My Dad was born in 1950 and died in 1998. One of my best memories was him walking into my room and hearing Weezer's "Undone" The Sweater Song. That dude bought the Album! The only album in my life that I remember my dad buying.
This entire album was a banger. Anything y'all wanna listen to from Weezer's blue album, I'm here for it.
Definitely Weezer's best album. I remember jamming to it when moving to west Texas for the first time.
@@stevenwilliams1805 definitely a good album, but I wouldn't say it's hugely better then Pinkerton. Both were always on high rotatation
It’s definitely one of the special albums of the 90s.
Let's push for a react to the world has turned!! I like these guys channel a lot. They'd get more props for being the 1st to do it. Skol weeezzaarghhh
@@Bobsyagod my money's on Pinkerton but blue is a close second.
Now I understand you, Brad. It’s not that you can’t catch a groove. You just need to hear a song more than once. That’s completely understandable because that happens to all of us at least some of the time.
He definitely likes the more chill stuff too!
For sure
And STOP PAUSING
That's how I felt about every Radiohead album, ever.
@@Rockford03 Brad and Lex know what they're doing. They can't stop pausing it would get blocked by UA-cam and it's a reaction video they give their thoughts on the song as it progresses, if they waited until the end then they would lose train of thought trying to remember what they want to say at the end.
the best track Weezer ever did IMO
No contest imo
Buddy Holly. Personal young memories preference.
This and across the sea
Ive always loved In The Garage
I like Island in the sun better
After loosing my father and brother to alcohol abuse (liver failure and suicide respectively) this song is always a mix of emotions for me (as all art should be.) I still groove on the riff and love the power in the vocals (you can tell the artist has some experience with alcohol) but the memories still cut.
The “dear daddy” part is something else for sure
I’m sorry for your Dad and Brother.
Hope you're staying strong brotha, RIP to your Bro and Pops
The Sweater Song. One of their best
...pipe down ,Ayh!...Hash pipe is a good one too
Agreed!
@@raymo6795 Yep. They're gonna love that one too.
Hellz Yeah
110% :)
If Nirvana and Beach Boys had a baby they would call it Weezer
Nirvana, Beach Boys and Queen....
Good one, perfect!
Perfect, and I'm stealing that so my friends think I'm cool. Ha ha
Perfect
and that's what you call early emo to a point.
Yeah, glad Brad liked it, I've always liked it.
@John Quinn not well known these days, always thought was a cool song. Little different than the other stuff from same era. Sheik is another good one I think
@@masterofsparkshwy6974 all of the first 4 albums rock. Sheik is one of my favs.
@@dylandenney3980 we played it out sometimes, seems we could get it down good sound in really small bars, bigger? Sounds kinda sparse, empty. We pick up tempo a bit too
@@masterofsparkshwy6974 yea it's not really the kinda song I could see working well in front of a big crowd.
One of the best timed solo's in all of rock history. Hits so good. Short and sweet. THAT is how a solo is supposed to work.
The song is about alcoholism. More specifically, the lead singer (Rivers Cuomo) wrote it about his father and stepfather. His father was an alcoholic, and his parents divorced because of it. One day after coming home from high school, Rivers found a beer bottle in the fridge, and panicked because he was afraid the same thing was going to happen with his stepfather. So the song is about that, but also about how having an alcoholic in the family makes you afraid that everyone else, including yourself, might become one, too.
This entire album is a Banger!! They are a fantastic live act too, Weezer shows kick serious ass and leave you with a smile on your face
I was in 8th grade when this album came out, and, it is one of the ONLY records I have kept in constant rotation for all 27 of those years. It's a BRILLIANT power pop album.
Same
Yo if you got an early press of Blue Album LP in anything close to VG- condition that puppy is worth $
As sad as this song is, it's hard not to just smile when listening to it. It's strange in that way, kinda like "Pumped up Kicks"
I remember when buddy Holly came out when I was a kid and it was the first time I heard anything like it. It was my introduction to Weezer.
