flobyboby84 on twitter recently milo didn't seem to happy about the score for who told you to think. not to mention that milo explicitly dissed fantano on this latest record too
well first of all, i don't think milo wouldn't rap things that didn't reflect his actual feelings at the time of recording said lyrics, and second of all, he tweeted the "bald haters" line almost exactly after the review (of this latest record) dropped, as if it was a direct response to the review/fantano himself. however, whatever tension milo thinks is between himself and fantano is clearly unilateral; regardless of milo's subtle polemics/jabs towards fantano, fantano still gave the record a positive review and still retweets milo-related news/articles which accentuate the palmary qualities of milo's music and his most recent album's pecuniary success. anyone who follows milo on social media closely would be able to duly inform you of milo's reflexive tenellousness with regards to his art. whatever the case is, fantano has dealt with enough offended artists over his career with a reviewer that he's learned to effectively separate the art from the artist, thereby thwarting the potentiality for any long term conflict betwixt the two (unless fantano keeps giving milo unfavourable scores (or what milo perceives as an unfavourable score, rather)).
Loved this album, even loved the pokemon go line haha. Milo just says things in a way that truly captivate me. Like just the line "don't stop running if you don't see me ahead" to his wife just hits me in a way other rappers don't. Great review guys keep up the good work :)
Milo ft open mike eagle: the otherground pizza party is my favourite rap song of all time. Thanks for releasing this guys. Big up to you for featuring spectrum pulse he provides fantastic analysis here as usual. Keep it up guys.
Great video, was really impressed with how articulate the guest was and at what level he was able to discuss the album. Link for his account doesn't work btw.
I loved this album from start to finish. When I heard that James Baldwin soundbit on the intro I marked out like crazy! I notice Milo makes a lot of references to literary artist which I happened to be a fan of, which made me love this album even more. Although I still think so the flies don't come is his best work, this album is still a masterpiece in its own right. Milo's poetic approach to his lyrics and his social awareness just hits it home for me. Myke, I gotta thank you for putting me on to him!
Man, I love this album. The music and the beats have a low key vibrance that kinda sneak up on you. All of a sudden u realize ur in the middle of something intense ash. When milo winds out repeating "flourish in the lag time" quieter and grittier each time until it becomes a feral growl...just wow. And the line abt the sword his dad gave him for specific emergencies?? It's even in the video! Love this album
I like how Mark retained his style for his guest review: the obvious jump cuts, the score at the end his the number appearing on screen... would have been nice to see him try the Dead End Hip Hop style though.
Myke C - Town you could be right with the Del The Funky Homosapien reference. Milo has an album "I wish my brother Rob was here" so he's definetely a fan of Del.
Awesome review guys! I don't know though, I love the album of course but I do not think it is even close to as good as So the Flies Don't Come. I think that So the Flies Don't Come is unreal, the emotions encapsulated and the pure energy with the fucking perfect production and intensely delivered raps was all so astounding. Which is why I find Who Told You To Think to be a bit unerwhelming as a follow up, it reminds me more of the Scallops Hotel stuff I've heard from milo. I think that Who Told You To Think is very good and I am enjoying it very much and I'm sure it will grow on me more but I will never think it is anywhere near as good as So the Flies Don't Come. I really think you guys should go back and seriously relisten to that album, please, and if you feel the same then alright but I feel like you might be forgetting just HOW amazing So the Flies Don't Come really was...
Yeah Brother Rob is great, first thing I heard from milo. And that was only 3 months ago. Since then I got and loved Flies, and now WTYTT?!? which is so damn good, prob my fave milo yet. I'm waiting to get over this project b4 I start in on Day/Night. I honestly can't wait 2 check it out lol
I feel like what was once a direct diss to Fantano kind-of became a general term for what he was describing with it. It's become an important line in a track he wrote years ago, he's not going to change it just because he has no current beef with Fantano.
Myke, could you please review Dem Atlas. If you're cool with slug and brother Ali, then I think you'll like him. He's been on their stuff and his solo stuff shows more of his own style.
I may not have found out about milo if it wasn't for Fantano and I'm sure many people are on the same boat. I love milo's music but it seems childish to fall out with someone because they didn't love 'one' of your albums.
