  • The best baked beans I've ever eaten.
This is a perfect pot luck dish.
1 LG can of baked beans ( I used 1&1/2)
    1/2 green pepper chopped
    1 sm onion chopped
    1 lb hamburger
    1 polish sausage sliced
    3/4 cup sugar
    Ketchup
    Salt and pepper
A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
    Bacon slices
Brown hamburger onions and peppers together. Then add in polish sausage and cook for a few minutes. Add baked beans sugar, ketchup, salt and pepper and Worcestershire sauce stir every thing together well. Pour in 9x13 pan. Lay bacon slices on top. Cover with tin foil and place in a 350° oven.and bake for 1 and 1/2 hours. Remove foil and cook a few more minutes until bacon is browned.

I add a couple of cans of butter beans, drained & rinsed, mustard, brown sugar and molasses to mine. You can honestly make a meal off these beans. Delish!!

Very delicious looking baked beans. When I make baked beans I use a small amount of brown sugar instead of white sugar and Kraft sweet honey barbeque sauce instead of ketchup and my Mom's secret a dash of garlic powder.
When Mom was fixing glazed ham for New Year's she always made Hawaiian baked beans. It has a small amount of pineapple juice added to the beans, drained small can of crushed pineapple, and diced cooked ham a small amount added to the beans.
Hamburgers sprinkled with alittle hamburger seasoning. or barbeque seasoning flavors them good or Mom use to make her own hamburgers using ground beef and added to it things she added when making meatloaf then shaped them into hamburger patties.

Your baked bean recipe sounds a lot like mine with the brown sugar. It's not written down either just something I learned from my mother growing up. 😊❤

I love baked beans. I have been making them for over 60 years. I found the recipe somewhere but do not know where. I don't have to have a recipe to make them anymore. I think I am going to try your recipe out and see if my family like it. I am so glad i have your channel. You are wonderful cook. I also love to cook, I am happiest when my family comes to eat. Have a blessed and Merry Christmas.

I've made this for years although we don't use the Polska kielbasa( which means Polish sausage by the way). I don't use white sugar I use a little brown sugar and little molasses. And when I make it I use the big #10 6 lb can of beans. Sometimes we add bacon. I'll have to try it with the Polish sausage next.
    Thanks for sharing.
Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe.
    God bless

Looks great ... we put brown sugar instead of white sugar for the deep taste !! And baked beans always goes great with homemade potato salad .... and BBQ if possible ! But with hamburgers or hotdogs, dip your burger in the juice from the beans .... oh out of this world !!

My cousin's husband is from Alabama and he makes the best baked beans I've ever had in my life. He also refuses to give up his recipe! LOL I've never been a big fan of baked beans, but I could eat his all day long! These look really good, but I'm surprised it calls for white sugar, cuz baked beans usually call for brown sugar or molasses. I think I may try these and see if I like them. I might swap the sugar though to brown. Thanks for sharing!
Also, if I were to ever see you anywhere, I'd totally run over and say hi! I might have church right there in the spot! 😂😂😂

That must have been amazing when you were recognized. This dish looks good. My children (grown) don't eat baked beans 😉😏 but Boston baked beans are my favorite. Especially when my Mom made them for family picnics. Everyone loved them! Have you thought of using brown instead of white sugar? I think it would bring them to another level. I've been using the paper towel trick for many years. It is a good one. Enjoying your videos now that I found them. Happy New Year and God Bless
p.s. If you get the right one, Walmart makes a good toilet tissue. A couple of their employees turned me on to it a few years back. I have certain names brands I prefer, like mayo, but am willing to try store name some times. There is a book out there that lists what products are made by which company.

Looks good I don't know if we have a Aldis have check we usually use brown sugar cooked the bacon then crumble it on top and mix it through also a little mustard.. Never used polish sausage or ground beef. It be something new. I'm willing to try. I always like trying new things I never tried before. But my childrens never complain always eat what we put on their plate if its something new I say just try a little and if u don't like it then at least you tried it. I grew up same way whatever my mom put on my siblings and my plate we ate she was a good cook.. We've even used pork n beans, bushes and have used canned pinto beans whatever's in the kitchens. When my husband go shopping if I don't make a list he will get what he think is OK. Having teenage boys and younger childrens I just cross my fingers and hope for the best... I'm going try this I love polish sausage the smoky flavor I'm sure is awesome. Love and positivity neita James and family.:-)

I put a package of hot pan sausage instead of ground beef and brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, bbq sauce, garlic powder, dried onions, etc. sounds similar to yours. And girl, let that sausage brown a good bit so those flavors get in there real good. I learned it really helps. (Were ster shire) sauce if that helps

Up north we call those calico beans or graduation beans because we always have them for grad parties:))). We add butter beans, black beans, lima beans, kidney beans or red beans....what ever kind of beans you like not just baked beans..we do use the hamburger in them and diced bacon but not the polish sausage......they are delicious trust me. Add some garlic or garlic powder a bit of mustard.. It's also called a hot dish up here and not casserole. So interesting the different regional differences. I've never tried this with sausage, but will next time I make this. I use Bushs Grillin Bourbon and brown sugar beans, I don't add any sugar using those. Also add a few hefty drops of liquid smoke along with the Worcestershire sauce. Either way this dish is delicious! I call the 'Cowboy Beans'. 😊

This is how I make mine too. Almost a meal in itself. Right? The only thing I do different is I use brown sugar and a squirt of yellow mustard. I don't do ketchup but if need be add BBQ sauce or extra molasses and some more chopped bacon. My Spanish rice is like this too with hamburger and sliced up smoked sausage. Tfs I shop like that too. I do save money. I buy less junk food because I'm shopping for the whole month. If there something special or sweets or I run out of something, that's what we go back to the store for. Otherwise I stick to the basics. I use to be a label snob too. But hey..times have changed. I buy what I can to stretch the almighty dollar. Aldi's and SaveALot has saved me so much money thanks be to God. I'll do their mayo but I still prefer is Hellman's. I'll do their ketchup but prefer Heinz.

I do the same thing with the paper towels. I also make baked beans, I cook up the bacon and add directly to the beans. Try adding alittle sweet baby rays also!! But I have a question, you must have a ghost in the house?? Your cabinets are always open.

I shop once every 2 month. Exception off milk, some dairy i.e. cottage cheese, asst. cheeses and some veggies. Alot of preprep. Shopping and preprep about 2 days. Well worth it. You save on time, gas, minimal clean up. Soooo much free time.
