Hi, I'm from India, if I want a NIKE SHOE (or other if u suggest) for track use only 100m-200m maybe 400m but focusing mostly on speed which shoe will you suggest I buy. I have researched and I found out that AIRZOOM TEMPO is for speed runs, AIRZOOM alphafly is for Marathon running and NIKE VIPERFLY FOR 100M focusing on speed. So as for my knowledge. I am in the mindset that viperfly is what I should buy as I mentioned only for track use. Money and Region is not a problem for me, availability of the shoe in INDIA shouldn't be a problem. I JUST WANNA KNOW WHICH IS BEST.
Man, you are amazing. I am loving this channel so far. I have been training as a sprinter and basically teaching myself. Your channel is my favorite so far. I love the quality of your videos and the information is backed up by science. I am keeping track of all the articles you mention. Also, the way you included Usain was so hilarious. 😂
Your vids have been both inspiring and essential in learning to sprint without any guidance. I didn't really plan on sprinting and just kind of jumped into it after seeing a few videos on the benefits. Been at it for maybe 3-4 months now and I love it! I started using the same shoes I was previously running a few miles on [ASICS GT-2000 9's] and later started to question are these what I should be using? I'm not really looking to buy spikes [unless they are necessary] but I'm wondering if you have any recommendations on types or brands of shoes for sprinting
Glutes are still the most underrated muscle in sprinting even on this channel! This guy knows so much more than me about sprinting its not even funny! But the one thing i will say is that sprinting is about applying horizontal force not vertical force! Theres a reason that vertical jump heights only weakly correlate with sprint times.
I'm new to this...I don't know where to start cuz its a lil overwhelming with all the offers .... Im told I need to start lifting my knees...im 42 & play in a flag football league... im told im quick but that I need to lift my knees What program should I start with? Thanks Steven B
Idk if you can comment on hyper-mobility? I’m hopeful so, as yours is the only content to ever even make mention of tendon elasticity in running. Coming from ballet to sprinting.. I’ve got 10° hyper-extension in my knees and strong length in my Achilles. Growing up barefoot & jumping I’d imagine my RSI to be pretty fair.. so I’ve got strong, mobile feet but definitely soft ankles with over pronation in my stride?
Hi I currently sprint 2 days a week. And train in the gym 2 days a week. And do a marial arts once per week. My times are coming down for 100 meter. Would you reccomend training 3 days instead?
What do you do to fix foot strike on the first three steps out the blocks? I heard you say something about tape but what's the measurements of the tape for each foot strike
@The Sprint Project not striking back into the track. I'm cycling my legs. Also my posture is good for the first step but I come up so quickly afterwards to the point where I'm upright at 20m
@@treyvon2784 I have the same issue sometimes. I think fixing your focal point makes a big difference. Keep your head down in a natural position (watch the track below/underneath you) and your body will follow. Allow your spine to come up by itself don’t force it.

Thank you the sprint project also I have found my ankle and knee problem from this video I have one question for you I have started my sprint training last month and speed 15:18 seconds in 100m how many months my speed increase 12:00 seconds in 100m
That depends on many factors like your current technique, strength and fitness level. If there’s lots of room for improvement in these areas, (meaning you’re a beginner), you can lower your times within a few months.
I have spent my entire life training for one purpose: to achieve perfect sprinting form. I have devoted countless hours to running, studying the biomechanics of the human body, and pushing myself to the brink of exhaustion in pursuit of this goal. And yet, despite all of my efforts, I have never been able to attain the flawless form that I so desperately seek. At times, I wonder if I am simply not meant to achieve this level of perfection. Perhaps there is some fundamental flaw in my physiology that prevents me from ever reaching my full potential. Or maybe my training methods are misguided, and I am simply repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
Sprinting fast is NOT so much about vertical/ankle stiffness as you may think. Ankle stifness play a role but not the crucial one. There are many athletes with crazy high boune. They all have very high relative strength numbers and high RSI over 4 sometimes even 4.5. But they still can't sprint as fast. Don't get me wrong. I'm talking about guys running 10.8-11.0s wich is fast but compared to their elite stifness/RSI it's poor. The main difference for elite sprinting speed is not vertical stifness. It's the ability to properly cycle your limbs as powerfull as possible.
@@flightreacts4603 i guess we both know that decease in contact time is the result of increase in running speed. You and many others think it's contact stiffness (the ability to quickly rebound from the ground) wich is the important factor. I have to answer you can be as stiff as a steel ball but without the necessary horizontal impulse you won't generate enough horizontal acceleration. Most coaches think that leg collapsing during ground contact (wich is not good) is a sign of a lack in stiffness. I have to answer maybe to some degree but if you switch the limbs fast and effectively you will achieve proper angles and there is no need for high stiffness. VERY important: in sptrinting there is only a 4-5cm (1.5-2") vertical oscillation of the COM. The best sprinters have the LEAST vertical oscillation in relation to stride length! This clearly proves we don't want huge vertical oscillation but just enough. We surely want to move horizontal!

Please make a video teaching acceleration technique and the first three steps during the 2 point start.
Is ankle stiffness related to a better acceleration phase, in addition to the max-vel. phase?
