- Front brakes are DONE now its time for the rear brakes. Seemed to be a typical tear down and rebuild until I got inside.
I couldnt find stock of rear brakes at rockauto but I found the DCF Brakes I needed here at www.buybrakes.com/. I have never used them before but I got my parts. They were clean. Great shape. Delivered as expected. Price was good too! They sell slotted rotor kits and fancy stuff too.
This is the winterized geocoated rotor and ceramic 5000 series pad kit I purchased: www.buybrakes.com/2015-cadill...

As always, you have created another fantastic video! Thank you for the continued awesome content
Thank you my friend 🙏
Surprise surprise. The Cadillac throws another curveball. Great commentary. 🤙
Cadillac will keep you on your toes 🤗 Never boring 🤪😆 thanks man 🙏
You found the same thing I found on my 2015 ATS Awd. No e brake shoe on drivers side. . Well take it apart again. 😂 I need it to drive. Thanks maybe I’ll paint mine too the salt or shall I say calcium. Here in North east .. rust is found everywhere. Lol. God bless
That’s insane! I’ve never seen such a thing lol uhhhg the rust is amazing in the ne. Painting has become a thing I do every spring. I still lose the battle in the long term but I like to think it slows it down a little and it looks good all summer long 👍😎 God bless you as well 🙏
There's a pressure release valve on the differential. Could be clogged or malfunctioning. I am not sure if anyone carries replacements for it.
I cleaned the valve and cleaned the area where there was some leakage. Will check it in a few days to see if it’s still leaking and will post an update. I’ve seen guys remove the valve and replace with an open vent.
Hi Michael do you have a video on changing the brake fluid? I see it in the maintenance schedule? Have you done this service yet
I have pumped a LOT of brake fluid thru my brakes since I have removed calipers twice now. But if I was going to change the fluid i would use a small syringe to suck 90% of the old fluid out of the master cylinder then fill it back up with new. Then bleed the right rear brake, close it, bleed the left rear, close it, bleed front left, close, bleed front right, bleed. Maybe 10-12 pumps per wheel? Do t let the master go dry. Keep it topped off as you work 👍
Michael, what is the OEM setup for brakes. Are the rotors AC Delco and the front pads Brembo and the rear AcDelco? Please let me know thanks!
You’d have to dig into the oem parts list. Check out www.gmpartsstore.com/ and see if you can find part #s. You can also call the dealer. Usually they will give you part #s over the phone 👍
Did those jack stands that you used underneath the rear of the ats destroy the pinch welds or were you fortunate enough to find some sort of adapter ?
You can get these . forsvaraengineering.com/shop-1/ols/products/jack-stand-adapter-fits-gm-chevy-vw-ford-cadillac-fits-3-4-ton-axle-stands
JB Weld them pads back on…how often do you use the E-break anyway!🤣
🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣 I wish I thought of that!! lol
@@sstressfl It is amazing how rusty cars get up here in VT. I can hardly keep up between the 2 of mine…when am I supposed to ride when always doing break jobs for every member of my extended family!🤣😂🤣😂🤣
@@alanfrancis6946 lol obviously a full time job! Brakes are always needing a rebuild here. I'm sure they appreciate your help. I dont know how people can afford to pay a shop to do it. Ride when ya can my friend! 💪😎 Thanks for the laughs 😂
What kind of paint my friend?
I have grown fond of duplicolor ceramic brake paint 💪😎
