The beams can be set at the mid-block on roof tiles and you can put wall wedges in them, allowing you to extend a wall down. This is good for breaking up large, long rooms and making them seem like multiple rooms with large doorways/passages, especially if you want to divide off crafting areas, storage, or just decorated areas like taverns. I used the trick to create divisions for "mini-rooms" for multiple onsen placements that are 2.5 blocks wide each, though I could have made them 3 blocks each with half blocks on either side making up the 3rd block and just hid a half block of empty space with false walls. There are some limits due to stability, as the beams don't really supply much, but I'm sure there are ways around it with properly applied pillars.
Thanks so much for the great tips. I already loved what was added with the recent Yamatai Towers bundle, but your tips will make it even more functional.
One of the most important details of an Edo period Yamati castle is a substantial thick walled basement foundation system. In real life, the exterior foundation wall was sloped. Sadly, no 60 degree sloped foundation or stone wall pieces were included. They would work just like Settite Pyramid building set as sold through the bazzar last year.
I've found the arches to be an excellent upgrade over the stable for getting a wall into places they won't snap. Have been building a complicated nightmare Egyptian temple thing and the yamatai archway has let me retcon walls into places I thought I'd have to rebuild entire sections to get something to work
I do plan to at some point, I'm taking a short break from the Yamatai extension at the moment though, I've most definitely overused it recently and everything's gonna end up looking the same pretty soon if I carry on 😂
i cannot wait to if they making the khitan roof set or a another set to khitan but yea the new yamatai set really help alot to building i think the greatest set they ever made. the gate pillers fuuuuu they are wird to build with but thx for the tip :D
I think a Khitan extension is almost a certainty at this point, given how well received this bundle is. Hopefully sooner rather than later, Khitan really needs it
I did wonder how it would be on its own. On the upside, Conan DLC is on sale for cheap pretty consistently, and you don't have to wait for any rotations, aside from the next sale ofc
@Eradicati0nn Yeah, I had something almost built and just used Aesir parts with it like the small staircase that goes left or right. The cap is the hardest part to use by itself without the dlc. I'm still waiting for the whole game to go on sale for cheap. It was at one time 90% off, less than 2 years ago on Xbox. It's a shame I missed out and didn't have money that week for games. Otherwise, I'll be buying it in pieces, and I still don't own the base game or Isle of Siptah. It's basically my favourite game. I have Gamepass, so I'm just doing that on a couple of decent servers. I got the last 2 Battle Passes, too. I hate Ark. Conan Exiles is never on any lists that people make as open world games like Ark to play etc... It's like the Media is actively against CE. I'm hoping Funcom's Dune game makes people curious to try it because it should be way more popular than it is.
I did just the same, but I looked at the price of the Yamatai and expansion again. I think I paid more for the Yamatai Towers bundle than I did for Yamatai. Maybe… I’m not totally sure about the math, but since I watched the other video about the Towers build, I figured it couldn’t hurt to get the expansion. Plus, the normal Yamatai pieces look nice for medieval style builds when combined with Arena. So yeah, I bit the bullet and these Yamatai builds look dope now.
@@RTGrimmer I think they're roughly the same price? I know Yamatai Towers is $10 USD and I think the original Yamatai DLC is roughly around the same price point

Yeah I plan on building a yamatai tavern with the sliding doors like it's going to be dope
Hi, nice tips, could you build an Yamatai palace with the new pieces? that would be nice :)

@@Eradicati0nn wanna build a kihtan empire if its come out
@@Eradicati0nn its need maybe 2 set to be on the same side as the yamatai and the others
I bought it, but it's lacking a little since I don't have the Yamatai DLC. It looked like enough of a standalone thing but it's not really.

I also got it on its own, and now am planning on buying the dlc because it'll elevate my tower builds so much more!
