was an ambulance and TV cameras running, so I figured I would huck 75tft and ended up landing three or four perfectly. But, then a couple guys started trying it and ended up wadding so I pussed out and stuck with a 45. I remember nate Adams coming up to me and asked when I started flipping 75 and I said "just now." He looked at me and asked if I practiced it in foam and I said nope, and he just shook his head. What else could I do, I didn't have access to a foam pit. 😁

I was a 15 year old kid (in Australia, in a small country town) and my mates and I where at school and sat in the computer room through lunch waiting for Carey Hart's backflip video to load, we sat for the whole lunch break and it still never loaded properly and we could only watch up to where he was about to hit the up ramp 😂😭 we still had to rely on VHS and magazines as the internet was still in infant stages. José Yañez did it first on a 80cc bike in Colorado in the early 1990s. Years later, Caleb Wyatt was the first guy to do it on a bike meant for adults, he did it in Oregon.

Just got to the feld part and had to chime in. They suck. Look at what they did to monster trucks. Just ruined it. Went from actual competetive racing with individual teams to just a circus side show and the promoter owning pretty much all the trucks. What happened to the goo ol days of ford vs chevy . Sure hope someone steps in and helps supercross before feld just ruins that too. Get rid of monster and bring back camel as the title sponsor. Back to the good ol days!!! lol

2:29:00 The moment I was waiting for. Carey talking about Feld not allowing his team to effectively promote their sponsors. They wont even allow a full race from someones GoPro to be uploaded... Same as them not allowing anyone to promote CBD products and then doing it themselves the next year. Most definitely time for a new company to come in and change things to make it better for the riders and spectators. For now, we pay for Peacock and get dead air during commercials and mediocre coverage during qualifying. Now JGR is gone and Moto Concepts is going to Arenacross...

Switching to USADA may be slightly better but it will not fix everything. Look at the UFC. They still use the Olympic model for the punishments which doesn't make since for MMA & it definitely doesn't make sense for SX & MX. A 2 year minimum suspension (before appeal) only makes sense for Olympic athletes because most of them really only care about competing at the Olympics or to a lesser extent the world championships that happen 2 years after the Olympics.
SX & MX & also UFC should have a model closer to the NFL which suspends first time offenders 4 games and 2nd time offenders 8 to 10 games. 4 games is 25% of the season that is pretty substantial & makes sense. 2 years for a guy who races outdoors & indoors is 58 races not including off-season stuff like monster cup straight rhythm or Geneva & Paris. That's a crazy penalty & is a potential career Ender for at least half of the competitors.
I don't care if USADA does the actual testing but Feld or AMA needs to grow some balls & come up with predetermined punishments for the most common offenses. They need to come up with punishments that are stiff enough to deter cheating but make sense & don't end guys careers the first time. Also if guy gets caught with trace amounts of something that wouldn't even help a racer, it clearly is a contaminated substance like protein powder or something, that should be a slap on the wrist if it is obvious a guy wasn't trying to cheat. This should be common sense! WTF is the AMA & Feld doing just sitting back and watching the FIM fu*k American racers in the a$$ over & over again, their not even on this continent. Grow a pair guys!!!

KTM didn’t get GasGas cheap as, Sherco were also bidding for it. only mistake KTM have made imo is not keeping the GG brands seperate, from KTM/Husky eg popular brands like KYB, Nissan etc, which contributed to the re launch of GG in 2018, to do what they have done with Husqvarna to GG is arrogant and a fail, the market can’t handle GL is smack on i, 3 of the same bike different colors!
But It can handle completely different brands no problem, Tarrot / GG were making good bikes in the comeback, the problem was too fold, poor management and the fire in the factory late 2018, must have hurt, the new bikes 2t 300/250 were good the planned Ranger series was a big step and well received. So I think it’s gone over most heads as to WTH KTM are doing, KTM may get its wings clipped its gotten so big and it will also be interesting to see how much is pushed into the chinese factory they have been building since 2014, the Duke as I understand it and the car version will come out of the Chinese factory, talk about the Adv bikes may also be palmed off to the Chinese affiliate KTM program, beginning of the end of empire imo. Time will tell. GG still made dam good Trials bikes, but the MX program don’t get it either.
I thought Pastrana was the first to backflip, I watched that live on X Games back in the 90s, maybe my mem is failing me or maybe it was the first in competition? Corey is a legend though and respect man. 🤙
