Nintendo and Sony took different approaches with their consoles during the sixth generation, making direct comparisons challenging. The GameCube had a line-up of unique, first-party titles that set it apart, while the PS2's vast library included nearly every genre imaginable, making it a powerhouse in the market. Both consoles had their strengths and weaknesses-Nintendo focused on delivering family-friendly entertainment with strong local multiplayer support, as seen in the GameCube's four controller ports, whereas Sony positioned the PS2 as a versatile entertainment hub, even including DVD playback, which was a significant selling point at the time. Price was also a key factor. The PS2 launched at $300, while the GameCube was more affordable at $200, which influenced consumer decisions, especially with budget-conscious families. Despite these differences, both consoles are now easily emulated, so the comparisons might seem less relevant today. However, it’s important to recognize that they served different purposes: the PS2 aimed to dominate the AAA game market, while the GameCube was more focused on delivering unique, innovative experiences for a broad audience. Ultimately, they catered to different segments of the gaming community, and each has left a lasting legacy in its own way

The one game series I really enjoy on Gamecube is actually Tiger Woods PGA Tour since I find the little yellow stick a lot more satisfying for swinging a golf club than either of the thumbsticks on the PS2 controller. I also enjoyed Tales of Symphonia on Gamecube but, overall, the PS2 has a much more vast library of JRPGs.

At the time Rockstar games were on only PS2 (For a while) & at the time that was a huge deal, every kid was playing every Rockstar game lol. Also Kingdom Hearts was only on PlayStation back then. While I love Super Mario Sunshine, & Double Dash, Nintendo fandom considers those games OK at best , or above average. Luigi’s Manison is loved & Smash Bro Melee. Nobody really talks about that specific Mario party. Sonic ADV Battle 2 died out later in the 2000’s, & had a small Resurgence during Xbox Arcade. Now TODAY the game is popular again for many reasons. Sonic ADV DX gets 💩’d on 😂. The GTA games & Kingdom Hearts NEVER went away. PlayStation for sure, plus the Jak games.

The GameCube is so much better.
My brother in Christ you're the actor that plays Aiden Pearce on watch dogs please answer
No cotest PS2, DVD fuction, PSOne games and PS2 games, what dose the Gameqube have Gameqube games and GBA games and you cant play the GBA movies over the Gameqube. But you can do all on PS2, PS2 games, PSOme, And DVD movies...nonquestion PS2 wins
PS2 all day it’s not even close.
GameCube was GOAT for having friends over and gaming all night. If you had friends, anyway.. lol
Tough call yo. If i really had to id pick GameCube
Although im nostalgic about that PS2 boot up screen so i dont know anymore lmfao
The PS1 boot sequence is the most nostalgic for me, personally. Just so damn iconic
@@TroysSweetCornhole That 4 player experience on that Cube was crazy. Especially with Super Smash Bros, mariokart, party, Zelda, ssx tricky, def jam vendetta, nfl streets, nba streets, twin snakes, animal crossing, pokemon, starfox.. i love the ps2 but the gamecube cause and broke friendships..
ps2 is best system
The dudley boyz man😂
i don't need to watch the video, PS2 wins!
If you look at the raw numbers, the GameCube is more powerful than the original Xbox in many aspects. I have both systems, but Im a Nintendo guy.
Not really

GameCube is better than PS2 because:
Better controller.
More powerful.
Has Mario games.
Less shovelware
Sonic games are better on GameCube than PS2.
Lets you play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games natively on a TV screen.
Like I said with the Sonic games, most third party multi-plats on GameCube are better than PS2.
4 built-in controller ports.
I’m not even going to watch your video because the original Xbox was the best system that gen.
the best PS2 console is a PS3 with HEN or CFW
Original XBOX
Gamecube, hands down, I was there. Im a 80s baby. no one wants to mentions the HD it had, wireless controller, and Eternal Darkness game
Emotionally my choice will always be ps2, but graphically, cube beats the sh* of the ps2. Maybe depending on the. Version of both consoles, but GC is f* beautiful in graphic terms, but that controller wtf, looks cool, but playing if that... Is seriously weird.
hands down gamecube wins
I have three ps2’s and I’d rather play my gamecube any day.
Im a Playstation guy but the Gamecube exclusive slightly edge out the Playstation ones this generation. My personal favorite games this generation were Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Remake and Skies of Arcadia Legends were on the GameCube. This not to say the PS2 did not have its share of fantastic games. God od War 2, Final Fantasy X, Dragon Quest 8, Shadow of the Colossus, Okami and Silwnt Hill 2 would have to be my favorites. But id have to give a very slight edge to the cube.
love the gamecube but the PS2 library is so massive and also has so much variety and much more mature games.
Nah it’s easy…. It’s a tie. It comes down to the games, they both had amazing games. The original Xbox goes with these also.
@@The80Kat Nah the Cube.. smash bros, marioparty/kart, sunshine, def jam vendetta, nfl streets. I love the ps2 though but I’ll give it to the cube but the wii is a better option rn
1. PS2 2. Xbox 3. GameCube
PS2 was peak Sony
This is no tough topic the Gamecube was a much better console. The problem was Gamecube got crap PS2 ports and Sony was monopolizing the game market paying companies not to bring games to the GameCube and XBOX.
You look stressed…😅
The Blu Ray player is way more versatile
Ps2 is the biggest selling console of all time with the switch creeping up so ye ps2 is better
1st 🎉
congrats yo
My brother not going to like you look lie Eminem but depressed
The PS2 Slim has a problem with the laser. It'll eventually scratch your discs.
Don't buy it.
