- The Tikka T3 is a great step up from your typical entry level bolt action hunting rifle. It is incredibly light and very field worthy. You can purchase them for around $800, and at that price, you get a quality rifle with an amazing trigger. Did I mention this thing is light?

I bought this same model except in 22-250., and I can assure you that what was said in the video is right on the money. Another saying that holds as true as this rifle's aim is; Why settle for less, when the best costs no more !
Buy this one.
Great review. I bought this identical rifle in .308 as well a couple years ago. For years I hunted with my old trusty Lee Enfield No. 4 with the full WW2 stock and original iron sights, and I really didn’t know any different. Now that I’m in my 50’s, that old Lee Enfield started getting a little heavy so I decided to join the 21 century. I went to my local gun store and admitted that I know nothing about modern centre-fire rifles and left it to them to suggest my options. I looked at a Savage Axis among a few others, but chose the Tikka upon the strong endorsement of the woman behind the counter. She had one herself in .270 and loved it. I chose it in .308 mostly because I’m ex-Canadian Army and very familiar with 7.62x51 NATO and what it’s capable of. I also used her recommendations of a mid-level Bushnell scope which she mounted while I waited.
That was a couple of deer seasons ago, and I still love my T3. I highly recommend the same for anyone. Incidentally, the recoil is much easier than what I was used to with the .303, so that’s an added plus.
Shawn Hatton that is awesome
Thanks for that Shawn..I’m ex CF as well and love the .308 caliber. I have always loved my Parker Hale but it looks like this rifle may be next in my rack!!
I should also mention that the only extra (other than the scope) I picked up was the 5 round magazine. I thought about how we do have bear and coyotes where I hunt deer. I really don’t want to be up to my elbows in deer entrails while Buster the Bear thinks that I’m serving up his lunch. My rifle now has only two rounds left, or one if I needed a second shot to finish the deer off. I know that I could have more rounds in a pocket, but nothing beats loading another round from a magazine, especially with the stress of staring at a predator who isn’t really frightened of puny little humans. I kept the stock three rounder, it’s loaded and in my pocket just in case.
My dad won one in a raffle in 30-06 we took it hunting in Colorado and I shot a 2" group at 300 yards and for me that was amazing I'm an Everglades boy so most shots are within 50 yards
I've had mine for about 8 years and love mine in .308. I've dropped some big bucks and hogs with heavy grain Fusion rounds but dropped to 150 grain for longer 200 yard shots. Nice weapon for sure.
I own a Tikka T3 Stainless/ Lite in 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser: I love it.
All I added was a Leupold 3-9 x40mm (German Duplex No.1 reticle), a "sticky" sling with a rubberized chunk to prevent lots of swinging movement and Butler Creek flip-up scope covers...
Add a second "mag" + ammo and the package was complete.
Between these and CZ's, they are the best bang for the buck at the intermediate levels for the amount of quality you recieve.
Cheers!

This one is on the hit list. I've owned Tikka's before and had great success with accuracy. I want to hunt with one once again, so I'm going to get another. 7mm-08 is what I'm going with this time. Nice and easy recoil with respectable power. Nice review. Keep em coming.
I just purchased this rifle about month ago and I just love it.. Very accurate and not much recoil at all. Very nice rifle and I absolutely love how easy the bolt slides back and forth.. Very phenomenal rifle for the money..Would seriously tell you if you looking for a new rifle this tikka t3 lite is the way to go..
Love this rifle! I was getting sub MOA groups out of the box. Now that immediately reloading the .308, I'm getting 5 shot groups all touching in 1/2 inch @ 100 yards.
Nice review. I just bought one chambered in 270. Same Blued barrel, although the stainless barrel would have been nice. I picked mine up for $400, no tax either! A local guy had won it in a raffle and had no need for it, awesome deal for me. Can't wait to use it, nothing but great reviews on the Tikka T3 Lite.
Just had mine ordered today and I seriously cannot wait for it to show up.
Hunt with T3 in 30-06. Limb saver took the bite out of it. I shoot a couple of boxes thru it with no bruises. I am 5’ 8 and 160 and can carry this around in hilly woods all day. Have not had to shoot more than once to down a deer. I love this rifle…
Nice video. Well done. I just ordered the Tikka T3 light in .308 and it is selling for only $500 US since the introduction of the T3x which does not offer enough incentive to add $250 to the price tag. same barrel, same trigger, same SAKO quality. Cheers!
I purchased mine chambered for 300 win mag (left handed variant). I love how light it is when your walking through the bush. the recoil did take some getting used to compared to my father's Ruger 300 win mag. The dual safety is designed nicely. I would definitely recommend it to anyone from veteran hunter to the up and comers. great rifle all around.
Purchased mine with scope from cabelas for $1200.
Good stuff, very informative. I am not looking to add to a collection but rather have an inexpensive workhorse type rifle.
Thank you as this has helped make an informed decision
I have 2 Tikka rifles, and there both tack drivers. A 7mm/08 and a 270 win. Here in the states you can pick up a blued t3 for 499.00. Great review I enjoyed it.
aceman21011 long time for a reply but I have the same combo and they are my favorite hunting rifles hands down best hunting rifles for the mountains for the price and quality.
Great video, I am in the market for this rifle and this helped a lot!
Tikka T3 Lite is very accurate. I've enjoyed mine and would recommend. Good review. Bought it a Cabella's. Added a Nikon scope and it is a Steller rifle. .
