Thanks for the top quality video!
Very good review!
A nice balanced, highly informative review of this amazing lens, well done. Just picked mine up yesterday for insect macro work, cant wait to get out in the field!
I pre-ordered it, and it is very good. I like super quality and it is. If you do macro now & then & you can afford it, it would be silly not to add it to your collection.
great review
Great len I am enjoy it well made
Have you found a compatible flashing wireless trigger that works with the Om-1 and 90 mm
Great video I have been considering the OM-1 and this lens but how would it compare to the Canon R7 with the RF 100 f2.8 Macro?
I have owned a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro, a Sigma 180mm f2.8 OS macro and Sony 90mm f2.8 macro, and I have to say that my new OMS 90mm f3.5 IS macro easily matches them optically and surpasses them in versatility. This is a Pro series lens and the Pro range is fantastic. I also own two OM1 bodies, one set up for birding and general wildlife, the other for macro. I would not have any other camera on the market - and I previously owned a Sony A9 and A7R4.
@@klackon1 HI that's great to hear, See I have the Canon R7 and I just bought the Canon R3 and I was deciding between the R3 or OM-1 but picked the R3 because of the Full frame, Truth be told that tiny sensor on the OM-1 kind of scares me for some reason, But I still have a week before I can exchange the R3 for another camera, Here in the States you have a 2 week period to take it back, So I'm kind of confused into what to do.
Why wouldn't you use the 2X Digital Teleconverter in the OM-1?
Just before this lens came out I bought the Nikon Z 105mm 2.8 macro for my Z camera. Now I'm wishing I hadn't. I currently use the 60mm macro on my OM1, a nice lens, but not as nice as this 90. I think OMD hit it out of the park with this lens. I know I will buy this lens eventually. It's calling my name.
Did you get the wrong image at the point you compared f8 versus focus stacked?
yeah, that's clearly the wrong image.
Yup 100% is XD
This cracked me UP when it popped up lol.
Maybe, …if they ever offer a rebate!
Will Chris come back after dpreview shutters?
They have gone to petapixel
Honestly, I'll still leaning towards the 60mm Macro. Mainly as its 1/4 of the price.
It's a marvellous lens, but I traded mine in for a 90mm f3.5 IS macro, and it's a stunning lens. Pin sharp and so versatile. At a native 2 x mag I'm seeing parts of flora and fauna I have not seen before. I am rubbish at moving the lens backward and forward in order to obtain focus, so 1:1 handheld with the 60mm f2.8 was almost impossible for me. I am having no trouble at 1:1 and 2:1 with the IS and AF of the 90mm. It's horses for courses though. If you are happy with the 60mm why change.
21 fps focus bracketing at 1:4 macro!! That means handheld focus stacks.
It would've been nice to see the in-camera stacking results.
This 90mm is very big and expensive. My 60mm is still the best ever lens to me.
Just bought mine for $200 off.
In camera stacking example is here. ua-cam.com/video/4NZ3GERMgeQ/v-deo.htmlsi=36-PYhgHGBDSNh33&t=535
I watched this all the way through for the focus breathing performance. Ho hum I'll have to watch somebody elses's.
useless lens
Kind of like your worthless comment twinkle toes...
