I built a multi-story "Great Library" using the pyramid set, then I put a restaurant on the roof, with a tavern bar on each end. In addition to populating the myriad tables and chairs on the roof, I was pleasantly surprised to find it populated many of the desks and study areas on the floors below. Don't just think horizontal with your bars...think vertically, too.
Hiding the bar under the floor is a great idea. Now temples, circuses and coliseums can finally count on an audience. Thanks for the material and idea.
I can't wait for them to expand on this. Done right, this can be a beautiful mechanic and as a RP'er and builder I'm so excited at the ability to probably make more vibrant cities.
I'm glad you showed off the hidden bar method as well. I did think when I made that comment that this could be a bit finicky when not using it specifically as a tavern. I hope a mod maker, or better yet the developers, can figure out a way to make the tavern more compact to increase its versatility.
Thanks for the initial suggestion! It wouldn't surprise me if a mod makes it more compact, there's quite a few that have shrunk even the big stations down to a single placeable. I would like to see a base game mini bar at some point tho
Lots of options tbh. You can build an indoor garden with seating. The range of the tavern bar is quite substantial i must say. Not only that, i had a rooftop bar setup with fur rugs and dancers, etc. The bar itself was 1 floor down. If you have a small town build, the Inn, blacksmith, shopkeeper, etc can have the tavern bar as a framework. Basically having npc's walking in the town, making their way to each respective "shops". Id even created a brothel. 😂
I built my current base in Conan almost similar to the Riften Ratways from Skyrim. Utilized the Arched Arena Ceilings to recreate a sewer-like look for the bottom floor, with no actual doorway outside from there. Then on top of that, I built a huge Tavern complete with a dancer stage and everything. If you go behind the bar counter, you'll find a door to the Cellar. Tucked behind some barrels in a corner is a small staircase that leads into the rat tunnels where all of my crafting benches and chests are squirreled away. The Clan Treasury is also down there too, but currently it's looking just about as bare is the Riften Thieve's Guild's treasury is too, save for some gold piles and Gilded Harps as most of my time has been spent building my tavern-home. The admins of the server enjoy roleplaying and have actually showed up at my base to purchase high quality food and alcohol items from me. One time they dragged me an Unconscious Cimmerian Berserker and requested I make them 4 stacks of Salted Pork as a trade, had it already in a freezer because Salted Pork and Lasting Meals are what I usually eat anyway 😂
There's a new mod called "Solaris Tavern Anywhere". It has a craftable vendor spot that has no furniture. Good way for this video's aim of making custom counter & chair design without involving thralls.
I built a battle arena on my server and put 4 bars under it to populate the stands. I've heard that many people use this method. Also I've noticed in my bars it is more crowded at night.
You can separate two bar zones with mismatches stairs so that npcs don't see it as passible but players can pass fine. Mix in some fences and you can increase the density. Though it does get a bit odd seeing 3 or 4 folks teleport in at a time and path around each other to places.
I built a small 'town' with lots of outdoor seating, and then buried a tavern bar in an inaccessible basement right in the middle. After filling the barstools with thralls*, the wandering npcs started sitting on patio chair, balcony benches, and dining room tables. Granted there's only about a seven or eight foundation 'width' that the npcs will fill up from the bar, but the verticality seems to be irrelevant (my wife put chairs 20 floors above a tavern and had people sitting there). Later, I tried the same thing (only putting the bar inside the ceiling area where it couldn't be seen) and using the yamatai cushions (the fixed ones) as places for worshippers to kneel in the grand temple. *You can not fill the barstools, but if you don't, the first few NPCs will get to the wall closest to the bar and stare at it for about 2 minutes before finally just giving up and teleporting to the barstool that they cannot walk to. Putting thralls in the barstools prevents this silly behavior.
Very creative and fun! I love this kind of thing. Thanks for this video. I've noticed that on PS4/5 NPC's will very often sit in the wrong position on a chair. This feels like a very basic thing and I was surprised to see it as a problem so often.
I made a three story Murayama (Northern Timber mod) and Yamatai themed bar with two counters, one of the first floor and one of the third floor with roughly 20-25 seats takes a bit to get filled but looks nice. 😅
If you can't talk to them, they're likely "passive" visitors, basically set dressing. Not every visitor to your tavern will end up being someone you can talk to and recruit
@ I had a skellos bearer 3 I couldn't speak to 😭 But after her skel ber 1 showed up. All the Skellos bearers health bars are broken rn. So I atleast got her...
YEAH but I wish these guys would not wear weapons and only normal clothing. I do not want to see weapons in my churches, theater, barber bathhouse and certainly not in the brothel! XD *waiting for a mod