I just bought this rifle in a 25-06 it was the last of its kind on clearance $416 brand new
I'm paying off a tikka 25-06 been binge watching these videos
I bought mine a couple weeks ago, I've only put a couple rounds through it, but I thought the kick was pretty easy with a 168 grain bullet. Also, I got a crazy deal, $525 new.
Nice. I just got mine from a pawn shop up in north carolina for $650. It was the one of like four stainless steel barrel lefty .308win lites I could find, and $200 cheaper than the next. It'll get here in about two days.
it's a three stages trigger actually, if you lift the bolt and put it on safe you can manipulate the bolt.
Bought one today in 6.5 Creedmore. Love them , great shooters!
Got the same one chambered in 7mm-08 for 620.00 in Colorado. 😁👍
How's accuracy of 7mm 08 and recoil? Thank's
Just got a t3 hunter .270win still getting used to it but man what a fun rifle ! Nice video
I have the same rifle in 25 06 Remington. Very accurate and great value
Mag is the same material as military uses and is extremely durable!
I have the tikka t3 300 win mag with a prostaff scope I plan on upgrading my scope it also have a kenttrol muzzle brake 499.00 bobbys gun & ammo
that is a light and no recoil gun, its perfect for me.
Is a one piece picatinny rail available for the Tikka T3?
I also have the same model, though it's 30-06. It's recoil with soft point hunting ammo(13g) surprised me very bad. First shot the recoil made the scope hit my forehead....just a tad though so nothing bad. After I installed silencer the recoil became very much lighter. Now it just works like a dream.
Oh by the way - Tikka means Woodpecker
Very happy with mine =)
I own, abuse and hit targets frequently with the t3 lite. bolt knob could be more aggressive, barrel heats up quick, mags are $$, so lite you can hold firing ready literary all day.
I'm fixing to pick up a used one with a Nikon for $500
"I'm" not "immediate". Frickin' spellchecker.
Great review thanks!!!
Is that 6 lb with the scope on the rifle or empty.
Would you say the Tikka T3x lite is of the same quality in terms of reliability and long term lasting/use as the regular Tikka T3??
I'm in the market for a new semi shotgun. Was thinking either a versa max or a sx4. What are your thoughts?
What scope bases did you purchased? Are the holes std rem700?
Love mine
Which brand and size are your picatinny scope rails being use to hold your scope? Please advise...
I got a bushnell 3-9x 50mm to go with this. Is it good enough?
I shot one in 300 win mag it kicks ur ass u can feel the blow back standing 5 feet back but 300 win mag is 3 $ a shot
Can I put red army steel case ammo in this gun? Will it harm it? 308 win
What did you upgrade the scope to?
Any idea if this rifle is accurate @ 600+ yards? I picked one up for my first rifle and im shooting groupings within 1" - 2" spreads but I simply havnt worked up to longer range yet. I believe from what I've read, 308's BC isnt really well suited for shots over 500 yards i guess? Unless you have a more powerful 308 like the Varmint?
Also does anyone know if its possible to get the barrel threaded for a suppressor after purchase? I saw that T3X came stock with that and is something I would like to do to my T3 lite if its possible.
following as I would love to know the same info.
Wish the trigger guard and magazine was not plastic....
Cool!
Poštovani koliko vam košta ova prelijepa tika u evrima unapred xvala
Can it be fitted with a modifier?
How do you load this rifle ?
I wonder if the price of this rifle is justified compared to Browning X-bolt.
I would say absolutely YES!
Fit and finish? Features? Accuracy?
+KingKiavash I recently bought the T3 lite stainless in a .270 Win. Fit and finish is nice. It has a plastic trigger gaurd but that doesn't bother me, it is definitely a quality rifle. The thing that I am most impressed with is the accuracy! Holy crap! This gun is sub moa straight out of the box. Today I shot within 3 inches at 200yds., 342yds. and 402 yds. I plan on buying a .243 or a .260 next and yes, it will be a Tikka T3.
Have the T3x in 223
dont touch the barrel dude!!! plus. this rifle will shoot up to a 1000m if you have a good optics... so dont fire at 50-100m and talk about accuracy. it is one of the best rifles on the market. the price is a bit salty tho
how are the rifles so cheap in Canada. this kind of rifle is around 2000EUR in my country
Could somebody please answer this. Which actions on the t3 lite are long and which are short?
All actions are the same length
does Beretta own Tikka?
Yes
Sako owns Tikka, Beretta imports them.
Dbcritic Al Stoeger Canada imports them. Beretta owns Sako and Tikka as well as Burris, Steiner, Chiappa, Uberti, Benelli, Franchi, and several other companies.
why did you change your 10 tr does the weight is the only reason?
+Redg Curadeau Pretty much. Different tools for different jobs. 10TR is a range precision tool, and the Tikka is a dedicated hunter.
What is price plz I need
its no longer in production. im late to the game. very disappointed
What calibers does this rifle come in
Josh dude all of them
is it legal to shoot in the mountains ?
Canada you can shoot in sand pits as long as you have hand written permission from the landlord.
In canada u can shoot any where on crown land as long as ur following all the laws that go with it.
Tikka is not a rifle for 50 metrs shooting. :))) Try some long range shoot
God ok 🤗 يازينها
i have killed deer with this rifle at 400 yards. in 243.
It's not a picatinny rail, smh.
You decided to go with the buy once cry once method yet you picked the cheapest bases, rings, and a Chinese Crossfire II scope.
It's a rifle review, we're talking about the rifle. I had the crossfire and rings already. Make sense?
+Canadian Firearms Review not to mention you specifically say it was to get you through last deer season and that you plan on upgrading...
We're not all mad of money eh!
Keep up the good work man
