- Richard Stephen Shaw (December 8, 1966 - June 9, 2019) was a Jamaican-American rapper better known by his stage name Bushwick Bill. He was best known as a member of the pioneering Texas hip hop group Geto Boys, a group he originally joined as a dancer in 1986 as Little Billy. He went on to become one third of the best-known incarnation of the group, alongside Willie D and Scarface.
On May 1, 2019, Shaw revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. On June 9, 2019, reports emerged that Shaw had died, but news of his death was later refuted by his son. However, it was subsequently reported and confirmed that Shaw died later that day.
"Mind Playing Tricks on Me" is a single by the Geto Boys, featured on their 1991 album We Can't Be Stopped. The lyrics used within describe various mental states such as posttraumatic stress disorder. The sample used in the song is "Hung Up On My Baby" by Isaac Hayes from his 1974 film Tough Guys. It was the only number-one single (chart: Hot Rap Singles) ever released by the Geto Boys. It reached #23 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest charting single by the Geto Boys. It was also certified Gold by the RIAA.It has been regarded as one of the best hip hop songs of all time. - wikipedia

i liked this even with the clean lyrics they managed to still sound great live without having to just censor the words, they came up with clean fills for the lines im impressed!

I'm discovering how intelligent Bill was just now. Their music was so hardcore, lewd, psychotic and great! I never really considered how intelligent they were. Now on UA-cam going down a Bushwick Bill rabbit hole, I was thinking-man, this is one intelligent dude. Outside of the rap horror world they created in their music, they all lived pretty normal lives. That is-with the exception of Bushwick having his eye shot out!
I loved Bushwick as an actor, too. I will never forget his appearance on Martin. Hilarious. RIP player. He overcame so many obstacles. You will be remembered forever and missed forever.

Yo those were the best of times for music in general, we had so much fun in school, at clubs, parties, damn near everywhere!! I was a DJ in the 80's only but continued buying and spinning vinyl throughout the 90's.....When these times and moments were happening, we were so consumed by the creativity of music, dancing, etc., and girls/women always.....no one was really thinking about it would end one day....anyway it's hard to think these days are over.
