That’s a great buy. There is a lot of fans of those Leon’s and young guys - and girls who can’t get insurance on the FR so selling the bumpers and trims won’t be hard and will make the engine cheaper when you sell everything you don’t need off it and scrap the shell

I've had loads of SEATs over the years, great value compared to VW. I was like you, hated the MK2 Leon styling until I bought one, mine was the 2.0 TFSI so it was a Spanish MK5 Golf GTI but only cost £800. Yours is essentially a Spanish MK6 Golf GTD. They have the same MK5/6 issues unfortunately, they also rot really quickly. If you broke it you'd get way more than £1200, you got a bargain there :)

great video live a seat (well leon cuora r mk1 ) the mk2 fr discs be a great fit for the dtecaddy or Andy 0budget with them being 312x25mm front and 255x10mm rears. missed out on some mk3 ttrs 340mm brembo front and 310x22 rear

Don’t be too worried about breaking it mate, in my opinion that era of seat weren’t particularly blessed with good looks, personally I think the mk1 Leon looked a lot nicer 👍 looking forward to this build 👌
Will bolt straight no dramas also with the 6 speed. Did it to my old caddy but i put the 170 bmn engine in mine that had the siemens injection system. Wiring was a bit fiddly but went like stink
You probably already know mate but you can just put the touran bases into the caddy and the seats bolt straight in then. I’ve got Octavia vrs seats in mine which I drilled the original caddy bases at first then got the touran bases
I used to do a lot of tracking on them years ago.. they would always wreck their tyres on the inner edge and the worn rear you have is almost certainly off the front.. I remember fitting a lot of pzero nero and that thing would eat them for lunch and come back for another set in 12 months.. Its gotta be the power, i think it overwhelms the geometry.. they would always track up on the Hunter, so its not a tracking issue while stationary...
good engines , same engine in my a3 2011 and stilll good on fuel after i mapped it 👌 mines roughly 210/215 but these are definatly the last of the good engines
the bmn 170 in the older octavia vrs was one of the best they ever made had one at 250bhp had the newer cega cr 170 for the last 4 years was around 230bhp never a single engine problem and over 60k miles put up on it egr dpf delete and make sure to do the swirl flaps went like shit off a stick wud spin the wheels in 5th gear the 320mm fromt discs are a nice upgrade for a caddy

To be fair i regret not gettin it ..look a nice car .. but this one had DPF issues and air bag light on ...and then got spun a bit of shit off seller so put me off

Doesn’t this cr170 also have issues when mapped where it just obliterates the turbo? Also injector issues? Remap takes it to 210bhp if I’m correct
