As a U.S. veteran I thank you. But let us not forget history that we may learn from it. Rome was the greatest power for centuries yet it too fell, only to inspire others that never knew it's glories and miseries. America rose from those ideals of Republic, strength and honor and yes, unfortunately, slavery. If we fall, may the light we carried in our time on this good earth inspire others in times to come.
