@Kase Keaton Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
oh i for sure know what you mean, and i kind of even gave enough info in this tutorial to learn to do it but i promise ill put a video out explaining how its done. till then you can look up how to draw form tutorials from fine artists and that will give you tons more knowledge on the topic
Hey Grim, i started in November 2023, and i just gotta say, this video helped me a lot! I was confused, but this really sorts everything out. I think you should also make some advanced tutorials if you haven't already, since they would help more advanced writers as well. Anyways, have a nice day!
@@Theartistblock so these are just Ideas •Maybe a list of cool color combinations as inspiration •Or different Line Weights in a Tag(hope that makes sense... xD) Really appreciate your work for us Lg Linkin Oh Edit:I saw the new video about th drawing tablet..Can you make a in depth tutorial about how to shade a dropshadow?!?!??pleeeeease😊😂
this tutorial series has been so helpful for me. i've been keeping up with the videos since it started (i literally found your channel a day before the first one.. lucky me!) and i applaud your willingness to keep up with this every day. i've learned so much about style and graffiti
lol im glad you learned a bunch, this took a ton of time to put together but im crazy excited to start working on the second bunch of videos. normally we upload once a week so this week was an exception but man am i happy with how it turned out
@@jennieredrose5819 before you download any of the books, lets see if i can help you really fast. id hate to have you grab the book up just for this little info lol. Ok ok ok so when we're locating the "apex" of any rounded shape, we are considering the "apex" to be the highest point RELATIVE to the direction of the 3D. At 5:27, had i drawn the 3D coming off the form lower than the apex then every part of the shape between my new line, and the actual apex would be missing 3D , it would look flat. If i drew my 3D line, above where the actual apex was then we wouldn't see the 3D line at all because it would have been behind the form. that means the apex has to be at the exact point where it's no longer behind the form, AND where it doesn't leave any of the form without 3D. if you'd like, reach out on Instagram and i can draw an example for you (just let me know it's you so im not confused lol). i do tons of critiques over there daily .
This video should teach you how to do for any and all letters numbers or even drawings in general. Just like math class where your teacher teaches you the formula for how to do a new type of equation I'm teaching you the formula here. If you know the formula then you can use it for anything. Something is bugging me, especially right here.....at 5:40 in.... I thought the definition of the word Apex meant the Highest Point..... Where your pencil and ruler are.... is not at the highest point. ""
for 3d and perspective, apex refers to the highest point relative to the perspective or the angle of 3d. This is how it's commonly taught and referred to as. its understood the apex is contextualized by the direction the 3d is meant to go. This is super evident when looking at 1 point perspective, you can kinda draw a cone from the vanishing point to the "apex" of the circle where the lines would protrude from. if we imagine the vanishing point as an eye then this point where the lines come from would be the highest points (the "apex) the vanishing point could see.
Nope not for isometric 3d being what graffiti uses. Graffiti's traditional 3D is pretty simple and basic, and uses isometric 3d instead of traditional 1 point perspective at very least like other art forms. You can certainly use 1 point perspective on graffiti, Iv even done 2 - 5 point perspective pieces of graffiti but this tutorial is for basic 3d
I was at school but I feel like your god level is beyond insane.I mean like your actually insane at graffiti and painting.Like screw collage I got everything I need in these vids. I’m still going to collage jk jk
i like the way ur explain this but i cant learn that way. u explain this more on the geometry side of it more on the Intellectual aspect of it witch is not bad but thats the whole reason y i dropped out of school. hahah. u no the is more easier way explaining it than haveing to get all smart on us hahah. but i get y ur doing it that way.
The Artist Block hahah oh no i didnt mean it as idk what to do or how to do it. im jus sayin that u get technical my man u explain it the longer way like u get in depth with it. i was tought to do 3d shadows it that it needs to match with the piece its hard to explain threw messages or txt or in writing but like if u do a drop shadow it all has to have the same thickness on every letter u no. an for 3d idk really much cuz i never really practiced that.
Its actually called a block out its a basic letter font. Calling it 3d confuses people the angle doesnt make it 3d its actually 2d unless with multiple letters in one peice you would change an angle giving you a third dimension. Those letters. Show a flat panel with one side thats 2d . to learn 3d look up 3d blocked. It helps to study fonts.
the apex is the highest point in something, especially when coming to a point. I recommend watching some how to draw form tutorials, if you learn forms you'll learn more than enough to do basic 3d
oh thankyou for bringing this to my attention, i made these vids so long ago i had forgotten that i gave a specific price. Short answer, the free and the $2.50 no longer exist. Over the past year or two I dedicated tons of time an money into upgrading the books with more and more chapters and to pay for these improvements I had to raise the price. These books were written by me with no editing, or knowledge of book writing so i made them pretty cheap as a result, they were also just a few pages. The e books initially were just a transcription of the video and that was really it, with the $2.50 version containing a few chapters more of info not found in the video. Now we've added lots to the book and we're currently getting all of the books fully professionally edited.

I was just kiddin man. I know all about dat drop 3D. It looks best with a bubble fill or a piano fill in it like the OGs used to do... a la Seen and Phase 2
nothing changed, the formula stays the same. Simply draw the 3D on the farther vertex that normally would be out of view. I recommend looking up proper form tutorials as they would teach realistic forms as opposed to isometric forms used in graffiti.
