    *Note* Although we appreciate your comments. We don't recommend such a drastically low calorie intake. This was a research challenge that we conducted that concluded in it being unrealistic and potentially dangerous over a long term. Please don't attempt this diet, we did it so you don't have to for educational purposes.

      I've been on a 1000 calorie diet for awhile. I feel fine. 18 hour fast. noon i have protein shake with kale, mixed berries, pb2, banana, and protein 350 calories. Dinner I have a 650 calories dinner, which is plenty. I lose less than a pound a day.

      @@robmorgan4637 I'm pretty much exactly the same!!
      I also have an 18 hour fast and only eat around 1000 calories a day.
      I want to lose 2lb a week, and according to the app that I use, 1200 calories a day is the right amount for that. But I never actually eat that much because I'm never hungry. 🤣
      I also workout and feel completely fine. I actually feel better than I did before I started dieting and exercising!

    I've been eating around 1000-1100 calories a day for a week now, and I went from 51.2 kg to 49.6 kg. I use an app called MyFitnessPal to track my calories, and also to estimate when I'll reach my goal weight if I consistently eat within the limits. So far, I've been sustaining it and it feels renewing for me honestly. I don't know if it's for everyone, because I have only been doing this for a week. My hunger levels are lower, and I don't get cravings as much. I also noticed how I've been eating until satiety, which has been very difficult for me in the past. I think between 1000-1200 calories is enough for me, because I am 5'2, and only walk for exercise. I'm going to continue doing this for a month, to be down to 47-48 kg. @@loaf440 Hi! I've been trying to maintain 1000 every day, but realistically, I've been eating at the 1100-1300 range after around 2 weeks straight of eating 1000 - it just wasn't sustainable without feeling incredibly hungry after awhile. Today I hit 48 (48.9 lol), but I've only gotten there through frequent fluctuations in my weight (around 49.5-50kg). This is understandable, because even with the 1000-1200kcal room I gave myself, I occasionally went over 1400 (BED, but it's getting better). I don't think you should reduce your caloric intake - 1200 is still quite low, especially for your height! Rather, try to incorporate short exercises such as walking, or Chloe Ting workouts :)

After a few months on a deficit I'll readapt to my new amount of necessary cals to maintain and consume that for a while so my body can rest and adjust to the weight loss I'll have had so far. Here’s my story with this diet: (20 year old male 5’10 and 192lbs)
    I ate 1000-1200calories a day (mainly 1000) for 7 weeks straight. Total weight loss was 28lbs (id say 4-5lbs of water weight). The key to this is to EAT WHAT YOU WANT! I ate pizzas, kebabs, loads of carb loaded breads etc and it did not matter as long as I met the 1000cal goal for the day. Drink diluted juices instead of water all the time so you don’t get sick of the diet.
    The question everyone wants to know the answer to; do you gain all the weight back once you up your calories? Simple answer... nope. I did in fairness gain the weight back due to demanding job and studies but it took me 6 months of binging on 3-4K calories a day (mainly takeaways sadly). So basically you’d have to really overeat constantly to gain the weight and at the rate I was going, I would have gained weight either way. Started the diet back up again and easy as that, lost all the weight again. Don’t currently have a job due to the quarantine so I won’t be putting it back on anytime soon :)

    I see people on here saying that they eat this low and lose weight and then the replies are always asking how to do that, etc. I’m just here to say that that is not the way to do it. keep in mind height, weight, age and gender vary the amount of calories you need but no one should be eating 1000 or even 1200 calories to lose weight, that’s WAY too low. For context I began my weight loss journey on June 11, 2019 where my starting weight was 234.6 lbs at 5’8. I am currently 19 years old and weighed in at 168.2 lbs this morning and I eat 2,300 calories a day (and I’m still trying to lose more weight). I would say I can maintain my weight with 2,700-2,900 calories. I don’t have a “fast” metabolism or great genetics, I just focus on lifting weights daily and building muscle while eating at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. I also try to get in at least 10,000 steps every day and I love to play sports such as basketball or football. Even during the quarantine I am continuing to lose fat and build muscle while eating that much. Once I reach a point where I feel a bit more comfortable I will slowly increase my calories by 100 calories a day every week until my weight levels out and I will try to maintain that for the foreseeable future. I am writing all this to say that if when I first started my weight loss journey I had seen some of these people claiming to only eat 1200 calories a day I would have never even tried to get healthy. I am just telling everyone who loves food like myself that you can lose weight with a lot of food if you take your time and work on building muscle while losing the fat.

Would it be dangerous for me to simply eat a lot less? If my sole aim is to lose fat off my face and body? @GagoGamesYT 4 роки тому +27

      Anytime you're in a calorie deficit you're gonna burn your own fat as fuel - IF is just an eating strategy that can facilitate dieting for some people, but it's nothing magical or superior. Also, what does growth hormone matter in this case? Even if it were correlated with muscle growth, do you think anyone's gonna build muscle on a 1,000 kcal diet?

