Correction (for 6:10 to 6:39): As clarified in the comments, Herta in fact does factor in how many enemies drop below 50% hp and her follow up attack deals instances of damage equal to the number of enemies that registered dropping below 50%. The part where I was referring to her only being able to follow up attack once was in reference to how the actual proc itself only happens once. So she can spin multiple times if multiple enemies drop below 50% hp in one turn, it's just in the same activation and not over multiple activations. It's still completely hamstrung by the inability to proc it more than once per target, making it completely useless vs single target bosses. I admit my mistake in the number of follow up hits, but the only situation where that actually matters is in situations that don't actually matter (i.e. farming calyxes). Thank you for the clarification though!
Erudition units right now is starting to get obsolete. Destruction units also possess AoE damage and can even outdamage them with easier conditions to fulfill than Erudition units.
Clara's enhanced counters and skill deals a lot of AoE damage more than Erudition units especially when she lands on marked ones and all she needs is to get hit.
Blade absolutely crushes AoE clearing because of his SP neutral buff and the follow up attack.
Jing Yuan is the only one that is relevant right now because of his inflated numbers although it requires a lot of setup.
Basically it only proccs the aoe once per enemy, so when it’s a single enemy it’s only one activation unless they call in more enemy which means harder fights and dragging it out longer if you want hearts to be main dmg dealer which is why it’s not that good because unless they rework her passive or something it’s only good at farming because farmings actually have “wave” contents which she would be good at due to number of enemies… ya know… her passive actually works then
Which is why people are using her in the MoC and stuff.. the boss basically summons it’s own wave every other turn when the minions die, so Herat would do quite the dmg when built because that’s like the one scenario where it would be insane, she’s Seele when that happens, basically it’s a niche character now, like venti, good at wave contents
Wanted to make a stance for Herta… now I think you shouldn’t build her just for the situation unless you really like her charachter and kit or have unlimited time and resources somehow. So have fun I think imma go back to Herta Himeko farming now…
I think it's obvious that Herta and Himeko were made for Calyxes. They're both "lazy" or can't be bothered by trivial tasks. They shine in gold calyxes, but suck elsewhere. Their combo essentially allows auto battle without turning on auto battle.

You know, no one plays her but Herta can surprisingly hold her own against the Abundance Deer. Their main weakness is Ice and they summon multiple branches. Killing off those branches first before the deer charges its attack is crucial and Herta can deal no problem thanks to her AOE DMG.
Hmmm, maybe. But I don't think killing off those branches is crucial. Killing it off will only make the Deer spawn them again and even if you can destroy it fast, you'll prolong the cycles. Might as well just ignore it and keep attacking the Deer. Should be fine with healer / Gepard.
Actually people are starting to use herta in this cycle due her strength in floor 6 and 10.

It's Funny how it was made for Herta.
I feel like from a canon perspective, it makes sense that Herta isn’t super strong, because that’s not the actual Herta, but a puppet that she controls from some unknown place.
I imagine that there’s a possibility that we meet actual Herta at some point, and she’ll be a hell of a lot stronger than her puppet.
I'm seeing a pattern of starter characters possibly getting upgrades. First the main character and now dan heng I think March 7th is really likely.

2. herta can still apply freeze through weakness break (although she doesn't have any means of freeze ulike gepard skill or march ult
Yeah anyone else putting their stocks on the possibility of a 5 star herta because we have yet to see her main body (the one we play as is a puppet). Dan Heng is getting a 5 star form so hopefully Herta gets one too. Hell it also makes sense for her.
Spoiler: Every single low rarity member of the main crew will get a 5* unit of a different element.

I specifically singled out Herta because she's not a part of our main crew but she has a possibility of getting a 5 star version. That cannot be said to characters like Asta and Serval.

@@sanjeethmahendrakar Herta is literally an emanator of erudition, by this I mean that in her real body she is on the level of beings like Phantylia.
I find the timing of this really funny, because in the current combat event, it gives us the one situation in the entire game where Herta is worth using over the other erudition units! Waves of multiple weak refreshing enemies on a semi-strict turn limit! Himeko is also good here, too!
(But you don't have to build either anyways, the game gives you trial versions)
The event literally tells you: Build Herta, you'll save yourself massive amounts of time when you're grinding experience.

