Sounds sick 😲 it's amazing to hear this older gear legit hold up

Thank you for the brutal riffs. This old gear sounds massive.

Cool, I have one on the bottom of my studio Rack. It's actually works and is connected to the patch bay. I'll give it a go the next time I get a metal band in the studio.

If you get the chance check out one of the “g2 series” Randall amps from the late 90’s. My favorite SS amps. They have the low end chug missing from the old RG’s and tons of gain. Eq in the loop is all you need. You can find them dirt cheap too.

I agree with this. I had an RH100 G3 that was a monster without anything in front of it. I beat it now with a G3 and pedals on the front end.

Can confirm - I picked up a g2 at a pawn shop for less than $250 and it's a monster

Agreed. Also, get one of these aphex 104s. Really all u need as well. I use it in the loop:) I love the G2 and G3 series.

i got a RG100 classic I don't know enough about it but sounds just like this Video with an EQ and a tubescreamer. I think it was built on 1990 ish

After having a ton of experience messing around with different sounds in the loop, I’ve really started to noticed that solid state sounds it’s best when you’ve got some kind of EQ in the loop.
The Aphex is really cool because it doesn’t really seem to work like how you’d think an EQ, it’s like it does something completely different than an EQ, but achieves even greater results when you use it. I’m jealous af of your setup because not only can you add presence or resonance frequencies more commonly found on tube amps, but it also seems like you can actually dial in the specific treble and low end frequencies that you want dialed In. The version I have is on a Zoom MS50G and it only acts purely as presence and resonance frequencies 😭

Supposedly dime used this unit in the front of his amp. It does little to nothing in the front in my experience and my signal chain is extremely similar to how his was (guitar - blue mxr 6 band - furman PQ4 - wah - Aphex 104 - gate - into an RG80es). To this day I have a hard time believing he ran it in the front of the amp.

You should do a video of the Aphex and the VH150. Mine needed it way more than my RG or Century would have. My VH150 is a darker sounding amp and sorely needs it.
