- First off let me start off by apologizing for the wind noise every now and then in the exterior portions, it was my only chance to get the 1st gen CTS so I had to take it haha. In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2003 Cadillac CTS. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
Car is worth like 3k now maybe 5k depending in condition oh how time flies

My aunt had a car just like this her husband bought her it brand new, unfortunately two years later it was totaled, thankfully her daughter who was driving it walked away without a scratch! There nice safe cars,
I’m a Ford guy, but man oh man do I ever love this car. This is the same car that Richard Hammond reviewed. The Cadillac CTS was the first American luxury car to take on the BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz cars and it also blows any Japanese luxury car out of the water. If you want a cheap used luxury car that won’t cost you an arm and a leg for maintenance like a BMW, Audi or Mercedes-Benz, then the Cadillac CTS is the car for you.

My late grandpa had this car, in beige. At 140k miles, it was beat up and had some engine trouble, but it was overall a smooth and comfortable ride.

This car starred in The Matrix Reloaded
The matrix reloaded is my all time favorite movie! Because of that movie, as a 7 year old I always wanted to own one. Today I do have a CTS.😁
Just got mine today, sport and luxury package with the premium Diamond white paint. 3.6 engine with bose and all the goodies. LOVE it.

Same! I actually just bought an 03 with 115k white diamond and wood trimmubgs, sun roof , tint ECT its a beauty! My Tahoe got totalled unfortunately where I live it won't be any good in the winter. So ill have it for summer I guess
Those new Sonatas are pretty freaking nice. Hyundais and Kias of late have been getting more and more appealing, and they're still really affordable for the most part!
One of the best looking cadillac designs in 2 decades. Man though there is an abundance of plastic in the interior of an "upscale" car...
Just got my 03 cts caddilac about 2weeks ago, love it so far,good looking car, butalready got a leaking valve that needsto be replaced. Cost 500-700. Expensive to fix this car so be ready. Apart from that I love it

Hey Kyle, nice video. I have one question. Does the interior on these have a lot of squeaks and rattles? My brother might be getting one of these soon, and it's in great shape, but I was wondering how quiet they are inside. I haven't gotten a chance to drive this one yet and I'd like to know. Thanks!
@avenger836 It's actually indicates a "sports mode" and not stabilitrack. The traction control can be turned off in the glovebox.

@Forgoten214 the CTS-V from this generation just used the corvette engine, not a northstar. but yes it did have a 6 speed.
The CTS is a great car, i've had my 03 for a little over a year now, maintenance is not wow high for a luxury car, it has all the amenities anyone could have asked for, especially in 2003, the engine is strong for being just a v6. This CTS is as base as you can go, no options at all, get some options and the interior will look much much better. wiki the options available.
The button with the "S" and gear surrounding it is stabilitrack. It's for winter driving. I'm not sure how it functions differently than the traction control switch in the glovebox. Or it is sportshift which changes how the transmission selects gears during acceleration and deceleration and is fun to drive with it on if you have the 3.6

David Henriquez It's running fine! I don't beat it i baby it. And Mine makes bluetooth calls because I have a aftermarket radio. I'm not sure about stock. Google it?

I never dreamed an American car designed in Germany assembled in Mexico with parts made in Canada could be so amazing!
The CTS was assembled at Lansing River Assembly in Michigan.
@90Mrknowitall This car isn't related to the Malibu in any way, only that they are both made by GM.
I also forgot to mention that she got the top of the line with the memory seating, wood trim, etc. The only thing it doesnt have is the nav. She was going to get a 2006 STS though but she likes the CTS better.
nowadays, casette players are awesome because you can plug your ipod in by the tape adapters you can get for $10

@90Mrknowitall Actually you weren't completely wrong I just looked it up and the Malibu was related to the Cadillac BLS, but they only sold the BLS in Europe.
Looking at either these, a Lincoln MKZ, or a Buick Lucerne for my next vehicle. How is the ride? I have a bad back, so I'm looking for something that's smooth and has well padded seats. Also wondering about reliability, because I have seen many reviews saying they are money pits, and many other that say they are good cars. Any CTS owners want to fill me in?
I would recommend the Buick Lucerne out of the top three. It's old school luxury, real luxury mind you, a rolling sofa which will Cottle and pamper you over every harsh bump of the American roads. Not to mention that it has actual interior space, a rear seat worthy of a king or a queen and an optional bench in the front on CX models. Fully loaded, the CXS songs with the top tier in North Star V8 for good power off the line.

Depends, watch out for the lower priced one's. They may have more issues. Generally these run more along the 7,000-8,000 range. What engine?
you can thank the build quality of this era of gm. it nearly caused the collapse in 08, but they learned somewhat, and are now building better cars

@vladimirmckenzie i must have stated this a million times but there are different trims of this car that has top end interior,even low end merc n bmw have plastic interior ,the 3.6 cts has nice interior

Nice looking car but why black interior? Leather is bad enough on a hot or cold day imagine black? Would prefer if it had a grey interior.
@Zinizzle Yeah the older CTS had a rather cheap interior but the newest generation has nice details and materials. The interior of my Dad's 01 Olds Aurora squeaks and rattles quite a lot.

I have the same car that is a 2005 but some of the features are the same and I have yet to figure out what the button by the gear shifter does. It is an s with a gear around it. I think it is like sport suspension or something like that but I don't know and if somebody could tell me that would be great.

My cats cadlace something draining the battery it only starts when we charge the battery shut it off and I will not start what is causing it

@Walterfreudt They're all wonderful. The Eldy, SeVille, and STS all have the Northstar, unless you get the V6 STS, with a 3.6L V6, from the 2004- CTS.

Any chances of a CTS-V from this generation? I believe they had a supercharged Northstar or something like that and a 6 speed. I know you have a newer generation CTS-V.

These cars need valve cover gaskets replaced after so many miles they tend to fail letting oil get into where your spark plugs are causing random shut off and misfires. also check plastic end of vacuum lines they get brittle and crack replace with rubber vacuum lines. if you smell burning oil time to replace those valve cover gaskets also do intake gasket while your there.

The luxury sport package edition has a nice wood finish.
Not to shabby. Not a fan of the 3.2, the rear seat pouches and the smaller tires but overall its a good car! But come on 3.2 why not 3.8 or 4.2?

@tachikoma747 It had the 2.8L V6. It wasn't just the 3.6L V6 that was finicky.
