I have to completely disagree. This orchestral version is like a T ballet. If you want to cry, listen to what Lang Lang did with this - it is exquisite! ua-cam.com/video/PbHhqXSUzKQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=MaeL and also the ice skating performance music in the beginning of Goodbye Petrushka!
Oh my god, there is someone with same memories as me :D It scared me too, those frogs... uf :D I remeber them even I see this film when I was kid, like 15 years ago.
1989-90, Istanbul. Winter through spring, "L'Ours" became so popular that it remained in cinemas for more than 4 months. I've seen it 6 times. From Tchaikovsky's "Seasons" (op.37a), a set of 12 pieces for solo piano, the main theme of the film is no.6, the month of June, barcarolle in G minor. In hindsight, this bittersweet piece marks the end of my childhood. The producer of the film, Claude Berri, was a director as well. Recently, I've seen his delightful short film from 1963, "Le Poulet" ("The Chicken"), and the semi-autobiographical "Le Vieil Homme et l'Enfant" ("The Two of Us") from 1967. Others lined up.
i was 8-9 when i first saw it....this song grabbed me....i watch it often...Tuff!!!....When they get thru it all n go Hibernate....Damn, like...yeah....G.O.D. is good!
Magnificent movie and interpretation of Tchaikovsky's June from op37. To this day, Annaud's classic Quest for Fire was the only film I was so enthralled with at the time it came out, I sat through it twice in the theater. I also suggest viewing Jean de Florette and sequel Manon des Sources, with another magnificent score and monumentally wonderful story. The films Claude Berri had his hands in back then are gold.
If you freeze the video at 2:00 and read the DVD liner notes (Jan '88 section) -- it is suggested that the melody was inspired by old Eastern European folklore and that Tchaikovsky used it also to compose June. So not only is there no attribution to Tchaikovsky, it is suggested that it was not an original work by Tchaikovsky. Shameful, as there is no evidence (to my knowledge) that June is anything but an original work by Tchaikovsky. Pure, unadulterated plagiarism.
If the beauty of this music doesn't make you cry instantly, you don't have a soul!
TBH it *did* make me cry when I was a kid
But now I got used to it
The bear...spirit of the wild❤❤❤❤
Thanks Bart, Rip

this movie should be recommended to every kid in this world
It was always a little creepy to me as a kid. But very beautiful nevertheless

One of my favorite films as a child. This music always has a place in my heart.

I love this movie and adore the soundtrack. My favorite...
It is Tchaikovsky The Seasons June. Hauntingly beautiful
I love Tchaikovski and this beautyful movie ❤️❤️❤️
Activates a part of the psyche which has been sleeping for a long time, i can feel my head heat up as the neurons light up!

How I wish this orchestral arrangement was available on iTunes!
Fantastic movie! The theme was based on a composition by Peter Tchaikovsky. What an amazing composer!
Wonderfull...🤩

Used also in the 1936 movie Grand Hotel.
This film reminds me a lot of Dersu Uzala, somehow. Two great films.
wunderbar
Thank you for uploading this.
oh wow... really? I always thought that this music sounded very "Russian" but couldn't put my finger on it...
rest in peace , Youk :(

At the moment I'm reading this book (i forgot what original title was) while listening to this music😊
👍👍👍👍👍
Çok etkileyici
😢😢😢😢
Tchaikovsky The seasons - june
Dónde puedo ver la película?
Mercì Tchaikovsky, P.I.
I don't know much about Philippe Sarde. But one thing I know is that he's a Bach fan for sure! Hahahah
And so am I ;-)
Tramposo Sarde!! Robo total!!!!!
beautifull. Brahms or Tchaïkovski inspired
It's actually by Tchaikovsky. Arranged from op. 37a: June - The Seasons.
if Tchaikovsky was a bear...