Pure Fiction: I'm about to change this character's whole career
I'm really excited about the upcoming pure fiction since it's a MoC made for AoE characters to shine including Herta and Himeko who've been struggling in single target situations.
I love how it completely changed with the release of Pure Fiction and how an AOE follow-up attack that you basically get with her permanently is op in it. Everyone (including me) are scrambling to build the apparently worst units (Herta and Himeko) to get better clears in Pure Fiction LUL
Didn't really change anything. Her multipliers are still bad, her talent is still situational. The only thing that made her viable is due to the enemies' HP in Pure Fiction being almost the same as in the farming nodes (aka Calyxes).
So yeah, Pure Fiction is just really designed for Erudition characters in general. Also, if Pure Fiction somehow adds more stages and the enemy HP there increases, the threshold for her multipliers may be reached and it'll be much harder for her to out DPS those stages.
But for now, she is the cheapest alternative, that's without a doubt.
always felt himeko was pretty decent to be honest, definitely more solid than herta on blast/st scenarios
Herta and Himeko are great at shredding mobs, and honestly these should be more types of encounters where you have to wave clear alot of mobs

There actually is something like that. In the restricted zone, a little robot gives you a challenge that involves getting through a lot of guards without getting noticed and/or fighting them all. If one guard is alerted, all the other guards get alerted too. There are three levels to this challenge, and the last one involves fighting 40 guards. That's a lot
your wish just came true.
Erudition as a whole is class that struggles hard in the current game content, but yes Herta got the short end of the stick in an already short stick.
The biggest problem with Herta is because the one thing that sets her apart from the other free Erudition characters, her follow-up attacks, are INCREDIBLY limited.
If she was more like Himeko and could trigger them off of weakness break, she'd probably be in a much better place meta wise.
But she really does proc her talent for each enemy that drops below 50%. So if 5 enemies drop below 50% at the same time, she procs her talent 5 times at once. Her follow up attack can even proc more follow up attacks for each additional enemy that drops below 50%. You can even try it right now. The current event, Tales of Fantastic, Scene 1, she has a built trial version along with trial Himeko, which actually clears the multi-wave nature of enemies. She does have her uses, but not really for drawn out fights.
Her kit is niche, but when it works, she is a godsend. Something like Memory of Xianzhou Stage 6 first half for example. Imagine she clears one of the hardest content in the game in 0 turn.
Forgive me for misunderstanding, but doesn't Herta spin 5 times if you hit 5 enemies below half at the same time? The follow-up attack even triggers itself if the first one hits an enemy below half. But yeah, her main issue is getting a whole 1 proc per boss fight.
She will trigger her talent multiple times if she see in different instances enemies hit 50%. Which mean that her Follow up can trigger Her follow up. When it triggers multiple times in one instances the damage adds (she dont spin 2 times, but in 1 spin dealts damage 2 times).
Does she??? I feel like my Herta would randomly just spin unpredictably
@@conejitorosada2326 Yes. They do it that way for reduce the time that the animation would take if she randomly proc the animation 3 or 4 times in a row.

one thing about the playable Herta we have in the game is that it is just one of her dolls and not her real body and I think there must be a real herta somewhere that might become playable at some point in the future (correct me if i'm wrong).
Lorewise, she feels like the most likely candidate to squeeze an entire squad out of, since they could easily do different doll variants designed for different jobs on the Space Station, or model after the actual Herta at different points in her life.

The only thing I'll say about HSR is that 4* feel great in this game, Herta included, while 5* feel even better. I'm just glad being able to play 4* with 5* on the almost same playing field doesn't feel forced.
One thing that helps is that the base stats of the 4* and 5* characters differ little. Seeing the differences mainly in traces.

I find her to be amazing the more she's invested in, which can be said for all characters sure but it feels especially better with her. Or maybe that's just having the community's incredibly negative opinion on her for a good while affecting my thoughts on her lol

Herta may not be "meta" but what she lacks in that department, we can all agree she makes up for it through her meme-ablity alone, like i will never get tired of those "kuru kuru" and "kukurin" memes

Herta's Follow-Up Attack is just a bonus. Most of her damage comes from her Skill & Ultimate. Also it seems like we'll be getting E6 Herta for free some time in the future if Simulated Universe continues to give us free copies of her for every new planet.
The problem with is her numbers just suck. Her skill and ult only does damage. She has a bunch of bouns damage from traces. But that's just to make it deal normal damage as any other unit. No utility, sup bar damage, no debuffs, nothing. Just sup bar damage. That's all she does. Doesn't matter where her damage comes from, it's still gonna be terrible.
Not… too sure what you are talking about there. Herta’s follow-up does much more damage than her skill and ultimate as long as you have a second AoE character and are fighting against three+ enemies.
Her numbers are pretty poor in comparison, but Herta becomes overwhelmingly powerful if you are farming mobs and are not fighting singular boss enemies.
Even then, she is also very strong when you are using Elation Blessings in SU. Even a single activation can dish out almost 30% _even_ to a (relative levels) boss if to have the right blessings.
@@uyeah1234 Her scaling is the same as Jing Yuan. It is just that Jing Yuan ges LL as his talent while Herta gets her spinning talent.
@@winterFox2rthey do have higher values I have a fairly built lvl 77 Herta and her ult + skill combo kills most none elite enemies b4 her talent procs on elites it’s still going to do more dmg even if you can get follow ups off of summons bc they have higher numbers and get more bonus dmg from her traces and cons
I do however like pairing her with either a Hunt or single target destruction character bc once and enemy is below 50% her auto gets the dmg bonus instead of the skill and now you have a lot of skill points for another character to use
Personally I love her, and she’s my favorite despite being mid overall
Can’t deny for some players her and march are their only ice types and only Herta does dmg between the two and the can make a pretty synergistic f2p ice team if ya got nothing else
sometimes she’s gotta rely on my pela/sw when the enemies aren’t ice weak but eh so do most of my characters tbh except seele and. Clara
Side note her follow ups can proc seele’s resurgence if they kill

