Keith, I've had 48 years of Hapkido learning. I agree with your statements, but I use internet videos to refresh/review what I've learned, as well ad broaden my knowledge of other instructional styles. I was taught by my Grandmaster to never stop learning. Well said, Keith! Be well
I Taught myself how to spin (or "twirl) from mark Shuey old Kata video ... It was a great start for me initially which prompted me to sought out a GM to train me in a more tactical art
Keith, I agree with you. I regularly watch cane presentations on the Internet. But I have learned and progressed by studying as an Internet Student of Gary Hernandez. His RDT System is what I practice several times per week. I have been at it about one year and am an Advanced Student, studying for Black Belt. After I get the Black Belt, I will probably take both his and Joe Rabaina's in person workshops. But right now I am trying to learn very systematically and thoroughly.
Thank You , EXCELLENT Info ! At age 80, still in good / fair condtion , I fly my Powered Para Glider , never had time for golf, tv football, etc - always searching for an adventure ! Many yrs ago, age 18, 19 or so I visited Japan in USN . Interested in the art of self defense - I studied judo , karate, moved into boxing- all great experiences.. I saw stick fighting in P.I = often thought through the yrs about a piece of broom handle---- Heck , a kid on the street could make a criminal dance ! NEVER thought about a cane , Duh . YOU have great idea and the PRODUCT ! I will be buying your cane and searching for an Instructor ! I am tired of the pepper spray, the stun gun , the tazer, and being a VN Vet , I do not like to carry my .357 .. I do travel once a yr to unique places =:learning , sharing teaching my " survival skills to save lives " - last yr , the headwaters of the Amazon with my Dr. friend. Next yr, back to visit my P.I. Negrito JEST Troopers mtn village . I want to learn your CANE SKILLS for defense, excerise and just plain knowledge! Sincerely, A " Bravo Zulu " . Love your videos. " Mtn Mel '" Deweese, Ret 59-82 USN SERE - POW Inst / Para- Rigger / VN Advisor --- now sitting in my tipi camp at 7 000 ft. W. Colorado, always learing & sharing . Please stop by and enjoy our campfire.
People learn in different ways. I have learned techniques just from watching Martial Arts movies. But other people tell me they need face to face instruction. I can learn from books, others find this difficult.

Review and refresh what you already know is an excellent idea. Reminders are always needed.
Thanks for your thoughts. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
The Hapkido guys are the most advanced cane guys. Even though their techniques are more physical than people who need a cane to walk can do.
Hit the nail on the head maybe they are the best but as you stated most don't " need" the cane to walk with ...

Do you guys have a network of schools you're associated with?
Hi there! Do you mean for training? If yes, we only offer online training. You can email us at info@canemasters.com if you need anything.
