What pains me is the disrespect they show Vincenzo Joseph . He is the returning champion , he deserves to be there , he is not Imar's underdog , it was Imar who has to regain the title , and once again he couldn't do it , no excuses Vincenzo Joseph was and is the 165 lb. Champion .
I Mar is still has more wins against Nolf and Vincenzo than Nolfe and Vincenzo have against I Mar combined. LOL Also, he can still be a 4 time Big Ten Champion. I think I Mar still has potential to win another Big 10 and another NCAA title. I'm not saying he WILL get it; I'm just saying that he CAN get it. Also, Vincenzo was the better wrestler in this match. He earned it fair and square, regardless of whether or not I Mar was "there". Accept it, I Mar fans. And that's coming from someone who IS an I Mar fan!

Last year when he was pinned by a Penn State freshman it was because he came off a tough tournament. Now this year pinned by a Penn State freshman it was because of stress or bad warm-up. He is a great wrestler he does not need excuses. The Penn State wrestlers are great wrestlers, they deserve the credit. After all both of the Penn State wrestlers that beat Martinez are now national champions.
He was gassed at the end of the second period and out of energy - watch the video and look at his face between period 2 and 3, and look how easy he ends up on his knees stumbling right before he tried to come up and go into a throw. He gave up easy pins to nolf and joseph, both times when he got gassed. He's a good wrestler, but not at the level of some of the other guys like Snyder, Retherford or Cox, or even Gabe Dean. As time goes on, if he had the same body size as nolf, I think nolf would start to beat him consistently, too.
I think he increased his cardio regimen after the first match with nolf when he was clearly gassed. My opinion (because who knows if you don't wrestle both), I think he's probably stronger than nolf and that's why he was able to beat nolf, who is a lot more creative than imar, and much better in tie ups. He stayed away from that in the last two matches.

I think I Mar had a better gas tank than Nolf did in the Big 10 last year. I Mar wouldn't have won that match if his gas tank wasn't on par with Nolf.