Buddy Holly was one of my favourite rockers. I loved the song, from the first time.
I saw them in concert a few years ago and EVERYBODY was singing along.
Weezer know how to grab you and take you along.
Saw them for the first time, alongside Pixies (2nd time for them). Great band, but 7 of the songs they did were covers. So many of their good songs would have been more welcome.
Love this song!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
This song was in the first Rock Band, and I can't hear it without being pulled back to that time in my young teen life when it came out. Good memories.
Man, seeing Brad smile so much at one of my favorite songs EVER was such a cool feeling. I'm so glad you all enjoyed it, and there's so much more awesome Weezer stuff to dive into, but this was a perfect choice to start with.
For real!!! I was loving that smile on his face!!
Hard to not smile when weezer is playing! Feel good music
Perfectly said Ninja Tony! Love seeing Brad light up like he did with this song. Weezer is one of my absolute favorites. Buddy Holly is a great way to follow up Say It Aint So!
Yeah when Brad cracks a smile you know it was a hit
Yup...that's how they get you! We all tune in to get Lex's unique take on things, but when a song we like gets Brad to smile or give a standing O to, well then you're subscribed!! 😁😅🤣😂🤪😃
"It's definitely a tall, dark and mysterious..." Yeah, I agree Lex.
Really nice reaction! Thanks! 😊
The overall rhythm matches the tone of the lyrics too.
Everything is chill and lazy and cool, until suddenly it isn't. Then things calm down again, but they aren't really chill anymore.
Definitely needs to react to Undone - The Sweater Song next. Classic Weezer! Then listen to the whole blue album front to back.
These are a few of the songs I recommend that you two check out next
1. Buddy Holly
2. Island in the Sun
3. Undone (The Sweater Song)
4. Beverly Hills
And my name is jonas
All great pics
Across the sea is their best
Personally I like hash pipe
Te greatest man that ever lived?
Great track, and glad you like this one Brad. Weezer often get overlooked on reaction videos.
I truly LOVE weezer, unique band for everyone! I did so much coke at one of their gigs that i ended up on stage dancing and River just went with it...memories!! 🤟
BTW. Weezer is fun to play on electrical guitars. We used to play their songs a lot on on instruments at our buddies garage growing up back in the days lol
The entire album is a classic.
It’s great to see Brad gush over a song ☺️ sing it bro, sing it 🙌🏽
Love it!! Just saw them live a couple weeks ago on tour and they played this entire album front to back! One of the best concerts I’ve seen! I highly re😢recommend their song “Only in dreams”. It’s my my favourite Weezer song and would make a great reaction video!!
Absolutely love you guy's reactions on your faces! Kinda hurts my heart that you grew up missing SO much cool older music! Happy to see you guys grooving on this!
Yeah yeah - Weezer is one of the all time best, and they are still making great stuff! My teenagers all love them -one of their favorites bands of all time!!
They end their shows with this song usually, and it is crazy how the crowd gets into it and singing throughout the song. It’s great!
One of the few songs I have never gotten sick of. Been lucky enough to see it live 3 times.
Man these guys were legends! Big during the '90s and '00s. College alternative rock.
This is one of the albums with (still to this day) countless listens in my playlists. One of my all time favorites.
My man! I’m like waiting over here like through so many of y’all’s vids for something to hit home with you! Of all bands- WEEZER!!!!
This song is near and dear to me for personal reasons and I’m really glad you dig it… finally saw one that struck a cord in you! Powerful stuff.
Glad you’re checking out Weezer. They have a pretty deep catalog, so you’re in for a nice musical journey with them.
SNL did a skit with Matt Damon in which Leslie Jones takes my side of this little discussion....... ua-cam.com/video/ab5WvwfLuLM/v-deo.html
Brad, first time I watched a video of yours where you actually reacted! Usually you are very stoic. Glad to see you finally show some emotion!
"YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE" by NEW RADICALS is a most reaction someday! The whole vibe of this song is so uplifting and happy 😊😊
This song is so deep when you actually listen to it. “Like father, step father. The son is drowning in the flood!!!” Alcoholism is crazy
Hell fucking yeah Brad! This reaction made my day a little brighter ;)
Love Weezer. Saw them live, they are very entertaining.
CD players in cars were kinda new when this came out. I had a new Sony in my '62 Chevy and this CD didn't come out for six months. Keep Rock Alive!! 🤘🏽🖤🔥🙌🏼 ℁
Weezer came out when i was in middle school and this has been my all time favorite song of theirs🔥
Yo I LOVE lex but I could hang with Brad all day and chill and talk deep shit. Hes chill as shit. Kudos man.
This song. This album. I first heard it as a teen and it was an instant favourite.
I saw weezer a couple times ban in the day on the blue album tour then again on green album. I liaten to EVERY genre of music, metal, rap, raggae, dancehall, classical, ect but weezer still stands as my favorite overall band ever. Soooooo good👏
This whole album, Brad. One of a handful of perfect nineties rock greats.
When I was 14 this was easily my favorite song. One of those time machine songs for me.
I think it's so cool that on Weezer's debut album they hired Ric Ocasek, from the 80's band The Cars, to produce it. They were the best kind of quirky right from the jump! "Say It Ain't So", "Undone (The Sweater Song)","My Name is Jonas", and of course the hit that put them on the map "Buddy Holly", all help to round out a truly quintessential 90's album. For me it's anthem after anthem. EVERY rock fan should own The Blue Album!
Even after listening to every one of their albums, Blue Album is my favorite. Pinkerton isn't bad either
Love playing this song on guitar. Great song
Rock Music! This whole album is all killer, no filler.
It’s amazing.. beginning to end
I love this song and this band so freaking insanely much.. all their older works were just soooo good and a lot of their later works as well! Definitely one of the staple sounds of the 90's! Brad would absolutely love their song The Greatest Man That Ever Lived.. I HIGHLY recommend it.
Lol! You must be a gambling Man... I would never be optimistic that Brad would like any song! 😉
@@moniqueleroux2198 I mean... have you heard the song?
Weezer its one of favorites band from 90s...especially the "sweater song"..😎🤘
Omg I remember the first time I heard this song & it stayed in my 🧠 for the longest time. Weezer is easily one of the best bands from that time. 👌 Sweater Song!
Yay! I love seeing Brad happy to listen to a song I like! Lex, of course, is always amazing! ... Great song, band!
I'm a musician and kind of a music snob, but Weezer and Queens Of The Stone Age are like guilty pleasures. Two completely different bands but love them both I dont know if you've ever reacted to QOTSA but all of their songs are great. One of my favorites is "The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret".
Why guilty pleasures. I listen to everything.
Nothing about QOTSA should be considered a guilty pleasure. They’re all very talented and the songwriting has become more complex over the years but they’ve never lost their desert rock sound.
I really relate to this song cause I see my father and stepfather drowning in alcohol and it has really influenced me when I got older. him growing up as a kid with alcoholic father figures really show how alcohol is a real problem in some home lives. it ruined my parent's marriages and has affected my mom, sister, and me.
Brad, thanks for sharing one of your favorite songs with the Couch Gang! We get so used to seeing Lex have the emotional reactions and "feeling" the music--it's great to see one that gets you all smiles.
I saw Weezer this year at Citizens Bank Park in Philly. When they got to the chorus of this song, the whole audience was belting out "SAY IT AIN'T SOOOO". They put on a great show.
This video should have 10 million likes. One of the greatest songs ever made
Weezer Blue Album is a mood. LOVE IT!! 2:49 The changes from mellow to hard are fucking HYPE!!
