Meta has a lot of issues in the XR space, but they always have exceptional tracking tech, props to the engineers. The tracking of Quest 3 + Controllers is unknown to me, but I trust Meta - they wouldn't downgrade tracking very badly, and if it's not as good as previous Quests, it will get better with time and software updates.
I think they are already using the tracking tech on quest 2. Early on, if you were even somewhat close to an open window during daylight the headset would lose tracking as the IR led bulbs aren't bright enough to fight the sun. Many updates ago this stopped being an issue you can practically play in broad daylight because tracking is being done with the visual hand tracking on the controllers themselves just as much if not more from the led tracking ring lights. That's my guess and feeling on the topic at least.
its the same, only that the controller now uses a bit of hand tracking and the infrarred anre on the surface of the controller instead of a ring

My biggest hope is that we see a lot of Quest 2 users upgrade their PC’s in the years since they started, and transition over to PCVR
Q2 could have a long life yet once we see people start hacking
I got a quest 2 for christmas of 2020, and i loved how active the VR space from the release of the quest 2 until about 2022. I plan on getting a Quest 3 when it’s released and i’m hoping that the headset is for sure much better than the last, and i’m hoping it revives the community quite a bit because vr is 100% less fun without people to play all of the social/multiplayer games.
The quest 3 sounds really fun and WAY better than the quest 2, it’s not a brick anymore (tbh it’s more of a slab) it has a better chip, AND it has better tracking? I’m just wondering if the strap will still be able to be taken off like the quest 2. Other then that it sounds like a great headset!
New straps required almost certainly. But yes, I agree. I think millions of players who were might have been interested in VR but got headaches and nausea with the quest 2 will now have something they want to buy. I've shown so many of my flat-screen gaming buds VR and ONLY ONE has bought a headset. Theyd get absurdly giddy and excited drawing the guardian and then got sick after one round of golf or a zombie shooter. With mixed reality, it bridges the gap immediately.

Hell yeah, it was. You just needed a ton of space to play it. As soon as I moved and got a bigger space the game was Axed. That's my life right there in a nutshell. lol

That window on the butterscotch headset might have just been for debugging the headset's mechanisms, but I really hope they leave it in the mainline production. It just looks kinda awesome.
The funny thing about meta’s “new” shooter game is the fact that it’s literally existed for like over a year but no one played it. Then they renamed it and BAM! It’s new game now 💀
I dont know what this hasnt been pointed out but Nausea is a major issue thats held VR back from the masses and Q3 can fix that. I have SO MANY GAMKNG FRIENDS that were so eager to come check out VR with me, they were so excited drawing the guardian they could barely contain themselves. Then theyd jump into a game and realized they got headaches and nausea, the VR hangover would ruin their entire evening and theyd never want to play again. So many people want to, but cant jump straight into full vr and feel comfortable. Hugh quality pass-through mixed reality gaming will change that and literally millions of gamers who want to enjoy full body gaming will be able to and it will be cheap enough for them to jump in.
of course after i buy a quest 2 in the summer i hear about the quest 3 coming in fall just my luck

Honestly, even if a video of yours hasn't got much info, or script to it, I am still very happy seeing that you've uploaded. Your content to me is always satisfying to watch and I love it. Kinda annoying that I bought a "SECOND" quest 2, as my old one was acting weird and couldn't get any sort of help from meta, and now the quest 3 is best friends with October ;-;
oh man, i am sorry that happened to you, hopefully you can get it to do some PCVR or Steam or something, or maybe return it if possible, in any case, I hope things go well for you, cause that's quite the purchase just to find out that a probably better version is on it's way right after.
Sorry dude -- I'm not a fan of Meta's reveal schedule. Why announce a headset a month before release, effectively a huge Fuck you to everyone who bought a quest 2 in the past year. And God forbid someone bought a quest pro

I'm taking my time and waiting. Happy with my Quest 2, and still have a few questions in Quest 3. They say they have a way to expand the storage, and I am hoping it's via micro sd card and not a proprietary format. 128 just isn't enough storage, and honestly 256 won't cut it for a device with more detailed graphics once you accrue a game library, especially assuming your quest 2 stuff is backwards compatible.
I would like for Christmas if it’s out by then I need and upgrade from the quest 2. I might only use one for pcvr. A lot of games on pcvr on quest it’s very laggy and forced to run it with garbage visuals (maybe just my pc). The quest 3 will probably fix that.

I have heard some things about Update 29, basically saying that its good, but most of the features they added were already in Pavlov: Shack, its free Quest counterpart.

Had to sell my old quest, and I've been waiting to buy a quest 3. I need this now.
Laying prone in Pavlov is the best thing in this update. No more inception when you hit the ground.

I'm not sure about where you live but here in Pennsylvania the dirt roads and off-road trails every 45 miles make a Subaru STI fun but expensive, if your going be in the track get a cheep drifting car so your don't care when you inevitably slam it into a guardrail

Wish they would of made the fov bigger on the Quest 3 with at least 110 to 120 degrees, I heard the fov will be about the same as what is on the Quest 2, I hope that information is wrong and Meta improved the size of the fov on the Quest 3, since the headset hasn’t been revealed yet, I guess we’ll find out soon when the headset comes out in the Fall

I am having problems with my controllers. They lose tracking every 10 seconds. ( oculus quest 2)

I've owned a Meta Quest 2 for around 2 years now i believe, and to be honest, i'm quite sad that there isn't a lot going on, i've more or less stopped using my headset due to a lack of new games to be excited about, and a personal lack of money to buy the older and still good ones, I don't think anyone really knows what's going to happen with the Quest 2 once the Quest 3 launches, but i'm hoping that, like the Quest 1, we still get to use it long after it's successor has launched, but, we won't know until it happens, and until then, i'm just gonna keep loving the Quest 2, and hope that i'll be able to afford the Quest 3 relatively soon after it launches.

Pavlov update 29 sucks big donkey balls for Oculus PCVR users, the switch to Unreal Engine 5 + OpenXR as well as lack of optimization and DirectX12 made it quite literally unplayable especially for streamers who need to run the game in SteamVR for those third party VR chat overlays due to a wobbling viewpoint that makes you feel like you're in a virtual earthquake every time you play. This is not an isolated issue though since the wobble happens on every game that runs on Oculus software + SteamVR + powered by Unreal Engine 5 & OpenXR runtime so that means Pavlov, X8 and VAIL VR, but luckily as of now VAIL is the first to figure out and fix the wobble issue by doing tons of optimization and implementing DirectX 12 rendering API into their game while preparing for the Quest standalone launch.

Your content is awesome man but I think your voice is mixed with a little too much bass in the mix where voice overs are generally usually covering mid and higher, and so they're usually mastered that way. Just a suggestion!