    • @aussiegamerdude6403
      @aussiegamerdude6403 4 роки тому +12

      No way you will build muscle on a 1000 cal diet what im saying is in intermittent fasting it improves your fat loss hormones which is isulin , growth hormone , cortisol , and estrogen when insulin levels are low your body burns more fat when ya eat through out the day insulin rises so you cant burn fat when growth hormone rises in a fasted state it increases your metabolism the longer you fast the higher your growth hormone goes through the roof while insulin levels are low burning even more fat im not going to sit here and explain why all these hormones help ya body burn more fat efficiently theres a ton of evidence research it

    • @GagoGamesYT
      @GagoGamesYT 4 роки тому +11

      aussiegamerdude Okay thanks for explaining the way you think. I'm gonna stick with regular intervals of eating because it's just what's practical for me. After all, both ways will cause fat loss if at a caloric deficit :).

    I’ve always been knows for having a massive appetite since I was young. Always eating loads and loads and never putting on weight, probably like most teens. I’m 21 now and recently realised I was putting on a lot of fat around the waist and stomach. I’ve decided to cut down to 1300cals a day from my previous 2500-3000. I’ve lasted 2 weeks so far and realised the last couple of days I’m not even missing eating huge amounts or getting fast food every other day. I feel healthy and good. I will probably go up to 1500-1700cals as I know 1300 probably isn’t sustainable long term and I will end up on the other end of the spectrum. But so far so good

    I have been doing this for around 3 months now at most, I have lost 42 lbs and feel a whole lot better with myself.
    Before this diet I was most likely eating around about 3,500 calories or more a day, starting at a weight of 110 KG and working my way down to 85 KG so far, I'm planning to lose a little more weight and then start eating the calories I personally need to maintain the same weight.
    In my experience this hasn't effected anything other than my weight. My muscle growth is the same to as it was when I was on the bigger side, my mood is the same or better than it was before this and I finally fit into all my clothes.
    I recommend only eating 1,000 - 1,300 calories if you're around 5 feet to 5 feet 8 inches (I am personally 5 feet 8 inches tall) ...If you're on the taller side you may want to eat 1,500 - 1,800 for this to work for you, if you do not want it to be dangerous for you.
    This diet may not help you if you're eating 1,000 or whatever calories of just junk food though, I normally eat food that is mostly good for me with the odd bit of junk food here and there, I recommend eating stuff like white meats, fish, potato, home-made fajita's, rice, low-fat pasta, yogurts and low calorie breakfast foods such as two slices of toast or Bran Flakes/ Museli (Museli and bran flakes are my personal favourite for breakfast)
    Ask me any questions in the comments if you're worried or curious about this diet.

    Alright so for everyone wondering here’s what I did and in 3 months I Lost 50 Pounds roughly (49.6) and since I am 16 I guess that’s why, but I didn’t really do anything but skate and go to school. So I ate about 1,200-1,400 calories a day on Omad, one of my main meals were 1 1/2 salmon(baked), 1 cup of spinach and carrots and 1 cup of rice and seasoning. I went from 315 Pounds to 265.4 and still going. But what I did notice is that if you stick up more on ur veggies especially the low cals, it gets you full and lasts the day and if you need a fruit I sometimes got an apple or banana. But you can lose weight and this is still going because i still lose around .5 to a pound a day, also one of the key points that I keep to this was I drank at least 6-7 bottles of water a day to keep you full. Also I do believe if you eat healthier rather than eating that certain amount of calories, you will lose more since your body is getting the needed nutrients rather than carbs. But Today I am breaking that Omad fast and going to do a water fast for a week to really help cleanse my system. If you need any more questions comment!

However, I spent three to four weeks overeating before doing this diet, thus I may be less moody due to the extra food that I allowed myself. I’m thinking with all the comments that the amount of calories you need to eat really depends on activity level. If you spend most of the day playing video games or at a desk you’ll probably be okay with 1000 calories. If you’re a busy person running around all day , working out and you play sports then ofc 1000 isn’t enough. If you feel good that’s what matters.

    I am very inactive as an uber driver. I figured why not started eating 1k calorie's a day since this is about the only way I could actually lose weight by still being inactive. (This is by the way extremely easy for me, probably because Im so inactive physically). Have been losing about 1 pound a day for the last 10 days, and don't plan on stopping for another 10. I don't feel like im deficient in anything. I eat plenty of greens, and fish. And honestly don't feel that hungry at all. I eat twice a day, doesn't matter what or how many calories for each, as long as it adds up to 1k.
    EVERYBODYS BODY is different. I can easily get away by only eating 1k, but this is because Im so inactive. Try what feels just under ur comfort level with the ammount of calories you eat. I suggest you eat half of what you would normally eat per meal, then wait at least 2 hrs before eating again. I found that by doing this, my desire to eat in general went waaaaaay down. If in 2 hrs you feel like eating again, eat. But you probably won't want to.
