This here is exactly what made Zeppelin so diverse and so much to contend with musically. There’s nothing they couldn’t do when you have this level of creativity and musicianship in the back of your pocket.
It genuinely annoys me that John Paul Jones is so great yet not as well recognised as Page, Plant and Bonham. He was the best musician in Zeppelin, excellent on so many levels; melody, tone, rhythm, chops. The dude had it all, and apparently still does!!
The bassist typically just doesn’t get the recognition others get, and whatever, it is what it is. I felt so annoyed for him when Page and Plant got together for that concert in the 90’s and Jones wasn’t part of it. Why wouldn’t they invite him??
@@krunchyfrogg I wish they would have invited Jones as well, but the reason they did not is that they did not want the pressure of it being Led Zeppelin and having to live up to that. Page and especially Plant wanted to do something a little more low key.
@@X1xone I heard something similar, but I think it’s a cop out. I mean, what’s everyone going to think with it “just” being “Page/Plant” and doing all Led Zeppelin songs?
I didn't even hear about this OR LAST YEAR'S APPARENTLY! The only thing I miss about the loss of A & E papers. Re his popularity - I think he sold his Rights at some point after Zep. Page knew he had half of his next Band in JPJones alone from session days.

The one and only, awesome John Paul Jones
Virtuoso for decades. Thanks John
Going to California! John Paul Jones is such a great musician. 🤩
Just beautiful
JPJ must be included in the Pantheon of the Greatest Rock N Roll Musicians of All Time.
What an amazing display of talent and skill ❤
Soo damn good!! He is the frame that Zep was built on. He held it all together.
So good - so talented.... Thanks for posting these videos.
He takes the tune to an understated, beautiful new place
magic
Thank you so much for posting this!
J PJ is a world class Musician!!!!

Pure magic. Thanks.
His talent is indescribable! ❤

Yep him and Bonham gave them that infamous sound
He is among real music lovers

Led Zeppelins silent giant
Roaring Rock whale song in low frequencies. Maybe low but penetrating & he said he was going to do a thing called 'Big Ears' & he keeps his Word.
Half of the greatest rhythm section ever
Love JPJ ♥️
Гениальный и очень милый, здоровья !
The silent assassin of Zeppelin!
he doesn't play blazing fast as bluegrass players, kind of a Bill Monroe ish style, just easy going pace and it rivets the audience... which i like.
His performances with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings are amazing ❤❤🤩
Would love to see him live
The Secret Sauce! JPJ
Wow, yours might have the best audio of this!
Without JPJ they would be a great band, with JPJ there the greatest band
No JPJ no Led Zeppelin, its that simple. What page and plant recently did by not inviting him . speaks volumes.
Robert should work with JPJ on new material.
Yeah agree. Plant won't do what's best for the fans. It's all about him.