I keep coming back to milo. I like his style, but I don't think I'm smart or informed enough to keep up with the references he's making. That said, I love that he makes those obscure references - just because they're not for me doesn't mean they aren't meaningful.
6:36 hey, myke, i think i know what the reference is here. check out busdriver's song "ministry of the torture couch," which has a hemlock ernst feature. the hook has the line "i shoot from the hip with teeth in my gun". maybe, maybe not, just thinkin'.
"Argus with a hundred eyes how he harkened to another time" c'mon man. I can see how the dense references can be off-putting, I even feel that way at times. But damn if you understand at least some of these references it's painting a logical picture. I come back to this album sometimes, it's so good. Yeah the production is nice for sure
Milo (and Busdriver) both dropped separate ATCQ references and milo straight up refers to method man. I'd say that the Del line is most likely a ref, going by the mood of the album
FYI, Milo referenced Fantano on the song 'Prince Abakaliki of Nigeria needs your help' from his Milo Takes Baths tape, so this would be the second time Fantano's made it into a milo verse
He also referenced him on "Yafet's Song" from A Toothpaste Suburb "You're a smart guy You consult the Needle Drop archive To download the entirety of its contents to your hard drive"
Im 90% sure the del line is homage His first big mixtape was a dedication to his friend rob "I wish my brother rob was here" And he was paying homage then to the Del album "I wish my brother George was here"
"Open Mike Eagle lite" what a silly idea. I think that line about rapping about brands may have been a jibe at himself too. That, or just human tendency for missing Irony. He too pushes the Ruby Yatch brand a lot after all.
This album probably won't get as much plays from me as previous albums because I think it's a lot slower and atmospheric like his Scallops Hotel albums. Where I could play So The Flies Don't Come over and over (it's actually my most streamed album) because of the dense lyrics and catchy beats, Who Told You To Think gets tiresome because it's not as melodic.
I didn't care for this album at all. I was expecting to like it because I liked so the flies don't come and I'm a huge fan of guys like Aesop Rock and Open Mike Eagle. I just rly didn't like how he seemed so unfocused in his rapping and not being able to stay on one topic, at least in a way that felt concise. I thought the production was aight and I like milo's unconventional flow but his delivery just puts me to sleep on this thing. There were some concepts that work but I think he already did them better on Flies
Dehh and spectrum pulse are music critics. Modest media is a human critic
To anyone getting into Milo from these last two albums. LISTEN TO HIS DOUBLE EP THINGS THAT HAPPEN AT NIGHT/DAY it's fucking incredible.
yaroslav64 thanks
lol wasn't even 30 seconds and Rod destroyed C-Town
Spectrum Pulse you have a new subscriber. Sick review. Glad this album was a discussion and not a review
OH SHIT MODEST CAME WITH THE JOKES OF THE BAT!!! I FUCKING LOVE MILO!!!
Lol! Always out of love.
Fantano interviewed Milo before. I'm pretty sure they're friendly with each other
+Private Kane that's an old ass interview and fantano has praised the last two projects
They're friendly now, but Milo did take offense of Fantano's review of Toothpaste Suburbs
flobyboby84 on twitter recently milo didn't seem to happy about the score for who told you to think. not to mention that milo explicitly dissed fantano on this latest record too
Hayden Miller no I think he still feels that way about fantano. His review of who told you to think was pretty underwhelming.
well first of all, i don't think milo wouldn't rap things that didn't reflect his actual feelings at the time of recording said lyrics, and second of all, he tweeted the "bald haters" line almost exactly after the review (of this latest record) dropped, as if it was a direct response to the review/fantano himself. however, whatever tension milo thinks is between himself and fantano is clearly unilateral; regardless of milo's subtle polemics/jabs towards fantano, fantano still gave the record a positive review and still retweets milo-related news/articles which accentuate the palmary qualities of milo's music and his most recent album's pecuniary success. anyone who follows milo on social media closely would be able to duly inform you of milo's reflexive tenellousness with regards to his art. whatever the case is, fantano has dealt with enough offended artists over his career with a reviewer that he's learned to effectively separate the art from the artist, thereby thwarting the potentiality for any long term conflict betwixt the two (unless fantano keeps giving milo unfavourable scores (or what milo perceives as an unfavourable score, rather)).