Brad, good to see you smile! Love y’all’s channel
Weezer is such a cool band. I dig this! I like ‘the sweater song’. This was fun 🤩
THERE you go. FINALLY you've arrived at the one of the if not THE most unforgettable rock song of the 90s. This song is a legend. The first two albums of Weezer are the "purest"ones. Those are when they still had Matt Sharp on bass. He is the reason why Weezer was the best version of themselves.
One of my fave songs ❤️
Always been one of my favorite 90's songs. Always in my 90's playlist. Never leaves.
The blue album is a pop masterpiece{saw them in athens georiga in 2001,great show}...love your reactions....kent in ohio
Yeah!! A song Brad liked! Woooo
6:56. That “oh, ho he-he” is just delightful! 🙂
It's so fun revisiting the songs I grew up with, with you two. :)
I bought this CD when I was in middle school back in the early 90's and still love it
great reaction to a great song...that's the ultimate complement to say u wanted to sing along.
Probably my favorite reaction of yours so far and it's because of Brad this time.
Sweater song, Buddy Holly, Hash Pipe, so many good songs from Weezer!
One of my favorite albums, ever. Yer my boy, Blue! ❤
This album highlights their control over guitar tone and that really is it’s highlight
@ 4:58 I cracked a smile the same time brad did…the guitar solo is a vibe for sure
This is in my top 5 favorite Rock songs. I love it. Glad you guys liked it.
Easily my favorite Weezer song, such a great sound!
Alright I'm gonna say it, I actually get more enjoyment out of seeing Brad smile from a song because it rarely happens, he's a much harder bottle to crack!
Brad my man, if you enjoyed this then you'll really like "Island in the Sun" by these guys, just as chill.
Vibes! This was when they were young, I wonder if you have heard the newer stuff Rivers(the singer) has done, he had a lot of pop hits
The Blue Album! Weezer! Alternative rock. 🎸
They were huge in the '90s and ' '00s. Still are. Like Foo Fighters. Yall need to listen to the band Everclear. Similar to them.
When Brad is also vibing, you know it hit the spot
Brad, you never smile! Seeing you smile that big over Weezer made my day :). Weezer is one of my favorite bands and this song hooked me in. Love that you guys appreciated it! Brad, smile more!!! You got good drops and good teeth :) Much love to both of you. Love the reactions!
Really great seeing Brad smiling from the getgo. And Weezer! Who'd a thunk it. Cool taste dude. I think you got a little punk love in ya
great to see brad having such an enthusiastic response as he usually holds back a bit ;) lol
When guitar/band hero came around, a lot of music teachers were saying “thank you God”! Made kids more aware of the elements of song structure, and brought more variety to what kids listened to.
Deftones used to cover this live... sometimes in the middles of 7 Words, they always nailed it too
Listen to “Only in Dreams” and “My Name is Jonas”… hell, really any song off the blue album
Omg My Name is Jonas is my absolute faaaaave
Yes! Only in dreams
Goosebumps for almost everything on Blue Album
One of the most fun songs to play on accoustic guitar ever.
Love it!
It's impossible to whoooooaaaah along with this song
2023 watching the way you guys sway together?... ❤❤❤❤
Brad loves Weezer, right on !
More great Weezer:
Undone (The Sweater Song)
Hash Pipe**
**YOU NEED TO DO THIS ONE!!
Love you guys! Lex - you are a queen!
I love the smile on both of your faces!! That’s what weezer does. They’re hard in concert!!! Deftones covers this song. Find it.. it’s great. A lot harder
I think this song has reached classic status because it's been elevated to songs that are played at the after party of a wedding that everyone will get down to on the dance floor.
Many great songs on this album ….The Sweater Song , Buddy Holly, My Name is Jonas ….very 90s rock
What a tune.. awesome to see it put smiles on your faces all these years later
Im so happy i grew up w this music. And now im old 😥 lol
Weezer: The Blue Album. Is Arguably, one of the best rock albums of the 90's.
