Thank you for having the literal only video on UA-cam that ACTUALLY compares these 2 ratchets. Everyone else compares it to the high-speed or has the older, brushed-style Snap On ratchet
I actually like the low torque of the brushed ratchets. It took me years before wanting to try a battery powered ratchet because I skinned so many knuckles as a kid with the old air ratchets.
Just traded my long neck fuel ratchet in on a brute. I love most of my Milwaukee tools, but the newer ratchets aren’t one of them. I still have an old brushed Milwaukee 1/4 drive and just took home the old 3/8. Liked the ergonomics of them much better than the fuel. I disagree on the torque output of a ratchet. I don’t care how fast it goes, but nothing is more annoying than trying to take a fastener off, especially locknuts, and the ratchet will go for a second then stop and you have to manually crank on it till it gets to an easier spot.
One thing I like about the Snap On cordless ratchets is the button style trigger and glad they kept it.I currently have the short neck brute in 3/8 drive and love it.I clean it wiping it down with tub o' towels and I don't use brake clean on it.I have the 1/4 drive fuel ratchets, already had my long reach sent in for warranty once.Selector stuck on me which I had to use a pair of pliers to change directions on it.The anvil and hammer assembly was wore out which was replaced
Doesn't matter what Milwaukee used to be, it's another Chinese product now. The Milwaukee brand is owned by Techtronic Industries in Hong Kong. Keep buying their products and you're supporting China.
I got one of these the other week off the truck for a killer deal he had a repo full kit and was still practically brand new and got the ratchet 2 batteries and the charger for only $270 couldn’t pass it up for that price! I was actually going to buy the Milwaukee 3/8 ratchet kit cause it was only $299 vs over $600 for the snap on one but when he had that repo deal I went with the snap on and have got to say am super happy with it too!
I said I wasn't gonna buy anymore snap on battery powered tools because I have went all Milwaukee but I ended up getting one of these today. The rape van got me again!
Ya know, I hear a LOT of folks say Snap-On is a waste of money. I’m sure y’all hear that as often as I do. This proves different. I guess there’s a reason why people still have the same Snap-On tools from 30+ years ago. I will almost always pay that extra dough on quality tools to make my job faster, easier and to have that sense of security and assurance.
Wanna see a brushless brute ratchet, able to get 60 ftlbs out of the normal head, having a brute head on it and possibly 140 ftlbs of breakaway would be insane
Brake cleaner amazing makes it like new follow that with silicone spray new again take the battery out in this process makes it new again like the day you bought it. 35 years in the trade every one thinks I never use these tools too clean.
I really wish Snappy would come out with a cordless ratchet that uses the rocker switch (like on the ct761) instead of the traditional mechanical switch. Also, it would be nice of the speed/torque was selectable.
I had my snap on for less than a year and it's broken already I only use it for engine air and cabin air filters I'm pretty disappointed in the quality
I used ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell
I had 3 Milwaukee ratchets that the head messed up on. The last one I had for 6 months and didn’t even abuse it like the other ones. I’m getting a snap on one this week
I like all Milwaukee tools except the ratchets. Dislike the paddle switch. Snapon ratchet ergonomics way better. Milwaukee high speed extended ratchet is what I’m waiting for ⏰
Size and button and turn switch, snap on wins but my tool guy is letting me trade in my Milwaukee for the new high speed one, which is also less bulky, I agree though don’t use it for torque. I did prefer the Milwaukee light.
Can anyone help I'm after a charger for these style battery can't find them anywhere does anybody know if there is another charger out there that will fit these battery's
Just bought the snap-on 3 days ago so far I love it I like the features of this ratchet and I'm a firm believer People say that the snap-on is more but I don't have to come our of pocket for the money I make payments
Honestly, I'll stick with my cheap chinese Milwakee knockoff. $70 VonHaus from Amazon. I have pulled and rebuilt at least 15 engines with it, and it is still going strong. It ain't big on high end torque, but for me that's OK, as it won't tend to break small fasteners. It's small and compact and waaaaaaaay better than ratcheting out long bolts by hand. And it still has a light.
I think snap on makes some of the most perfect power ratchets. The issue is the price and options for the lineup. Other than the ratchet and maybe paddle gun there's not anything I would buy in the line that milwaukee would have that's far superior as of now and the last long time. Love the stuff just cant drop 600 on a kit when you get the junky but decent gen1 milwaukee for 80 90 bucks tool only. Love the content no hate just cant bring myself to their battery line.
I hear you about that Milwaukee paddle. I have the extended length 3/8" Fuel M12, and up until last week I would use a Hercules cordless for most of my needs just because I preferred it to the Milwaukee from an ergonomic standpoint. I just retired my Hercules ratchet to home use, having replaced it at the shop with the CTR861 yesterday afternoon. This new Snap On is awesome.
@@petedagreek4583 Why the Hell not? Not everyone knows it needs grease or even how to grease it properly so what's so fucking funny about that? This wasn't a question you were asked to answer so STFU!
Pretty nice, but I was hoping it would keep the higher rpm. I might keep my brushed CTR761C. Hopefully they'll release a higher speed brushless ratchet in the future. Maybe the 1/4 inch version.

Awesome comparison. I personally like the paddle. I will say there is one massive reason I'll take the Milwaukee over the Snap-On. Price! Tool and batteries. Obviously if it is your every day all day job and you use the ratchet 20X a day and prefer the Snap-On, it becomes far more worth it. For a home gamer and social mediaer like me, the Milwaukee makes more sense. As silly as it is though, I def prefer the light temperature on that Snap-On. The instant torque seems excellent as well. Good option if you can afford it!
Snap battery is still very annoying because of the design. Milwaukee have 3.0 compact that just beats every other tool company when it comes to compacts.
I really liked using it on the tool truck but i just thought it was too slow for me. Similar to you i care about the speed because i just break them free by hand and run the fasteners on or off with the cordless ratchet
