    Direct. Clear. Concise. This is how reviews should be.

    For the right side, make yourself a DIY trek pak style divider. Maybe even something a bit more heavy duty than a trek pack.

    This is EXACTLY what I was looking for to house my FX6. Cheap and seems easy. Great concise video.

      @@paulhuenefeld I was more looking at Doctor style bags like the Shape or Satchler products. I have a really nice Nanuck hard case for my FX6 but have to build it out everytime.

      @@spencerstanley8696 oh yeah the primary reason for me to use a large case was so that I didn't have to build out the camera every time haha! It's been such a luxury to arrive at set and just pull the camera out ready to go!

    i did this same exact thing, except i bought a husky brand rolling case. i also bought a husky kneeling pad for protection and to keep the 2 cameras separated. it holds 2 totally rigged up a7s iii cameras including external monitors, handles (both side and top), and cables. additionally, i bought a husky small parts organizer to hold batteries, spare cables, and other things. it attaches directly onto the top of the case. i spent less than $100.

      Yes love it! Great idea with the kneeling pad! I’ve also thought about picking up a smaller case in the same line for all the random bits and pieces 👍🏻

    I have used festool systainers for all my gear for over 10 years, the way they lock together is brilliant and saves so much time, the IP rating is not really an issue for the kind of work I do

    • @paulhuenefeld
      @paulhuenefeld  Рік тому

      I haven’t used their systainers before! Festool tools are amazing so I can only assume the same for their cases 👍🏻

    Look at pre cubed foam inserts, built a case for my hunting rifle a while back and now im rebuilding the TrekPak in my pelican for my fx3, fx30 and a dji rs3 pro with those inserts so it's a custom snug fit. It it can keep the zero true on my rifle, it will protect my camera gear. Also subbed because the review was quick and awesome, thank you. Definitely going to be checking these out for my lighting case that I want to build out.

      @paulhuenefeld  Рік тому +1

      Yeah thanks so much! I kind of thought I wouldn’t go that route just because of how much of the foam I would have to pluck out, but maybe I could do it in multiple sections 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I wonder if you could use a camera cube with compartments for that empty space.

    It's crazy how high the prices are for "video production products and tools", and then how low their "non video production" cousins are!!
    For example ...I paid $89 for a 42 inch gun case that holds my entire live stream setup (atem extreme, 3 hollyland lark dual systems, zoom podtrak p4, 3 canon t7i's with grips, 4 shotgun mics, and cables for everything. A pelican that size would have been MANY hundreds more!

    Second time I see that Dewalt case being mentioned now to hold a fully rigged camera such as the fx6. This is making me think about those DIY TrekPack videos I see and if something can be done specifically/custom for this dewalt case. Love the savings and love the exploration of outside the traditional pelican solution for this.

      Work and life have actually been so busy that I haven't been able to make any changes to the case. So, it has been working out perfectly how I initially set it up with the cheap foam. I am still loving it especially with the ability to keep the camera rigged out and it still fits in the case. The small convenience of just taking the camera out, turning it on, and being ready to shoot is invaluable to say the least!
