Electric trikes are a bit on the pricier side. Lots of factors, including larger and more engineered frames, the cost of shipping compared with the amount of trikes that can fit on a container, etc. Definitely a bit on the pricier side haha
I just sold my 2012 Fiat for 4k. With that money I will get a new bike with a couple 100 left over. I couldn't be happier. OK, maybe if I had a taco, then I'd be happier :)
No bike would be used and lose value and your battery doesn't last foreve add the fact that you can't really ride in the rain and snow you're not going to get as much mileage you better think a little morer@FentoZ
I love this trike. At 75 and having not driven in 10 years. I was a little hesitant on getting on the road again but, I need to provide my own transportation now to the market, the doctor, etc. This vehicle fits the bill no matter what this cost.
I know they're working on a canopy, and I've mentioned the full-suspension on their trikes after much testing on the Conductor 4|2. I think those would be excellent!
I'm legally blind and I rely on an electric bicycle to get around but I'm starting to have balance issues. Looks like I found my next mode of transportation! Thank you for this wonderful review
It can be used as a regular trike if no battery is there. It'll be heavy, but it's doable. If you get the second battery option, you'll be looking at 100-120 miles of range on a single charge.
Well the nice thing about this platform is you can put any seat you want on here. So, you can get one on Amazon for $35-$50 that you can just install on the existing seatpost. So don't let that stop you ;)
It's says about 22"/23" at its widest in the rear, but i think those are the internal dimensions of the rear seat. I would guess it's about 30"/31" total width in the rear.
Very good concept. The video did not reveal top spees, and whether is street legal and maximum allowed weight. I'd like to see hydraulic brakes and suspension.
Street legal depends on where you're at, so I'd check that with your local authority. Top speed is 28MPH. It does come with hydraulic brakes already, but suspension in the future versions would be really awesome! I will pass that along! I reached out to the owner to comment on top weight capacity, and will respond here when I hear back from him.
Just checked with the company and they said it has 115Nm of torque, and I can confirm that this thing has some get-up-and-go! That number checks out with me.
@@Ennovation thanks for the quick response. I have experience with 3 recumbent mid-drive builds. The 113nm torque with a 1000watt motor and 20” wheels sounds mighty fine indeed.
How is the clearance on those pedals hitting the cargo box? A consistent finding of those with big feet (I'm size 14) is that the heels will tick the foot rest of the passengers for most major trike manufacturers-reviews of both the SixThreeZero Rickshaw and BPM R750Z both mention issues with this.
Now I'm no size 14 shoe, but I didn't have any issues on any of the Oh Wow Trikes (The Conductor Plus, or the 4|2) I think they have a much longer wheelbase than most of the smaller trikes that are pretty popular right now, so it's hard for me to imagine somebody hitting their feet on the cargo box. Both the sixthreezero and BPM are quite a bit smaller and have different geometry, so I don't think that'd be an issue.
The nice things about trikes is they're very stable, so even if you're not touching the ground with both feet, it's stable and you can easily get on and off. 5'0" might be a little short for a "feet on the ground" experience, but I would be pretty confident that it would work.
How much ground clearance is there to lowest part of chain drive? Also, do you have an update on when they might come out with a 750W motor that makes this street legal without a motorcycle license?
Has a little less than 5" of clearance on the bottom. So, pretty decent clearance for a trike. And the motor is 6" of clearance. The new 750-watt version should be in mid-august. I think they're currently taking pre-orders on those. Sounds like it's pretty popular, so would definitely recommend hopping on those pre-orders if this is the trike you're looking for.
Hey there! For questions regarding shipping, it would be best to reach out to Oh Wow Cycles directly. Sales inquiries: sales@ohwowbikes.com Customer Service: support@ohwowbikes.com
Agreed! I think the welds on the future models are much improved. The unit we tested out was one of the first ones off the line, from their first batch, and so I expect the next version, which arrives in August, to be a bit more refined.
Great point! It's always best to check your local rules and regulations on any Ebike purchase! I do understand that they will be releasing a 750-watt nominal configuration in the near future as well!
That’s an excellent question! I don’t know if it currently comes with something like that, but I’ll let the company know people are looking for something like that. Thanks for watching!
The narrator could also mention that, as a convertible, with the seats, the pilot could carry kids or an adult, maybe two adults; with the cargo conversion, the trike could carry cargo, e.g., groceries, or one or even two large dogs. Video is rather uncritical, sort of a sales pitch. Might use an experienenced rider or a bike mechanic to take a more critical, objective view.
That's fair. This was more of a video we did about the trike while at Electrify Expo, so we didn't get a chance to do a more in-depth, long-form review like we're used to. I appreciate you watching :)
I hear ya. But in most places with this there’s no insurance, no license, no registration, no gas, etc. They would also have different use cases, I would imagine. But I hear ya! It’s definitely a decent chunk of coin.
Better to get a bike with more power & convert it with a tow along then give these dudes all your money & only have 50A battery capacity & a single hub motor to show for it... you can literally save $$$ & get twice the battery capacity & dual motors & still have almost 2 grand left over for the mods by passing on the $4 200 & only getting 50A & a single hub motor- anyone can fashion the chain tensioner out of a spring loaded pulley wheel... so really this is a massive mistake to spend that kind of cash for this thing
Hey there! I appreciate your feedback! I think there are some good qualities here that you couldn't get from that setup you mentioned, but I'ma big fan of dual motors myself :P So I would love to see something like that.

