Two of their Locomotives paid Visit s to a railway I used to help out on. Da Medford And Willow End Railway. In the Mid to Late 90s. .Chiltern Shuttle and an Atlantic . Came down on the odd Friday evening . Sadly I've seen np footage of ether and have lost my Picture s. Still Watford is a great Railway
I'd never heard of the Medford And Willow End Railway so I just looked it up and it looks like it was a great little railway. I've been past the site of it many times on the train and had no idea there was once a miniature railway there.
Hi Henry, What day were you visiting the Watford Miniature Railway? The steam loco is David King Engineering 0-6-0T 'Pilgrim' built for the Wells and Walsingham Railway, Norfolk. The diesel loco 'Conway Castle' is on the train to provide air braking for the carriages on the train (Pilgrim does not have an air brake compressor). I too did Steam on The Met and it went from Amersham to Watford. There may well have been a separate shuttle train on the Chalfont - Chesham branch. I don't think Steam on The Met trains ran between Watford and Chesham, I believe that they all went to Amersham. Kind regards, Peter Skuce. St Albans. Hertfordshire.
Hi Peter, it was the last Sunday in September I visited. Thank you for info on the locos, it makes seance that the diesel loco was providing the brakes. Steam on the Met did run to Chesham in 1989, 2014 and 2015. All other years, as you say it ran to Amersham. There we also a couple of Uxbridge Branch trips in the mid 1990s and Christmas 2013.
Quite an extensive layout they have there its one thats on my to do list. I can certainly see why pilgrim wasnt suited to working on the wells and walsingham railway when it first started operating.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Will Otto thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
