Oh man. This show is amazing. The first season is defiantly different than the rest of the series as it’s trying to find its own legs, yet reverting to basically redo episodes from the British series for this season. I’m glad to see you react to this show James, have a great rest of your day and a great weekend. Take care!
@@Atlas_Redux the internet / comment section isnt a lab report bud lol. typos and incorrect English, and get this....... even abbreviations are used! And 99% of people dont use punctuation. Youre just assuming shit (youre probably right, but the point still stands - JIC you missed that point - it's NOT THAT SERIOUS).
@@JoshuaDay0550 Said the angry fool going on a rant. Fun fact, you were taught in school, repeatedly, that grammar and spelling does not stop when you're done with school. School is just preparing for the world, and it's your job to not degrade your skills.
@@Atlas_Redux I do not actually understand what people are trying to accomplish when they go around looking for grammar to correct online. You understood well enough to correct them, but have nothing to add input to what they actually had to say. Are you a hardcore English teacher? Do you just look to find something to try to rile people up so that you can "talk to" them? Like, honestly, what is the goal? Because I sure doubt you actually CARE if people know or use the English language properly. (Unless you are an English teacher maybe.)
Also, fun fact: Bob Odenkirk actually auditioned for the role of Michael Scott. You can find footage of his audition tape. He is definitely a strong contender next to Steve Carell and I can absolutely see him in this role.
ohhhh i can definitely see him fitting the character my only personal and subjective opinion is that his face leans more towards the jerk kind of a boss rather that a goofy/cringe one
S1 tried to have Michael scott emulate ricky gervais character of david brent in the uk version, it didnt quite stick, but the fact youre already lovingit is a great sign
little words describe how excited i am for this, and for you. this is an absolute classic. shows like this, with no laughtrack and treating the viewer like a fly on the wall, and constantly breaking the 4th wall by looking right at the camera. its gonna be a fantastic journey
@@JamesVSCinema i feel like laughtracks dumb shows down, like telling audience 'hey, its time to laugh. we wrote a joke in' instead of letting the audience digest it
Fun fact! The guy doing the camerawork here (Randall Einhorn) ended up directing around 15 episodes of It's Always Sunny including The D.E.N.N.I.S System, The Gang Wrestles for the Troops, and The Gang buys a Boat. They have an It's Always Sunny podcast episode with Randall where they discuss his transition from a water rapids cameraman to a cinematographer to a director on hit shows.
I’m so happy that you’re reacting to this, I feel like you’ll be able to catch so many subtle jokes that other reactors often miss. Can’t wait to watch you react!
You will want to be looking to the background during the wider shots because of the hidden and deeply layered lore and the efforts of the set designers to put it all together. Season 2 has many more examples of this but I know that it started from the pilot and only got more deep as it goes on. People are still debating the motives and "off screen" actions of the show's characters. It's like a fun little puzzle to put together as you watch 😊
Michael Scott it an absolutely insane character. Take someone who desperately wants to be liked by everyone, give him absolutely zero social skills and make him a boss in an office space. Shenanigans ensue.
You're in for a hell of a treat my man. For 10 years, through the recession, hurricane katrina, etc. etc. this show was always on during thursday nights and kept the world a little less shitty
Yes this was the first big mockumentary, and it is super cool to see how rough it is with the office looking at the camera and the boom mics occasionally sticking into frame and stuff
Technically, A Hard Day's Night was the first mockumentary and is even considered a precursor to Spinal Tap. However before all that in 1938 was The War of the World's radio broadcast, which was more of a pseudo-documentary, which is in the same vein as a mockumentary but isn't presented as satire or comedy, was actually the first English language example of the genre. But if you want to include non-english language productions, then the Land Without Bread from 1933 was the earliest example. It was a French language Spanish production. However, like War of the Worlds, it was also a pseudo-documentary more than a mockumentary.
Trailer Park Boys did a mockumentary starting in the 90's. I'm sure the mockumentary format is older than that. The OG Run, Season's 01-07 are legendary. (later seasons released nearly a decade after the OG final episode) The series is short too. I think Season 01 and 02 only had 6 episodes a piece and the others 8-10. It's a Canadian show full of memorable characters, quotes and episodes. I think there are 12 seasons, but the OG Run, 01-07 is all killer, no filler. Fubar 1 and 2 are also kind of the same way, especially Fubar 1 (Not the Ahnold series). The movie about metal heads, Dean and Terry. Terry also did a crossover into the later rebooted seasons of Trailer Park Boys.
So so happy you’re getting to watch this! For some reason I just assumed you’d already watched it but glad I was wrong. As someone who does a podcast about the office I am so psyched for you!

Also with the jelly, fill the bowl up to 20% and let it set, place the item on top, then fill the rest of the bowl around it, let it all set and it will set with the item 'floating' in the middle.
Not even close friend, it might be The Rutles (1978), starring Eric Idle, with Mick Jagger, Bill Muray, George Harrison in small role. It was a spoof on The Beatles story with music so good people thought it was written by The Beatles. They recorded and sold albums.
