Jeremy Adams is the best writers currently working in the industry. He writes fun, imaginative stories with real stakes. Green Lantern hasn't been this good since the glory days of Geoff Johns. I can't wait to see what he is going to do with one of my all-time favorite characters--AQUAMAN!
Hands down the best Green Lantern run since Geoff Johns left. Never thought I'd see the day I buy more DC comics than Marvel. Green Lantern, Batman: Last Halloween, Aquaman, now Green Lantern Corps. Marvel... nothing. Although that Joe Casey & Chris Cross X-Book is a possibility after the crossover issues are in the rear view mirror.
Jeremy Adams run is just behind Vindetti(Rebirth) & Geoff Johns for me. It is fantastic. Adams writes Hal perfectly! I don't think anything will ever top John's GL, but hey, this is still up there! Hopefully people will give this new GLC a shot. Not sure how GL has been doing sales-wise since Adams took over. Also, I loved that he was the writer to bring Razor into the comics! As well as seeing Larfleeze again!
I jumped on issue 1 and I’ve been all in with Adams ever since. Such a refreshing change from what we get for almost all the big books from the main two. You turned me onto Conan as well, so thanks for that one.
Kyle has been my Green Lantern since that panel where he found his old lady lunchboxed in the refrigerator...that panel is burned into my mind...im hopin he takes a heel turn for how they been treatin my dude.
Yes, everything Post Thorne has been so great from Green Lantern. I love that PKJ's GL War Journal story is being used to drive Jeremy Adam's run forward. It is so great
After Sam Humphries left, Simon and Jessica really have just been kind of there. I still wish we had something like Tomasi’s Green Lantern Corp where we have like two Earth Lanterns and all the others were aliens
The PKJ Superman run and the Jeremy Adam's Flash and Lantern runs have gotten me into DC after almost exclusively reading Marvel and indies. These writers should get Batman after hush 2
That's not fair. Jed McKay topped out at passably mediocre (beginning of Moon Knight which eventually became bad.) nothing close to what Jeremy Adams has been doing.
GL needs a book like Batman's 'Brave and the Bold'. 4 full rotating stories each month that focuses on the extraterrestrial and terrestrial GL characters and beyond.
I wish I hopped on this series sooner. I’ve never read Green Lantern before but I want to now. I might drop Action comics and Detective for Green Lantern if I can get caught up
DC should expand GL like this GL (2023) GL Corps 2025 Justice League And a monthly 100 page Tales of the GL Corps. Plus a Star Sapphire solo series Where DC does a female Superhero series that everyone can enjoy.
Thanks for this video. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Good stuff. I jumped back on the GL books only a few months ago. I want to read what I missed, debating whether to track down trades or go digital.
I liked the pre new 52 Green Lantern corps. As it had such a big cast of characters. The new 52 one felt initially like a Guy Gardner book with the corps. Then after the change in writer it was John Stewart. With the corps. I am looking forward to having this title back, but I hope they do the former style rather than the latter.
I love this. Jeremy Adams has been on a winning streak lately. I will say though that I was kinda hoping that PKJ would get this book or at the very least be the co-writer with Jeremy.
As a GL fan, I can't tell you how much I've been enjoying the Jeremy Adams run. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but it feels like the early days of Star Wars. Now if only Batman and Spider-Man had their versions of Adams...
Jeremy is the only thing keeping the big 2 on my pull list. I love that he’s giving some good spotlight to so many characters. As a rayner fan I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds
Green Lantern is one of my only consistent main stream titles. I plan on checking out the new Green Lantern Corps series in 25. Seems like this guy and Geoff John's are about the only folks who could write that character in recent years.
I used to not like Robert Vindetti because I thought his post Geoff Johns GL run was really bad with the only good books at the time being Sinestro and Red Lanterns. But he managed to really prove his worth with DC Rebirth. Didn't bother reading anything from Grant Morrison era and whoever came after him. So i may give these new books a chance even though I wish they would just go back to four human GL.
I am always excited when Jeremy Adams brings out a new book I haven’t read something of his yet that I haven’t liked, unfortunately the pessimist in me thinks in the back of my mind is this the one book that is going to be bad. Luckily Jeremy keeps battling 1000 and I hope it stays that way.
Have not really read GL since his first series got cancelled (yes, I am old lol). Kyle who? LOL Totally understand though that a lot of people nowadays grew up with other lanterns. To be truthful, I was never a fan of any other lanterns. I always wished Hal was the only cosmic super hero (like Silver Surfer was originally for Marvel). Sounds like I should read the blackest night thing you talk about. Agree. Conan fans should be happy as hell now. Titan is killing it! Happy to have more Conan books to buy, as that is one of the characters I still collect. Have everything from Weird Tales Dec. 1932 to present; so very glad to add to my life long collection! Enjoyed your video!!
Adams is on a trajectory to write Batman or Superman but the worry is that he’s so good they keep him on the second tier books to build them back up GL and PKJ’s GLWJ was brilliant. Give Adams free reign to expand his vision
