Great stories Luke, the Tanami was a major influence of my life’s direction too. Went out to the Tanami Mine in 1996 for three months work, left in late 2001. Lived in the camp you helped build. Only yesterday had a call from my old boss, Bill Makar, who was the Chief Geo. Great people out there, and beautiful country.
Luke, great vlog mate - love the story telling along the way mate! This is what it is all about passing on memories and trips! Love the Starlink as well - sold! Putting one on my 200 next to the solar!
Tyres pressure sensors with an alarm setting are a great idea it's great watching as im very interested in travelling these roads the talks around the camp fire about the past are fantastic
Oh gosh, I feel like it’s going to be along ngt! Binge watching now. Love the old fella Richard stories esp about our cowboys out west. Been living remote Mt Isa and met a few old fellas over the yrs. Richard is the real old timer out west! Our neighbours used the choppers & motorbikes now but also still horses. Loved mustering time driving out the driveway & seeing them on the side of the road rounding & moving the cattle up. ESP the sexy cowboys 😂 which atlas map book u using Luke pls? I love my hand rd maps as well.
If you get a chance - Try to get a mic for shirt ,its a bit hard hearing and understanding what you ware saying over the engine noise. Great to be following your adventure - Safe Travels
Interesting chat,Luke! I can understand Aus lingo pretty well,,because of different friendships ive made over the years. It was interesting to hear the different styles and methods. Those huge stations in the outback are much larger than American and canadien places,,although there are still a few larger places. In the late 50s early 60s my Dads younger brother worked a place in southern Oregon called the ZX ranch,,was about 600,000 acres and its still intact. I love cattleman/cowboy history,,no matter where its from. Montana is a good place for that. Ive been curious about starlink,,i think the basic stationary plan is 150 dollars. I do detest that repulsive human,,Elon Musk,,and i hate to enrich him by even a cent. Thank Luke! Ttyl,,,Marlon
Great series when you return after the trip could you do a video on the drifta material packing bags you use. I could see myself replacing some of my plastic crates with some of the bigger sizes
The bags are great for space saving and keeping your weight down but how much time and effort do they add when packing and unpacking? Seems like it'd be better to use shelves/drawers more than using a pile of bags when changing campsites daily.
Great trip Luke!! So awesome to follow your adventures on a daily basis too. Wondering if you dropped tyre pressures at all yet; and what pressures you’re running. Thanks heaps for the ongoing videos - loving it!!👍
@@DriftaCamping4WD thank you Luke. I’m learning so much from your trip. Loving the stories from both you and Uncle Richard - pretty cool stuff, cool dudes too😂👍 I need to look into some more Drifta gear after seeing your set-up and how effective it all is!! Looking forward to more videos - it’s a lot of extra time and effort, so thank you!!🙌👌👍
@@DriftaCamping4WD I’m going to get my VW 4motion fitted with bigger tyres and lifted suspension after Beechy does another fitout to the new T6.1. Do you think the vehicle would handle the trip from Cameron’s to Coober Pedy?
Hi mate sorry but could you please improve the sound quality. I am having trouble hearing you in the cab. Otherwise I am enjoying your latest series. Cheers
@@DriftaCamping4WD thanks for trying. I don’t think that the iPhone will improve on what you have done. Appreciate the offer though. I hope you have a great trip. We did the canning last October and it was spectacular.
@@DriftaCamping4WD by the way if you have time the queen desert baths are worth a look. Nice swimming hole 😊, although the track in and out is quite heavily corrugated
Richard is a legend. The stories being told, have better storylines then a tv show.
Listening to these stories, I think I see where you got 'Drifta' from. Safe travels mate.
As a "Yank" 😊, these stories are great to hear. Window into a world that is so different from mine. Thanks Luke,
David A.
Very enjoyable series to watch, love your story telling. Setting around the camp fire telling stories is the best.
Love your stories. I’m reminiscing about old travels around Aus. 🙏
Amazing stories from the old timers. Love it.
Refreshing to see the rock being called Ayres Rock.
Its actually Ayers Rock
@@srowlandson My mistake. Thank you for pointing that out
Super interview Luke, well done. Good to capture that history.
thx mate : )
I like these blog style videos, where you're just telling us about the trip and yourself. Its unscripted and very genuine.
