Im using an macbook pro 15 from 2018 and the battery still can't hold up with the M1 results but on the other hand the screen is bigger and its less expensive and it also has native Windows support.

the architecture is different. intel uses x86 which has more uses but for normal users the extra abilities of the chip is not in use. but it still runs and drains power, increases die size and produces more heat which isn't necessary. so apple uses arm which got rid of all the extra unnecessary features of x86 since the normal user doesn't need them which in turn only leaves needed calculations to use less power

@@begriprespect3316 most users wont need it and if they do apple has software called rosetta to translate it and it wont get hot or drain alot of power like intel. apple also uses wider channels which allows them to run at a lower clock speed to reduce power consumption whereas intel has thinner channels but a higher clock speed which uses more power and generates more heat

They said 20 hours of video playback, but it is not specified in what circumstances, what brightness, the volume of the sound, that it is offline or streaming video. So it is possible to reach such a number, but I tested it with several tasks that involves the CPU and GPU much more than video playback...(I’ve used it at 75% Brightness)