Are they going to stop dumping all over Hal to build up John? I don't care what they keep saying, Hal is the greatest Green Lantern of his generation, he was the FIRST human Green Lantern and he should always be the center of all things Green Lantern.
Morrison's fault as a writer now can be simply explained - He's trying to infuse his esoteric and occult beliefs and spell crafting into his story telling. Morrison growing up was heavily influenced by Aliester Crowley (via his Uncle) so he's studied a lot of the content associated with the various clandestine fraternities associated with Crowley. And this carries over into his beliefs regarding Science, and Quantum theory such as the Observer Effect or Quantum Entanglement - Spooky science. He's combining the two to try to manifest reality through his art. Don't believe me? Watch his own Documentary or content created by channels such as "Wisecracks". You'll have to pull from several sources to get the big picture. Fun fact: Moore & Morrison were the inspirations for Spider Jerusalem of "Transmetropolitan"... he's not weird, he's WYRD.
Wish we had Adams writing "Iron Man" over at Marvel. It's been so long since I've read a good Tony Stark-centric book that actually puts him forth in a positive light. Cool he's doing good things with Hal, though. I've enjoyed all but one issue of his run on the book so far (the one downer was the crossover issue for some stupid event). I don't like Guy or Kyle, so really glad Hal is the focus. Conan has been great since Titan took over. Don't want the events, though. Prefer if they just stick with the standard format.
Glad to see Wes ecstatic for some books from the mediocre two. I just refuse to touch their stuff no matter how much recommendations are given. I've been disappointed way too often. Hope to read some of Jeremy Adams creator owned future work someday.
Too many human lanterns is an understatement. But that crap started with Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz. 4 should've been the limit Hal, Guy, John and Kyle.
This is the only DC book I'm reading, It ok, I'm not feeling it yet, frankly. It's more competent Thorne of ~shudders~ Morrison, but not quite the same highs as Johns or Venditti.
Okay well I'm going to have to sit down and read the Green lantern books and get back to you I mean Jeremy Adams was definitely great with the flash run I love his his flash run like he get he did a good redemption for Wally West and that's the kind of flash stories I want more from DC so he did a good job with flash she took me a while to get into it because I was just so pissed off by what they did to Wally but then Jeremy like came back in did such an amazing job that's why I was so mad when he was taking off of The flash cuz I'm like what are we doing the flash is amazing Why but yeah I'mma give this green lantern a shot so we got Green Lanterns or Green lantern war journal the Green lantern special and Green lantern corps coming soon okay All right then let's get into it then
I like Jeremy Adams Green Lantern more than New 52 Venditti. I thought Venditti Rebirth Green Lantern was much much better (closest to matching Geoff Johns level) but hopefully Jeremy Adams gets a long run to maybe change my mind.
I think the only reason I dont get in this one its because I know nothing about this characters and I dropped most of DC stuff after Heroes in Crisis broke me. But Im into Conan and Ghost machine stuff.
Sorry, I checked out on GL books (after reading them consistently since the 70s) the second the added the 5th earth GL, I’m not even a fan of Kyle Raynor. Now with all these others? See ya
If Jeremy Adams is the only reason to read a comic, I'm not sure I want to get into any. Cuz when he's pushed out, the book won't be worth reading anymore.
Huge GL fan, and while I like Jeremy Adams work, his stories are annoyingly decompressed. It takes forever for anything to happen. He needs to pick up the pace.
I don’t think this is a good thing at all. While Jeremy Adams is a great writer you can stretch yourself too thin trying to juggle all the stories on multiple books and the quality always ends up suffering.
Wes please explain to me the love people have for Grant Morrison. I just don't like or get his writing. Same for Jonathan Hickman. To me, both these guys are OVERRATED.
Love that Green lantern is telling great stories. It feels like the start of another epic Green lantern run like Geoff Johns.
It's great to see you so fired up and enthusiastic about comics again, especially new DC stuff. It's felt like a lean few years
Green Lantern was always my favourite DC franchise, Johns run is my favourite run ever. So glad to hear it’s back on form.
Can’t blame you for sneaking in a Conan rec😂 that book kicks serious ass
I wouldn’t complain if Jeremy Adams wrote every DC book.😂
I’ve never agreed with a comment more than I do this one.
He's doing Aquaman! Can't wait for that.
yup he needs to be head writer
He’s very promising guy! I like his work!
Green Lantern is a literal universe inside the DC Universe, so its pretty cool it is treated with care and respect.
It's a cosmic mythos
Green Lantern War Journal was really good too and it ties into current story as well.
Better than Johnathan Hickman??
Gardner: I taught Hal how to be heroic.
G'Nort: Uh, oh. He heard you.
Let's hope DC don't take him off the book and replace him with Si Spurrier
Hands down the best Green Lantern run since Geoff Johns left. Never thought I'd see the day I buy more DC comics than Marvel. Green Lantern, Batman: Last Halloween, Aquaman, now Green Lantern Corps. Marvel... nothing. Although that Joe Casey & Chris Cross X-Book is a possibility after the crossover issues are in the rear view mirror.
I just bought Green lantern earth one, I’m loving it, it’s so interestingly inventive