Hey Jerome! I’ll let the Oh Wow Cycles guys know they should look into some color options. For this type of bike, what colors do you think would be popular with people who are looking for a trike with this use case?
Also around the back you could easily hide those weld marks how they skipped with easy basic trim even some automotive stick on trim that would cover that all the way around
Agree on those color option! This thing would look pretty slick in a nice blue or red! Also, good notes on the back welds. I’ll make sure and send that their way for R&D. I appreciate your feedback (and for watching the review!) ;)
So I talked with the owner the other day and he said they've added matte black and matte green as color option on the next batch. So, looks like they're listening to the people!
I sure do wish someone would donate one of those to a broke father who'd drive his adult nonverbal autistic son around in it. One can dream. If I had the cash to blow I'd definitely buy one of these for me and my guy. Total value is what I see here. No gas , no insurance perfect for those of us on fixed incomes.
@@Ennovation Right now I pull him around on my regular mountain bike with a modified toddler trailer that I put a plywood floor in to handle his 170lbs. No car means we need alternatives to get around. Sucks when Canadian winter arrives though.

How did I get here? Lol I'm now obsessed with electric bikes
I’ve been asking myself the same question for the last 6 years 😂😂😂
I live in Vancouver BC. How are they delivered? Do you have to put them together.? Is there a dealer in Canada ?
I don't think there's a dealer in VC, but they do deliver from what I'm told.
How wide is the trike?

Been waiting for this review! So cool!
It really is quite a unique trike! Way peppier than you'd think too, for having that size of a footprint.
I want this for tent camping and packing my camp food ice and drinks.
That sounds like a cool use for this Trike.
I am looking at the build quality and it is horrible
I would like to point out the welds are no good
Failed in the quality control department
Do you know if this trike is available in Australia? I really need one to drive my sister around
I'm not 100% sure, but I'll reach out to the company and see if they can!
I hear they do deliver it to Australia, but this version is 1,000 watts, so just want to double check your local regulations on Ebikes.

do they have payment plans, what about Black Friday
I believe they do. Worth a call into their hotline to find out what they can do for you!

Yes,..but keep in mind that their Black Friday deal basically consists of the same trike at the exact same price but only its in all black.
How Is the motor mounted?
It's a 2-wheel, rear mounted motor on an open differential axel. Similar to how the XP Trike is mounted.
