*everything wrong with Academy voters. The fact that she has an Oscar and Naomi Watts and GLENN FUCKING CLOSE don't is an abject travesty. And for that middling performance in LaLa Land? Miss me with that bullshit.
@@SurgeryIsWoke Naomi Watts should have an Oscar but Emma Stone should too. Stone is incredibly good in Maniac and Birdman, The awards are a fucking joke; they're for industry promotion, for making money for the studio owners.

Hugo (2011): A free-flowing and enchanting celebration of movie-making, finding the way home, and the kind of caring that can transform the lives of others.
John Skudris lol I posted this shit 4 years ago, kinda late Also, my point was that they either did a really good job of fooling the crowd/audience or that she was fucked up so much so that no one was playing along with it and it was awkward, thus Jonah Hill’s reaction... dumbass
The story emphasizes the importance of films and how magical movies can be for their audience. Everyone has a purpose, and you just have to find out what it is for that purpose to be met.
A tough year for this category and one of the biggest surprises of the night. Hugo had great supporting visual effects, but the favorite (and for me the most deserving one) was Rise of the Planet of the Apes (winner in this category at the Critics' Choice Awards and at the VES). And let's not forget that the last Harry Potter won the Bafta in the same category, so the battle that year was more opened than usual. That's the way it should always be (not like this year with Gravity as certain winner)!
Emma was really funny here. I love how she references everything Ben has done in the past Oscar shows. She totally outshines him here. Kudos to Ben for touching her part in 2:15, lucky him.
+Lime Street Entertainment He's playing the straight man, and no, that's not what you think, in other countries, there is dynamic called funny man straight up, the funny man says outrageous things and it's highlighted by the straight man giving a reasonable viewpoint that is more "normal" It's big in japan especially, that's what ben stiller is doing to constrast emma's funny man role.
I did see Hugo and it was in fact one of my favorite films of last year. I thought it was a superior film overall to Harry Potter or Rise of the Planet of the Apes. However, out of everything that was great in this movie, the visuals were not what stood out. I was personally more impressed with how jaw dropping the art direction, set design, cinematography, writing, directing and acting were. The visual effects, though technically proficient, never upstaged the practical work in my opinion.
Wow. I'd love her confidence. She is awesome!! I'm British and I totally get this humour. The rest of the celebs need to loosen up. This was funny. Oh and she can sing. ;)

Man! Emma Stone must be wearing some high heels because she looks much taller compared to Ben Stiller who is 5' 7" when she is actually just 5' 6." Like just look at 2:04, the height comparison.
How appropriate that a movie about the father of movie special effects gets an Oscar for its effects. They were great in evoking a fantastic setting in a fantastic tale. I'm glad it won. Just wish it would've won Best Picture.
