Honestly, RV is my main Bardin, but sometimes, almost all of the time, I forget that he has ranged options outside the MWP. I like the tip that if other people are running boss damage (a GK with Strength Pots, a Shade, a BH), it's okay to swap back out into a sniper/support role. I should really pick up a handgun or crossbow more often. Great video, Wet :3
Taking the crossbow with 'Master of Improvisation' 'Firing Fury' and 'Grungni''s Cunning' is so much fun you can just delete hordes in seconds, go after elites and specials and still have pretty decent boss dmg Also you basically get your ult back in no time
RV is my fav career since VT2 launch(sadly didn't know about the VT1 at that time) and I am glad all the tips and tricks you presented here I already follow. My all-time fav loadout is my trusty handgun with the correct breakpoints ofc and the 1h-Hammer. The 1h-Hammer never let me down and I prefer it over the duo 1h-hammers.
ranger vet is one of the last careers im working to complete helmgard on legend for. After learning his playstyles, ive been enjoying him a lot! this vid is gonna make me switch his couple talents like his lv 30. also gonna start switching the lv20 based on team comp going forward. Great vid!
Good to hear about popping the ult at the start. I've even pre-emptively used the ult for the buff before mid-match, not sure why I never did it at the start. Wish he had better ammo-dump weapons to make the +ammo drop talent a bit more useful. Often I find myself in random teams where nobody else even uses ammo, which is why I almost always run the bomb/potion one (since even if people derp and don't pick it up, I can use it all and potion-share the pots). His ult in general is pretty amazing for an on-demand stealth to shoot specials or clear those hard-to-reach elites. It's even just great being a ranged class _as Bardin_ so you have access to all his great melee weapons (he's got a ton of great stagger weapons or giant cleaves).
Mistake at the end, you wait for ult and then use bomb while the boon to not use was already here, so you basically wasted a bomb :p Ranger is a fun class, very versatile like Mercenary, like it !
They tried to make engineer the bombadier class, but ranger ends up with 2 free bombs every couple of minutes, he doesn't need to look for more than one, there's no match, Morgrim says hello!
if you wanna try bardin's throwing axes on a powerful 2 handed weapon try using it with last resort-you get to choose when you want to engage in melee or range at any time, and the throwing axes are nothing to scoff at, especially since they can very easily hit very many breakpoints
You forgot 1. Always save strenght/prophetic/wrath potions to RV if he is using masterwork pistol. Monsters and bosses just melt. 1 maybe 2 clips and even grudges are dead. Just remember to drink prophetic BEFORE you throw smoke bomb. Then blast away and get sweeeeeeeeet monster damage.
My favorite thing on any monster killer is combining 2 (or even 3 once in a blue moon) of them at the same time and one-tapping a monster with your ult))
What's your opinion in the latest Chaos Wastes update guys? I personally find it bad. The chest change pretty much made it impossible to play with more than 1 melee career in Legend and Cataclysm cause you can just get swarmed by fire rats or ratling rats and you can even reach them. You also need to run at least 1 shield in that situation. Plus no monster equals no extra coin. Furthermore the new map boon dmg vs monsters is a big meh, especially by the time that most monsters we fought came from chests. Some boons were moved as weapon traits. Most important Lightings and the Block when using melee one, which just made them even harder to get. The new boons are also a big nono. They only made the hunt for good boons harder. Like other than the one you get up on your own when hanging from a cliff or the one which deals dmg when you are down (which is only good if you also have dmg reductions like barking and then one which you take less dmg when down) the other aren't worth it. Random orbs which I don't even get to use cause me team keeps stealing them from me wow such a good boon. Temp hp orbs which require me to get dmg to drop ffs what is this, just give me the HP regen boons and I am good. And ofc the inconsistent cost for weapon upgrades. Bought red randoms at 3 map for 300 each and at 4 mao they cost 150 each, so I was like ok next time I know. Procced to not buy reds at 3 map next game only to find out that now at the 4 mao weapon randoms cost 350 each and red temper 480. Shit upgrade if you ask me. Instead of removing useless boons like the extra barrel dmg, the one you take dmg instead of your allies and the one you take dmg to hit, they added more bad ones. At least I managed to do a wombo combo with IB before the update.
So, I agree with some of your points and have gripes to add, but also disagree with some of your points. First off, the new chests. I agree that the choice to change the Chest of Trials is a bit of a mixed bag, especially for new players. No more grudgemarked monsters are guaranteed and that means the challenge "Menagerie of Murder" is way, WAY more difficult to achieve. Also, sometimes you roll the dice on chests and get the stupid Bestigor/Bannermen roll, and you end up fighting dozens of overly buffed beastmen with white weapons at 450 power... not fun. I loooove the new boons. I love the new orb boons, because it's a boon that the whole team can benefit from. Some of them reduce cooldown, some copy the effects of potions, hell, one of them gives you Shardstrike for 5 seconds and reliably comes up every 10 seconds. Plus, it creates a fun little mini game of chasing orbs in a hoard to give you buffs. Super fun. One of the new boons gives you 3 melee strikes that stagger everything, and I do mean everything (outside of a Relentless monster) around you when you ult. In regards to your Parry Orb though, it can be tough, but it gives you reason to get the "Every Block Counts as a Parry" boon when it comes up. Something I really don't like is the Be'Lakor curse of flying skulls. I mean, who playtested that shit and decided "Yeah, people will Looooove being disabled on a damaging hit for 2 seconds while surrounded by a hoard so they can't stop the 5-6 Skulls flying at you from every direction". Shit's like the Bees on Enchanter's Lair on crack. It is so, so anti-fun. I genuinely hate it. In regards to your Red Weapon Temper, it's fine. It g Just gets cheaper to upgrade items that are already upgraded. 500 for white, 450 for green, 400 for blue and 330 for gold. Not a big deal in my eyes and a welcome change as it seems a lot easier to get coins now. Anyway, that's my two cents on it so far.

Short and sweet like the Ranger himself.
I absolutely love these quick tip videos. They help me improve my gameplay tremendously

you forget Grudge Raker build which turns him into ikea engineer without weak spots
Not gonna lie, had to double-check if i really left Darkest Dungeon in the background

dual hammers/throwing axes w/last resort is so much fun. Its like a RV Slayer hybrid without the extreme carnage.
I love how Bardin is violently pointing at the channel button with his feet
Love the idea of the 5 Tips for a Career :) way to go!

What, no mention of how awesome throwing axes are on RV?
*angrily opens the Book of Grudges*
More team players. FEWER CIRCLE HUNTERS
Ranger is what engineer was suppose to be

Chad move
Blasphemy, you always take the Masterwork Pistol
Keep in mind barkskin and exuberance are added multiplicitively.
Do you think you could do this for WHC next?
I’ll be putting the next one up for a vote actually. But perhaps if the people are kind.
@@WetMagic Fair enough.
That sounds like a better way of doing it.
Wow! He’s literally me!
Awesome :)
