Detective Chimp may have that title, but he has less appearances that Batman, so by quantity standards, Batman gets the gold. I'm not sure what you're talking about exactly. If you mean the Nolan movies I would guess he didn't think Robin was 'realistic' enough. I liked his movies but sometimes his obsession with being 'realistic' really hurt the characters and the potential of the stories they could do. We really need something that not as goofy as the 90's movies but not as super serious/realistic as the Nolan movies. Something that can embrace the comic book roots of the characters without being as over the top as "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". There is plenty of room between them and the Nolan movies to land the right tone

Their first appearance was in 1983's The Brave and the Bold #200, as a sneak preview of the team. That issue also features the death of the Golden Age Batman. The Outsiders in that issue are Batman, Black Lightning, Metamorpho, Halo, Geoforce and Katana, and it's the first appearances of Halo, Geoforce and Katana.

Actually Jason was the only Robin who actually died. Stephanie's death was broken and Damian was just an idiot who literally killed himself. And Damian was never a hero, he never saved a single person as Robin at all. And he's a psychopathic murderer.

Even in the Young Justice show although Robin calls himself a sidekick, Batman has never considered him a sidekick. He trained all of the Robins to be his equal otherwise how in the world could he put them in danger? That's why he was always so hard on them, the superhero world is dangerous and you have to be just as tough as Batman if you want to see another sunrise, so he trained them to that level. Things happen and some have died but it was never from lack of training.
Guessing you did not read the issues where Bruce and Tim fell out, or where Bruce and Grayson fell out before that. Bruce is by nature overprotecting and controlling. I think the closest to an equal he sees is Clark.
None of that means he was training them to be sidekicks. He was ALWAYS training them to be as good as or better than he was. I believe he considered Wonder Woman his equal as well.
