Detractors say that this game wouldn’t have been good anyway due to the recent failures of live service battle royales/ other online multiplayers based on superhero properties, ignoring the fact that this vertical slice shows that this would’ve been closer to GTA online , which single handedly made Rockstar around $8 million and is STILL active to this day. Not saying this was guaranteed to have the same success, but taking the concept of being America’s favorite Superhero a step further and saying it wouldn’t have made money kind of boggles my mind.

D@nm insomniac this looks like it would have been a good game. traveling through different dimensions, seeing that in the across the spider verse movie was cool but actually playing it on the game boy that would have been alot fun. i think the cancelation of this game was due to higher up studios like sony, disney etc, cuz as across the spiderverse is cannon to the mcu and shit and they had the madame webb shit and everything so if the game sets up a entirely new "The Great Web" shit would be confusing them so maybe they scrapped the idea.