GL has been very good for the past year. I’m very happy for Adam’s success. 🎉
Yes, everything Post Thorne has been so great from Green Lantern. I love that PKJ's GL War Journal story is being used to drive Jeremy Adam's run forward. It is so great
Ok, I’ll try the next issue of Green Lantern. And I’ll try the GL Corps book. As long as it’s $4.
Conan is my favorite comic right now. I will say that green lantern is close behind. I can't wait for green lantern Corps to come back
I've been reading the current Green Lantern since issue 1 and I'm excited for this additional Green Lantern Corps series.
I am so happy us green lantern fans are finally getting some love again especially with Jeremy adams writing this amazing series in my opinion. :)
Agreed, GL is a good read month after month!
I’ve been reading green lantern since Rebirth (but I skipped the absolute power tie ins). It’s been consistently good!

It's been nice being the one green lantern fan in the group
Yes! Adams is on fire with his GL run. Also, it's always great seeing my boy Kyle in action.
My wallet is definitely not happy with all the good books.
He is DC’s Jed Mackey now. I hope DC won’t burn him out with too many writing duties.
That's not fair. Jed McKay topped out at passably mediocre (beginning of Moon Knight which eventually became bad.) nothing close to what Jeremy Adams has been doing.
@@jbbrolic well at least his black cat run was also great.
I don't read Green Lantern since Geoff Johns run but is good see the Corps having a nice time again affter years of so many mediocre runs.
Kyle is like the Jason Todd of the Batfamily. He's popular but doesn't get to shine very often in Green Lantern stories.
@@virginislandsguy1885 Jason Todd, but likeable.
Isn't he the white lantern? What do you mean he doesn't get to shine?
Green lantern is DC s cosmic oddessy

DC should expand GL like this
GL (2023)
GL Corps 2025
Justice League

This is awesome. Did jess ditch the yellow ring that she had in that annual?

Don't forget, anything from Mark Millar is amazing. As for Green Lantern, I miss Kyle and would like to see him get back together with Donna Troy!