the same way we have both Dan Heng and Lunae in HS as different units in the game I want to believe the the REAL Herta is an upcoming character who will live up to her reputation as one of the members of Genius Society, what we're playing with as of now is one of her hundreds of puppets that she dispatches for mundane chores around the station, which is why she's so underpowered.
think of the real one being able to use the puppet's kit but hundreds of times better, or use the puppets as her kits like characters from Naruto can use them as weapons

It would be nice to see her talent changed to be every 25% increment once per turn end instead of 50% hp once per enemy
The thing that could slightly impove Herta is if her talent was more of a "whenever an enemy's HP drops below 50% Herta will perform a follow-up attack multiplied by the total amount of enemies below 50% HP" it wouldn't include enemies that are eliminated but it would still give her a dps boost for every enemy that is still alive.
Or make her do a follow-up attack when an enemy's toughness breaks (kinda like Himeko's talent but on a 4* character).
Herta received some love with the addition of Swarm Disaster, where she can shine with Remembrance Path, but that is a very niche thing.
Besides, as long as you add Disassociation blessings in your other path runs, you can easily replace Herta with any other AoE character as long as you have March in your team.
But, she does spin 1 more time for every enemy that goes under 50%

I can see them tuning her kit down from the beta due to being able to unlock multiple eidolons of her through simulated universe, as opposed to the the other non-MC free units where you only get one copy guaranteed.
I use Herta only for EXP grinding, along with a borrowed Himeko. An interesting upgrade would be that after enemies are down to 50%, besides the initial proc she would use the follow up every time she uses her skill and use it as many times as there are sub50 enemies.
My girl herta helped me complete forgetten hall. And i always smile when i hear kuru kuru.

Just holding out that Herta the puppet is what's weak, and we get the real Herta later and she's much stronger.

10:23 jing yuans main source of damage (lightning lord follow up) is focused aoe, it targets one enemy and deals full damage to them and the other enemies take around 25% of what LL does to the main one

I run Herta on my farming team and shes great at clean up for it. I know that people are not necessarily thinking about farming set ups rn, but shes a very good unit for it.

I've been pretty impressed with the amount of free characters you get you even get a 5 star not to far in for no money. Also I started about a couple of weeks in but still got serval, so the list of free starter players are
Trailblazer physical - standard by the books kit
Dan heng- a hunt character that is honestly pretty useful early on since he deals relatively good damage and could be your only wind for a while ,
March 7tha pretty consistent single block tank that like the future trailblazerfire she's best in either a nice role or as a bit support to another healer or in the future other tank units as her kit on her own without a healer or 2nd tank isn't really good enough to be the teams only option
Serval- straight forward unit that uses multiple enemy dmg attacks while also having intrinsic shock/DoT built in without the need to weakness break
Herta , you covered most in thus vid, she's basically what serval is for DoT she's for follow up asks, introductions to these concepts ai. Units builds but not exactly the best at them
Asta- a support with atk built in in the form multi hit asks that's strong for weakness break so she helps players learn this concept as well as speed and turn manipulation.
Natasha- a standard healer , basic atk, skill heals 1 player and ultimate heals all characters not much more to it in terms of game play
it appears what she needs is either a stat boost or an additional supplementary freeze in her kit, or well y'know, a full rework

Ehh at least the only WNOP worthy units besides Herta are Arlan, and possibly Himeko (& Phys Trailblazer).
All other units are okay-ish at least but tbh I won't be surprised if March somehow made it here
I play her with himeko, pretty sure erudition just isn't really meant for single target it's kind of the nature of the how they work. she's also pretty alright on full ice teams, so if you have her yanqing and march I think she becomes a lot more useful you could also slap gepard in there probably or silver wolf depending on the enemies. this comp is helped if you have e6 march for heals
Yes, Erudition being compared to the Hunt for single-target damage is a peak display of mobile game player brains.
Erudition is great when bosses resummon smaller enemies, and Herta even gets to deal extra damage to the boss itself with each follow-up.
Silver Wolf is great for her, too.
I use her all the time for her follow up attack, and I thought she would be used by other people bc of it too, like, I though she was a A tier character, I was so surprised of seeing this video 😂