I put one in my viking treehouse between a market and the great hall and it populates both, makes everything much more lively!

I do actually have a library idea in mind, I might have to borrow this!
Hiding the bar under the floor is a great idea. Now temples, circuses and coliseums can finally count on an audience. Thanks for the material and idea.
I do wish I'd tested how many patrons 3 or 4 bars attract, could likely quite easily fill up a reasonably sized arena. Glad you enjoyed!
I can't wait for them to expand on this. Done right, this can be a beautiful mechanic and as a RP'er and builder I'm so excited at the ability to probably make more vibrant cities.
Me too, I think it'll be a slow march but a little bit every update should be a nice steady flow of improvements

Yay for the Neebs Crew! They barely know how to play the game, but they're out here inspiring others.

I didn't think of spreading it across multiple buildings that would probably work quite well with the right layout

I LOVE this idea, gonna use it at some point 100% sure.
i've put my bar under the floor and put chairs on the floor to make a long banquet,it worked pretty well
I used this technique for a coliseum arena and its wonderful
This is great for so many ideas I gotta get real creative with this!
Hide more bar counters in unused rooms and you will get slot more thralls . there a base I saw with 8 bars and its absolutely loaded with npcs
Oh ive built a cathedral. Bars are going in the catacombes 😂
this is a neat idea, and yeah i kinda thought "tavern system is for a tavern" as well.
I'm glad I'm not the only one 😂 Glad you enjoyed the video! Always appreciate your comments Pyro
How do you get the talk option on the ppl you can't talk to?
If you can't talk to them, they're likely "passive" visitors, basically set dressing. Not every visitor to your tavern will end up being someone you can talk to and recruit

Church? Awesome for temple.

Is one of its hidden uses making everything fall through the floor? Because thats what its doing.
I used it to populate a camp I built and a village
I like when u speak i feel good ❤❤❤
Will you be doing a theater EBA now?
Potentially, now that I know this trick will work. I could probably make a reasonably small theatre to fit the EBA style
i made the colosseum with bars both inside and outside..
it wasnt filled but there were npcs everywhere..
problem was they spawned inside the arena during the fights..🤣
Cool ideas!
Thanks Aetherial!
I hid the tavern under ground and it made them attend my cathedral
can you really get more than one tavern keeper? how many purges did you go throug to get 2?
You can get more than one, though god knows how many it would take. Drop rate seems incredibly rare for me so I spawned them in
@@Eradicati0nn aha what are they listed as if you can spawn them? would be nice to get one before i get the wealth to purge :D
@@seltin1988 I think they're labelled as "Barkeeper", I usually just type "bark" and they're there, it's a pretty small list of NPCs when you search for it
@@Eradicati0nn in the admin meny? or in the consol? i dont have much experiance with moding :)
@@seltin1988 In the admin panel, just type it into the textbox in the centre when you have the admin panel open to search through all the NPCs in game
Good fun
Funny concept
Thanks Deez, glad you enjoyed!
I used it to fill a colosseum
The title is a bit confrontational and click-baitty...it should be "Cool new uses for the Conan Tavern System" or somesuch. Otherwise, great video!
That’s how I populated Barden’s Tavern/Theater build. I have 4 bar keepers in the building.
