Matt's willingness to make whoever's bullshit they're dealing with the main character is awesome. Very admirable. No one should mind as long as you give every one small moments and commit just as hard when it's their turn

Honestly? Something about such an innocent item, which she got when Laudna was still with her, turning all that pent up rage into a beautiful symbol for change and life beyond death is equal parts comedic and heartwrenching

The *second* Laudna was threatened made me feel some feelings
Considering how close they are, it makes sense that Imogen would be like that when it comes to Laudna.

I love how he ended it there. He is putting on a show not for the audiance, but for his players. For his freinds. He makes these huge stories for them, making them the main character in turns, and letting them tell amazing epic stories with him as a guide. It is so amazing.

@@micahbeers8904 I really want next episode to open with just Matt and Robbie with Dorian hearing a 25 word message from Orym and then learning of an explosion at Bassuras where his friends were reported to be. Then black screen with ominous music and the normal cast transported to Ruidus.

The only problem is, as far as we know, there is no Exandrian equivalent of Wolverine. We've never had a character have that much HP regeneration, let alone a character that could kill someone like Jean Grey in one strike, the way Wolverine did in X-Men.
I don’t think this is going to be a TPK. I’d say a couple of members of Bell’s Hells will die and stay dead but a few will live at least. Chetney, Ashton and FCG will at least. Maybe Laudna as well but that’s doubtful.

Hot take, Imogen just teleported them all to Ruidus! Otohan's back story was she disappeared after the war, I think she was there and somehow got expelled. She's using Imogen to get back.

I actually started to expect this to be a TPK and then they all wake up at the beginning of this day or some moment earlier in the day.

Hmm, we can expect a lot of psionic themed characters in this campaign. There are a lot to chose from, some from official books, some from UA. There was a psionic rogue, warlock, fighter (Otohan), sorcerer (Imogen), monk (UA), cleric (UA), wizard (UA). There was a whole class discarded by the WotC, Mystic. I wouldn't be surprised if new Ashley and Liam's charakters were psions.

This was painful to watch because Matt kept hinting again and again and again that she had to let go but Laura wasn't getting it.
Reminds me of dream sequences where they don't really know what to do hehe but this happened over and over and she just couldn't get her head around the fact she had to give in to that power.
I think that's just good rp. I mean, as a player, clearly you get that Matt is giving the signal that it is what needs to happen. But, as a character, it's just an adversary trying to force you to do something probably bad because it advances her own agenda. I think it's a perfect call to chose to resist until the MG presents you an interesting story beat to let go. That way she respected her character while also respecting her desire for engaging with what the MG has prepared.
@@leofouassier8372 He ultimately took away her autonomy and just forced her to make a saving throw to move the game forward because she wouldn't make the right choice to continue the narrative. That failed save took away her choice and just made it happen because she wasn't picking up what he was putting down.
On my first watch I thought Laura was somehow missing his hints. On rewatch, she definitely knew but Imogen's fear of the unknown was stronger than her fear for her friends. Until this moment anyway.
@@TheDrexxus I can see why you would see it that way. I believe that in life, sometimes, things happen despite you and your own will even some things you do yourself. So I don't think it's necesseraly unrealistic. But some players wouldn't want the DM to have the power to impact their character that way. I think at this table they are ok, with it, I know my players would enjoy it too. But yes, I get what you mean, it would be alright to be against the DM forcing a decision for the player. In that instance I think it's done well because he insists that it's happening against her will (which is something that requires trust between and consent between the player and the gm) and even when she wants to let go she can't do it willingly she has to fail her roll. That emplifies the story abour ruidus born and something inside her she doesn't know and can't fully control.
stop automatically assuming players making a bad decision/decision you don't like is because of the player's incompetence. they are in character. please remember that.

Matt said Otohan dropped her second blade to grasp Imogen's witch bolt, and then she moved enough distance to break the bolt. She wouldn't have had her second blade to make that final stab at Laudna.
She still has another blade. Not just one.