6:37 She does spin multiple times when she downs enemies to bellow half HP tho, the assessment on this part of her kit is wrong, she does not go for multiple separate spins yes, but she spins more times on that one attack
Also a lot of people have the misconception that her MAIN DPS lies on her spinning, that's wrong too, although that is her unique trait and what you'll usually want to bring her for, both her ult and her skill deals WAY MORE dmg than her spin, so what your chosen lightcone buffs is very important too
I still use her from time to time. Her follow attack is crazy good and it is my first time having a character who does a follow-up attack. I don't have those 5 stars crazy chick with follow attack but she will do just fine for me as a F2P.

its funny that almost all tier lists regard her as very hard/not worth to use when almost all the event trial battles ive seen so far that feature her as a trial character make for absolutely fun himeko-herta duo shenanigans
but i suppose those event battles are tailor made for the trial units to shine so yeah
I also play all ice characters and do the freeze path. The NPC has 0 chance to even move.
C tier on paper, S tier in our hearts. Build her with love and time, you would be surprised(also she loves to eat deer).
I used Herta a lot on Grinding, Farming and Simulation Universe, specially if the enemies weakness is Ice and want to go on *Offense* hard without Preservation and Abundance Units in line up. She dishes a lot of damage hard when she is well equipped crit set and some bonuses in E6
For Dan Heng, a starter we have 4s version and later are about to get a 5s version. As a genius society member and supposed emanator of erudition, i suspect the same will be true for herta in the future, a 5s version; as the 4s version we have now is just one of her semi-mass produced puppets.
Herta will always be my favorite ice charcter and will almost never leave my team unless she needs to... until a cooler ice user comes along
I've actually been planning to build my Herta to use in a follow up attack comp with March, Himeko, and Fire Trailblazer. Just Because.
I play Herta more than March in the simulated universe and Calyxes after getting Natasha because Herta has constant follow-up attacks that help me in those battles. But I do think what you said is true and I may replace her after getting a better character.
I have a E6 herta and decent built, she slaps especially o alot of enemies or even some bosses! She's so underated tbh, she deserves more attention.
I wouldn't even say it's a Herta issue.
More of that Erudition has to compete with Hunt for their own role. Hunt can do mob clearing with speed stat/buffs, and it doesn't have to lose out on single target damage to do it.
She's a victim to being in a low priority character in a low priority path.

When it comes to narrative vs gameplay, it reminds me of Candace and Nilou in Genshin. One is the descendant of a king mentioned in more than half an entire countries side quests and an entire faction of enemies dedicated to him, and one is a dancer girl with a kind heart. Narratively, its clear who has more impact, but when it comes to gacha, well the character that's 5 star isn't who makes sense in the plot.
I wonder how future erudition characters will do ?
Maybe if one erudition light cone give them bonus damage when they hit a single target with aoe (like a boss once you cleared the little adds) ?
talking about seele and jingyuan in terms of turns is pretty funny
if i ever lose 50/50 and if it's to himeko i'm tempted to build herta just for her, cause so many follow ups seems so fun!
Then Pure Fiction came out in January and Herta is suddenly a top-tier Unit.
No worries Herta Mains, one day and it’s for sure that we’ll get a new and (hopefully) better Herta.
One thing to note about Herta that isn't mentioned in this video.
She is HIGHLY dependent on her signature light cone in order to deal any amount of damage whatsoever with Puru Puru. Perhaps the nerf was based on the fact that with S5 "The Birth of Self," she actually might do some decent damage with Puru Puru. However, if you never draw that light cone at all, her Pururin follow-up attacks will hit like a wet noodle with those craptastic multipliers.
She was fun with Himeko in the current event, but it was tailor made to fit those two ^_^

Herta and Himeko is the best pair when farming for level up book.

Next character covered should obviously be Arlan. I'd hold off on doing a Sampo video since Kafka's release will likely see an uptick in usage for both him and Serval.

Well she's the only one who kan kuru kuru, so she's the best at it.
Like Himeko, Herta should have a another way to trigger her follow-ups against elites and bosses. Aside from that, her skill should have another function when it deals damage to enemies under 50% since it no longer has any bonus damage; then again, you could just spam her basics since it deals extra damage to those enemies but then she wouldn't be doing her role as an aoe dps.
she's good around mid game and exploration with Himeko.
Herta is very good at dealing with problems we simply don't see all that often. And people who can afford to reliably get characters out of gacha banners have received some tools which are overpowered in the sense that the game isn't trying hard to counter them. As long as that remains true, some of those supersede Herta's abilities. She's entirely solid, but this game's combat system feels like the entire point is to completely break it in one way or another, and she just doesn't stretch that far.
With the Elation path, her and Clara carried me further than I ever should have gone in the Simulated Universe
