Lorie I am so happy that your getting things up and running. Maybe check into a solar backup for your well pump? In fact it might be something to check into for a whole house backup solar. I know that there's several sales going on right now. Or there's a hand pump that can be installed so you don't go completely without water should your power goes out. Please make sure that they install frost free hydrants, then all you would have to do is make sure you disconnect your hose in the winter time. I have 6 trees that are dieing off as well. It's probably going to be extremely expensive to have them taken down. There's no way at all we can cut down 4 of them because they would most likely fall on the power lines, our propane tank, or our house. We had 120 mile hour winds come through in April and it took down one of our trees, it barely missed our house! 😮 The only damage we had was a branch tore a whole in the screen on a window. Getting your fence done will be a big help to you that's for sure. We have been so hot here yesterday was the worst our actual temperature was 104 with a heat index of 115. 🥵 If we're already getting this hot in July, I am not looking forward to August because it's our hottest month of the year. I can hear your excitement in your voice when talking about all the work being done. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. Thank You for sharing. Much love from our family to your family 💞

So happy for you getting everything done. I don't know much about those hydrants/faucets, but make sure they are frost free, otherwise you will have trouble in the winter. A lot of them are, but it doesn't hurt to make sure. If you had a hedge trimmer, you could use it on those woody weeds in the male goat pen. Wishing you the best with the contractors.

I'd call it a water spigot but I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about. My Mom had 2 giant ash trees cut down in her front yard and it broke her heart too. The guy told her they were dying inside and one good wind could bring them down onto her house. It looked really weird, and sunny, after they were gone.

@@LGHomestead you plug the panel into the battery system and the pump into it. When you open a hydrant the pump will turn on when the pressure tank starts pushing the water out.

I totally understand your issue with hiring contractors. It's so hard to get a good dependable one. I hired a man to work on my barn. At first he was great but as time went on his dependability decreased. Lots of days that he said he would be here he simply didn't show up and didn't even communicate. I always had to contact him to ask what was up and when he was coming back. He quoted the last part of the job to be done in 2 weeks. 2 months went by and he wasn't even halfway done and then just ghosted me. I had to hire someone else to finish the job. So frustrating 😫
