- In this video, I take my guest, Nate, and my nephew to Sylvan Beach Pier to try our luck fishing. Nate has never fished in Texas before, so I wanted to put them on fish. We used live shrimp and cut croaker as bait. Overall was a fun morning at the pier.

Many years ago before the pier was destroyed and rebuilt you could walk out to the end and cast out to the left, theres a sunken barge that holds reds and specks

Gafftop are horrible slimers and I don't know of anyone that keep them.
I've recently retired and have my boat up for sale. 2000 22' Century 2201 w Yamaha 225 EFI Really great boat. ..too big for the garage and storage went to over 200/mth.
I'll have to give this pier a shot during the weekday mornings.

@@skatonio It's $4 for adults and $2 for kids. They open at 6 am and shut the pier down at dusk, I believe. They have night fishing too, but you will have to call Linda's Bait and Tackle to confirm.

Over 20 yrs ago I moved to the area and lived in Pirates Landing 3 yrs before buy a home in Seabrook.
I love the area.

It's a nice pier for sure to take the family. I went night fishing there a few months back and they were catching Bull Reds at the end one after another!

I think it was a Friday and we started right at sunrise. I was hoping for the speckle trout bite on the right side of the pier but it was a grind. Thanks for watching!

@@chiroangler that's a spinner shark. They resemble black tips but black tips don't have black on the anal fin and the spinner does.

Nice video havent fished in that pier in years since when i was little.how is the night fishing i remeber catching tons of sand trout at night there
It's hit or miss sometimes. I always try to use live or fresh bait and I target the pilings and structure. You right about the sand trout, a lot of them run there. A lot of big Gar come out at night.

You tend to forget what its like to be a hid catching a fish we now would prefer not to catch but feel excited about it. Long mat we keep that feeling!

I love that dock demon fishing rod, they don't make it anymore and impossible to find.

@@moblack5883 He is referencing the Zebco Dock Demon deluxe rod. I believe its a 36" length rod. The competitor is the Ugly Stick Dock Runner but it doesn't have the back bone like the Demon rod.
