This is very creative and cool bin trying to figure out how to build a airtight door for my custom star wars venator ship and this is my answer thank you
Hey dude, me and my friend have a crazy survival world going and would love a door like this, but I'm having difficulty adding a second piece to it. Would love if you could help out :)
Hiya - not sure sure if you’re still going on here. Been trying to find a system to close a door like this for the past few days, came across your vid. It’s looks great, and seems to work well - do you know a way to work around the rotors not moving the after you’ve attached them to the second set of rotors? I’ve followed along as you’ve built this, and done it exactly as you’ve done but for a much larger grid - only downside is that now it won’t let me activate the rotors to shift the middle piece, all airtight hangars are retracted and the merge blocks are off
I've been trying to do this with my station's medium ship building bay, but everytime i try to use the merge block system the door turns into a solid grid and cannot move,,,
@@GimmilFactory Im having a problem where he rotors arent positioning correctly. I have unsupported stations turned off, But I dont see an option for dynamic ship conversion
@@GimmilFactory I didn't change the torque settings but will try. When I turn on the dampers it moves really slow. I've tried moving the displacement on both of them but the lowest I can get it .01 m/s
That's why it says raw + no commentary in the title. This is only showing how to design and how to connect the various parts of the door together; there isn't even a button panel in the video. It is up to you in how to control it with one click.
My favorite thing about this setup is building it 10+ times just to have your hangar door go flying at mach 10
That’s 200 IQ I was searching for something like that to close my spaceship hangar.
Thaaanks! - I've yet to rebuild it with hinges

Yeah sure! Discord me GimmiLFactorY#4147
Nice project! Is merge blocks necessary for ait tightness?
Yes. It makes the subgrid with hangar blocks physical with parent allowing the seal in the first place.

How do I do the quick build thing where just clicks and drags
That is in creative mode and it is either ctrl+click and drag for straight lines and hold shift in addition for full surfaces.
Cant get it to work. The upper rotors never rotate the door upwards, its like the merge blocks are stuck even tho there off.
This is an issue with the game. It has to do with block counts and auto convert. There is a unsupported stations mod you can add to fix it.
@@GimmilFactory ah okay. Anyway of putting a link up or is it easy enough to find in the workshop?

Hello, I'm new to SE and was wondering if this could be programmed to a switch to open and close.
Yes sir. Its a pre programmed world that you can just load up. Trim down and then copy and quit from...then paste into your own world.
@@GimmilFactory Does this layout not work in space? I've been trying to make it work but it looks like its getting stuck

Do you have unsupported stations enabled? Disable if so. Also need dynamic ship conversion on.

@@GimmilFactory Can you point out where the "dynamic ship conversion" setting is? This isn't documented anywhere...
Where's the blueprint for this?

Is the only current version. (Custom world)
I always get bad shaking when I do stuff like this (multiple rotars and hinges)... anyone have any tips?
Are you keeping the torque levels low? They dont like being too high. Also the inertial dampeners setting on rotors helps with that.

nice door but too fking fast and atleast explain with letters or some shit ... fucking up in a building tutorial raw video is wild asf..
you dont even explain how to set up a botton panel to do this in one click. seriously no commentary.
