  • It's topwater time!!
Although most topwater lures will catch both redfish and trout, there are some lures that will increase your chances of catching one over the other.
To see what these lures are, in this video, we're going to dive deep into what we know about redfish and trout, including:
    What they eat
    How they hunt for food
Their biology (including what the structure of their mouths has to do with fishing)
    And much more
As we cover how to target each species with topwater lures, I'm going to be breaking down and reviewing two different lures and sharing why they're specifically good for targeting one species over another.
I'll also show you some on the water footage of these tips in action.
Have any questions about catching fish on topwater lures?

The BEST presentation I do believe I have ever seen on how/why the differences between the different frequencies of rattle-noise attracts different fish.

Your video on scent trails was probably the most valuable fishing tip I ever got. The redfish jaw tip is another keeper, thanks.

Great Top water tips !! I fish top water 90% of the time for reds and trout and I agree with your logic ! My favorite is the skitter v and skitter walk by Rapala. They are a good all around lure that catch reds and trout the same for me. Thanks for the video !!

Excellent dissection and instruction, thank you. I have put single hooks on nearly all my walk-the-dog saltwater topwaters and have seen no difference in hook-up percentages, I'd do the same on either of these. Your video is superb interpretation of the sounds produced and how the lure sits at rest in the water upon landing or during pauses.

Excellent information! We're just now really getting into the low country inshore fishing of Savannah Georgia!

Very educational video. Just curious what the water depth was where you caught these fish. Didn’t appear to be more than a foot or two.

Can you please do a test of regular vs. "Long Cast" reels? Looking to get a Penn conflict long cast but want to know how much better they are

I often hear above the sound that fish make under water and so forth. I’d like to someday see you do a video where we can hear what bait fish really sound like..

I'm a believer in Yo-Zuri lures, especially the 3DS Minnow...I caught my PB speck on it last year..and then bettered it a week later.

Maybe because you use those lures alot. My PB red and trout caught on spook jr. Always use spook jr.

I noticed you fished using treble hooks but you tell us to change to single hooks because it is better for the fish.

Put your mic vertical. The blue yeti doesn’t have any mics on the top, so no reason to point it at your face