Side view SpectrumPulse, I ain't used to this shit
Milo ft open mike eagle: the otherground pizza party is my favourite rap song of all time. Thanks for releasing this guys. Big up to you for featuring spectrum pulse he provides fantastic analysis here as usual. Keep it up guys.
So glad you guys enjoyed this album! This is definitely going down as one my fav albums of the year if not my #1 album
Watching Mark throw his score up in the DEHH studio us an iconic moment in the history of the internet
Loving this review myke, we need to keep supporting great artists and review channels like these
That awkward moment when the Youngman song was one of my favorites...
Great video, was really impressed with how articulate the guest was and at what level he was able to discuss the album. Link for his account doesn't work btw.
Elmo search Spectrum Pulse he has a blue logo
Found him via his twitter, they fixed it too.

Sad that Rapper with Busdriver was glossed over. That was so fire. Great review guys
Douglasnotdoug sorcerer too

Milo has said in an interview that the line is indeed about Fantano.
Myke C - Town you could be right with the Del The Funky Homosapien reference. Milo has an album "I wish my brother Rob was here" so he's definetely a fan of Del.
What a cool collab lineup!
Awesome review guys!

Day/Night still has some of my favorite tracks from him, but I think The Flies and WTYTT are better overall
milo is one of hip hop's best kept secrets he keeps improving every single album one of my favorite albums of the year
lmao completely forgot this was myke's channel until he did his outro
I feel like what was once a direct diss to Fantano kind-of became a general term for what he was describing with it. It's become an important line in a track he wrote years ago, he's not going to change it just because he has no current beef with Fantano.
Hey Myke can you please review a Lil Ugly Mane album?!???!!
I checked the album out. Liked it alot. Prolly gonna have to grab the cd.
Guys I love the part where you talk to Milo himself, made me feel really good. He must be glad!
Ayy Spectrum Pulse
Collab of the year
So The Flies Don't Come is still his best work to me, but this album is still amazing
But how the fuck am I supposed to know if it bumps in the whip or not
Myke, could you please review Dem Atlas. If you're cool with slug and brother Ali, then I think you'll like him. He's been on their stuff and his solo stuff shows more of his own style.
Never even realised that Fantano reference! hahahaha
I may not have found out about milo if it wasn't for Fantano and I'm sure many people are on the same boat. I love milo's music but it seems childish to fall out with someone because they didn't love 'one' of your albums.

Huh? Plus you learn about stuff you havent heard of lol
good talk
Y’all was imitating God trynna mimic our sounds
Spectrum pulse's awkward ass arms man lmaoo. Still like his reviews though.
CJ alicea ikr and it seems like he always talks like he just exhaled all the way. I still rate his reviews though.
I wish my mental database was vast enough to understand his references. still love his work tho
6:36

maybe, maybe not, just thinkin'.
AOTY for me, wish he'd get more attention
"Argus with a hundred eyes how he harkened to another time" c'mon man. I can see how the dense references can be off-putting, I even feel that way at times. But damn if you understand at least some of these references it's painting a logical picture. I come back to this album sometimes, it's so good. Yeah the production is nice for sure
i thinks its indeed a homage Myke, he's a big fan of Del.
Milo (and Busdriver) both dropped separate ATCQ references and milo straight up refers to method man. I'd say that the Del line is most likely a ref, going by the mood of the album
It wouldn't be the first time Milo has referenced Del, I'm pretty sure
Fostersause Ferdinand I wish my brother Rob was here was a reference too.
Tha Swami I thought so.
Fantano and Milo are good friends though. Milo did take I pretty hard with Fantano's rating, and Milo shouted Fantano out on Toothpaste too.
FYI, Milo referenced Fantano on the song 'Prince Abakaliki of Nigeria needs your help' from his Milo Takes Baths tape, so this would be the second time Fantano's made it into a milo verse
He also referenced him on "Yafet's Song" from A Toothpaste Suburb
"You're a smart guy
You consult the Needle Drop archive
To download the entirety of its contents to your hard drive"
Yh, you're right. Forgot bout that line. Good looking bruh
It was on his top 10 on number 2 number being Kendrick Lamars To Pimp A Butterfly which was basically everyones number 1 .... he is so old
lol dude. .. this was dope... enjoyed it... a lot
Yo, Mike. Totally off topic, but I wanted to know. New Gorillaz album came out a while ago, and I wanted to know your thoughts.
That XO Skeletons shirt 👌🏻
"Spectrum Sauce"
What's the song during the "my last video" outro? That's is groovy
Damn Rod got jokes!
W lineup
Myke what heavy metal bands do you recommend for beginners? I only listen to Avenged sevenfold and random songs I liked from guitar hero
I will never understand why people don’t like the Youngman song.
Ornette's Swan Song is my shitttttt
This is the best rap album of the year but I do think there could be some improvements. I want longer verses and less features.
Im 90% sure the del line is homage
His first big mixtape was a dedication to his friend rob "I wish my brother rob was here"
And he was paying homage then to the Del album "I wish my brother George was here"
YOUNG MAN IS MC PAUL BARMAN
I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE KEEP SLEEPING ON THE YOUNGMAN VERSE IT WAS SO FIRE
"Open Mike Eagle lite" what a silly idea. I think that line about rapping about brands may have been a jibe at himself too. That, or just human tendency for missing Irony. He too pushes the Ruby Yatch brand a lot after all.
We need sum rap ferreira reviews

like-dislike ratio looking great, well deserved
Modest media LMFAO!!!!!!!
17:29 same 😬
Your logo always makes me initially assume that you're going to hate every album
Ken hairline is better than Lebrons
My Dad's name is Milo and he's bald. 😉
360p wtf man
Yeah, I don't know why it's taking so long to process and update. This is odd.
It's workin fine for me?
Mike S it's fine now.
this has too much high quality. dislike!!!!!!!
