As I have mentioned in another context, these Hellboy videos have helped me hugely. I would like to make a one-off donation, ideally through Patreon. Is that possible (can't work out from the site)? Oh, and your rules summary for Eldritch Horror, which I downloaded 4 years ago, made the game so much easier for me to learn, as a noobie, and I would also like to acknowledge that.
Very inspirational Thank You. Never painted minis before, but bought the Hellboy game, wanted to learn. Your videos are an invaluable guide. I have question, when you show your fugures after you apply the basecoats (shirts, pants, froggy skin), they look the have highlights- almost different shades, or variation in the colouring. My frogmen basecoats just look flat. I'm wondering how this was achieved.
That's probably because I've thinned the paint somewhat - something I just do by long habit and have mentioned several times in my videos, but probably not here. Almost always, you'll want to thin your paint a bit with water so the paint flows on well and doesn't obscure the detail. If you're getting a thick, flat, solid coat in one go, and especially if detail is filled in, it probably could do with a little bit of thinning. If necessary, 2 thin coats are better than 1 thick one.
@@EsotericOrderGamers Ok, thanks for the response, I will try that. I thinned the paint a bit, but just enough to brush it on more easily. I also used black primer, not sure that would make a difference as well.
@@robster94gt I think using black primer will make it harder for you, especially if your paint is thinner. You may have to do several coats. I almost always prime white.

You can see how I textured them in part 1 - painting them is just a very dark grey, dry brushed grey, then very lightly drybrushed very very light grey (almost white).
Thanks for the vid. Nice to see a lot of different minis
Even more variety in the next episode - lots of character minis.
Just ordered this game (kickstarter edition) and I have never painted miniatures before. Dreading it, but also kinda excited.
Nice video, my man!
Welcome to your new hobby!
Great job, very helpful, thanks
Cheers.

Always the productive painter! Thanks for the video!
I churned out 2 Blood Bowl teams and all of Big Trouble in Little China between these videos too!
Wow you paint fast!!! How did you do the Nazi bases?

@@EsotericOrderGamers thanks for the info!
Frogs look disgusting, well done.
That's the look I was going for. :)
