First miniature railway of 2021. The Watford Miniature Railway!
We start by seeing a Metropolitan Line S Stock Train crossing the Grand Union Canal, we the walk along the canal to Molly's Floating Café where we meet Emily and Rebecca for a chat and a coffee. We then have a look at the River Gade before seeing Conway Castle in action and of course enjoying a trip on the Watford Miniature Railway.

In the middle of the park not far from the met station is what is now the Cha cafe,
in the 1960's it was the park tea rooms, mothers from the area whould meet up there for a
chat and tea whilst the kids would play outside, in the 80's it became abandoned except
for a playschool upstairs, about 20 years ago the Cha cafe took it over and refurbished it.
I had my first bottle of 7up with a straw there around 1964

We’ve been on that miniature railway in Casiobury Park. It’s lovely. Incidentally near where you were walking there’s a lovely canal bridge… Ah you found it! My som and I were cycling down to there before we turned back. My wife told me about Molly’s this morning.

If you take the footpath from the miniature railway station alongside the Gade towards croxley
theres a footbridge just before a weir, that footbridge leads to the old watercress fields
that used to supply watercress to the area

Was filmed on the Grand Union between Uxbridge through Watford to Tring.
I remember the Roses Lime Juice docks at Apsley well, hundreds of wooden barrels
stacked a dozen high, mostly for the Royal Navy

Its a lovely line, used to travel on it alot in the 80's when the locomotive was diesel and the carriages were an older type with seperate compartments,pull down windows and doors you could manually open. I believe its a community run line now. Keep up the great videos.
