I have a theory that we will see this after or added in Spiderman 3, the idea is too good to be abandoned. Imagine there is a “campaign” and then a “multiplayer” side to Spiderman 3, more people will be willing to try the multiplayer and even buy a battle pass or micro transaction in a game that feels more complete, and less risk because its not a full title just something optional.

Detractors say that this game wouldn’t have been good anyway due to the recent failures of live service battle royales/ other online multiplayers based on superhero properties, ignoring the fact that this vertical slice shows that this would’ve been closer to GTA online , which single handedly made Rockstar around $8 million and is STILL active to this day.
