They are such unrecognized badasses with a beautiful talent. Still like them after a damn decade here. They make beautiful rock sometimes with a blues touch. Oh, especially when it comes to "Blackout" because their music video is a hilarious play on that.
Unsolved mysteries that haunt me: Where is Jimmy Hoffa buried? Is light a wave or a particle? Why is The Pack AD not WAY more well known? Seriously, they are the best blues rock band I've ever heard, bar none. And how do they get such a rich sound out of a two piece? Sometimes I wonder what they'd sound like with a bass player, but Becky's tone is so warm and big that they actually don't need one. Doing vocals and guitar simultaneously is way harder than it looks. Extremely successful bands have people doing that task way less effectively than Becky. She's terrific and criminally underrated! Sometimes I wonder what Maya would sound like with double bass, but she does amazingly well with just the one. She's one of my favorite drummers ever. I'd put her in the same league as John Bonham and that's not exaggerating. I hope someday the world wakes up and notices how amazing this band is.
There was anything but silence at my house when we had you guys up on the big screen Lights turn low music turned up high was like our own private concert Loved every minute of it.
Stumbled on The Pack years back and wrote to them that if they come to europe there would be money to be made - i live in denmark and dont think they have been playing here but are just glad they are together still
I'm delighted to find this; I'd only just become aware of these ladies by accident (cat stepped on remote when I was watching TCM; recognised whatever was behind them as something local to us, then heard the music as I was about to change back... obviously, it was f*cking good) as we were preparing to leave Vancouver in 2014. Maybe 2017-ish, my partner says ''guess who's playing here?!'' So, we got to see them, finally, in a grotty little pub cellar in... I want to say Stoke Newington?... London. It was a small yet fabulous show, but no merch (I think we managed to snag the latest vinyl) so I'm going to see if I can find some now. Unfortunately, my brain doesn't seem to work much of the time since getting Covid the first time, and I was just having a clear-out of all the shit UA-cam channels I'd subbed and forgotten about over the years. Found two amazing bands from Vancouver I'd not heard in so, so, SO long. (If you're into Lovecraft/Cthulhu and hilariously quirky post-punk that is also hooky AF with great vocals, I'd recommend The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, another bafflingly underrated band). Made me slightly homesick for the first time since living in the UK, listening to these two channels. Thanks, ladies. You're looking good, and still f*cking awesome. And I love that you did this, without a live audience; must have been a bit weird, rehearsal spaces aren't generally that big. xo! EDIT: You've not lived until you've been witness to claymation baby shit. 😆
you guys are so fuckin sick. i cant believe after like 6 years in the van city punk circuit ive missed every show. keep on killin itt becky and maya, you absolutely slay! \m/
I was stuck in Vic and likly would have to pay a scalper to much anyways to attend hating the current bullshit method of monopolized, controlled ticket sales. However this is most excellent and a blast. Love the Rickshaw and have seen dozens of amazing shows there over the last 3 decades but feels like its a better chance at winning at Lotto 649 or a jackpot at the government casino even a donut at Tim Hortons than securing a way to see any really good band in Van or most cities across the country. While I enjoy seeing the real auper awesome gooders thrive and succeed.Yet I miss when you can hit up a local tavern or dive bar to catch and truly engage while embracing the essence of the moment. While paying at the door and supporting the band directly at the merch table. I`m always going to be a die hard, hard core keepin it real Mofo for that and loudly Boo in protest to the Fuckery otherwise.
